  1. Fellows for Wely looked like a no-brainer to me. Jander’s strength is collecting the ball from deep, taking it forward and playing it into space. Given that we were already camped on the edge of their box and Coventry were very compact, I’d say the reason for bringing him off, for a striker, was fairly self explanatory.
  2. They really weren’t spectators, they were up in Coventry’s half and saw a lot of the ball, switching play from side to side and retrieving their clearances. Wright didn’t get a sniff against them and we had most of their team pinned back in their own box. They were going up for set pieces we were regularly winning and eventually it was Wood who got on the end of a cross. That second half was entirely one way traffic and we won it 1-0. Coventry were well organised, I don’t know what else you could ask for from Saints.
  3. Looked like he was shouting ‘f**k off’ at the Northam and fist bumping towards them. THB the gave him a few words, then Lamps got his handbag out. Wely clearly took exception to something and came in for a bit of a go. All a bit silly, I guess the tension just spilled over a bit.
  4. Fair play, that’s a decent point and you can’t fault our second half effort. I was going to credit Lampard for having them well organised with ten men but he’s now acting like a classless helmet after F.T.
  5. Apart from all the shots, runs, crosses and corners you mean? WTF Bazunu?! 😂
  6. You stick to your guns, don’t let those primary school maths teachers brainwash you!
  7. Didn’t come and claim the cross for our goal though.
  8. Manning and Fellows have been as far forward as Leo and Azaz since the red, no idea which game you’re watching.
  9. I get people wanting to take a CB off, but why Manning in this situation? His strengths are getting forward, providing width and putting in crosses, taking him off is the last thing I’d do.
  10. We’ve had all the momentum since the red, so I wouldn’t just make a formation change for the sake of it. I probably would get TF on, if he’s got half an hour in him.
  11. Just got home and turned the telly on, that’ll do!
  12. Oh sausages, we all know how that ends.
  13. Bonnie Blue?
  14. Game - 8-0 Single moment - Gabbiadini’s equaliser.
  15. Why does that annoy you?

    Russia

Approx. 50 year old Russian cargo aircraft makes test flight after undergoing maintenance and proceeds to immediately break in half mid-flight. I’m sure it’s just a one-off and Russia’s 800 modern, state of the art fighter/interceptors are well maintained and airworthy
  17. So in summary, we only had four decent chances and two half chances to score four goals. You're right, cuckoo!
  18. The episode with Nigel Lindsay as the former special forces operative in Cheddar Gorge had me in stitches.
  19. Well there were two stonewall penalties, then there's the one that Azaz stuck over with the keeper off his line, Scienza hitting the underside of the bar within two minutes, Wood just missing the post from a corner and Scienza's run and shot which was about a yard wide of the left post. That's not taking into account the chances we might have created, had that free kick been six inches lower and the penalty been given/scored within the first ten minutes and the psychology of it all changed. So six reasonably decent chances, including two cast-iron penalties. Would it be reasonable to suggest that on a good day four of them get converted, or am I just being quirky, weirdo Lighthouse again?
  20. No reason we can’t win this, if we play the way we know we’re capable of, take our chances and don’t have a crap ref. On another day the Norwich game would have been 4-0 at HT, and even with an off-pace second half they don’t come back from that, so I won’t dwell on the negatives. Fellows being back would obviously be massive, if that were the case. Failing that I’d honestly go with Manning and Wely, rather than Ryan ‘jog forwards to the first player he comes up against then stop, pirouette and play the ball diagonally back to a CB’ Fraser. Sounds like Charles won’t be an option on the bench for a while longer, which is a bummer because Romeu and Aribo…. Guuuegh!
  21. His entire Everton career so far seems to 80th minute and later (often 86th) sub appearances and one start against Palace, where he was subbed off at HT when losing. He doesn’t seem to be rated there at all, you get the impression he’s just being thrown on out of embarrassment for the money he cost.
  22. Seems like the only thing he hasn’t lost is the ability to get booked.
  23. We’ve had five penalties this season? Agree with the sentiment though, his pens are all medium pace, waist height and apparently easy to read in terms of direction.
  24. I don’t mind three at the back. Seriously, since coming in he’s shown how to play that system properly and win games. What I don’t get is why you wouldn’t deviate from it when it’s not working. Today was Still-esq, keep the same system but bring on random changes and just shuffle the pieces around.
  25. You just know if we were 2-1 up with seven minutes of injury time, we’d be defending four consecutive corners. Saints? Nope, let’s turn back inside and find a pass to a CB, then misplace it straight to a Norwich player.
