  1. The George Floyd stuff was largely fuelled by anti-authoritarian sentiments, much like many of the current anti-Israel protests, rather than any specific moral objections. In this country the 2011 riots fell under basically the same umbrella.
  2. I'm not sure entire neighbourhoods off their face on fent is really a 'liberal policy' as such.
  3. Well, there were tens of thousands of mentally and physically handicapped people following Jews into the showers in the 1940s but that's not really the point is it.
  4. I'm not sure you can complain too loudly about nasty insults being thrown around 'willy nilly', when you then immediately follow it by calling someone who's not even in this discussion a retard, unprovoked, for no reason.
  5. Second time in three years, that just embarrassing. Especially as it was for a game we got humped in anyway.
  6. Money talks, as they say. I'm sure if there was demand for a large, indoor venue in Hampshire, someone would have built it. As it happens, most of the demand at the moment seems to be for more flats.
  7. I really don't think the TRU site is big enough for any kind of decent size venue. Any big act which comes to the city will play SMS or the Utilita bowl, with a temporary covered stage. I'm just not sure there's any market for a smaller, middle ground venue, or that it'd be financially viable.
  8. When a school full of children is gunned down, the likes of Kirk are usually the first to say, "OMG thoughts and prayers, how sad etc." before continuing their relentless defence of the second amendment. It's not a crass comment, Kirks death barely even counts as ironic it's so literal. The shooter is responsible for the shooting but they are not solely responsible for this, not by a long way. America has chosen to elect a president who in 2021 tried to overthrow a democratic election and take the country by force. There has been a very clear shift away from respecting the values of freedom and democracy towards, 'it's my way or nothing and violence to anyone who opposed me'.
  9. I doubt you were his type anyway.
  10. The problem with that is that 346 days a year, there’s bugger all going on at St Mary’s and the buildings would just be sat idle and not making any money. It'll be flats eventually, although I think I read somewhere that it’ll take years for the site to be naturally decontaminated.
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c206zm81z4gt If only there had been a good guy with a gun there, this could have been prevented.

    Russia

Flights operating normally now but f**k knows what the Russians are trying to prove there.
  13. Speak for yourself. In all my years following Saints, there have been two goals I was present for and absolutely lost my bananas celebrating. Rickie at Fratton and Gabbiadini's equaliser.
  14. Just looked at the BBC score page to see if we'd bowled them out yet. Not only have we bowled them out, we're now seven down in our second innings. I can only assume they've had the rotivator on the wicket instead of the roller.
  15. I really wouldn’t judge any group of people, be they Pompey fans, general football fans or otherwise, based on anything posted on social media. Stuff like that just isn’t worth acknowledging.
  16. We would not.
  17. Looks like we're off to Edgbaston again.
  18. An absolute yard sale in the power play, I've not seen us bat like that in a while.
  19. That might be the best freudian slip I've ever seen.
  20. I agree, both would be a better signing than Gaston IMO. Rodwell is a determined, up and coming, focussed young player who I'm sure will only build upon his excellent performances for Everton and prove to be great value for money. Johnson seems like a really smart, switched on, decent young lad, with a good set of morals and a bright future ahead of him. If we sign him, that's our midfield creativity sorted for the next 10 years at least.
  21. I am going to suggest that you're in for a thoroughly miserable season if you've been upset by anything Bazunu has done so far.
  22. Three of those were either free, academy or signed for less than £1m. ABK looked like a decent deal for a club like ours. He had the talent, just not the application. There are much worse examples of our recruitment than those four. Lyanco, for example.
  23. Two if you include cup games but the point stands.
  24. TBH it’s about as good as I could have realistically hoped for, on paper at least. I’ve not seen enough of some of the players but they at least come with glowing reviews from their own fans, in leagues comparable or better to ours. Seeing the long list of absolute garbage which has left the club is also hugely satisfying.
  25. We’ve got Superdry and big Tesco. No brainer.
