We’ve got months, possibly years if this to look forward too. The viruses will mutate, we will come up with vaccines for the deadlier and more infectious variants and eventually we’ll end up with something benign that nobody is really bothered about.
-
That would be my guess too. If we were playing with four at the back, I’d expect Stephens to be in there.

I thought he’d deleted his Twitter account, although I have to admit I stopped following him a long while ago. Is he still a Covid denying helmet on there or has he seen sense?

Anyone starting to look nervously at the table?

All that would prove is that they can beat Sheff Utd and we’re not as good as Chelsea. Big whoop. That leaves us with a 3 win head-start on a team which had score 4 wins all season. Fulham will struggle to 32-35 points whilst we will probably be in the mid-forties somewhere. -
Sadly, I think that was always the motivation for a section of society.

Missed a trick with the thread title, should have gone with, ‘The Only Way is Ethics’. Personally I’ll take the ethical option when possible but it’s such a minefield and it’s very easy to be a hypocrite. Dubai for example; yes Sheikh Al Maktoum seems like a helmet to us but UAE is a relatively civilised country in that region. I’d certainly rather go there for some early/late season sun than Yemen, Iran, Saudi, Pakistan or Syria. Same with businesses, I’ll generally try to avoid Amazon but the manufacturer I’m buying from may not necessarily be more ethical themselves. I tend to end up in Costa if I want a quick coffee.

Lockdown in NI extended until 1st April which seems a bit mental if I’m being honest. Deaths and admissions are now around 1/4 the levels they were at the peak a month ago so another six weeks like this seems a little draconian.

If we reset the table now and everyone played the last 15 games from zero, I’d still bet on us staying up. -

Being absolute garbage at home for four years never seemed to put fans off so I don’t see why VAR would. -
I wonder if he ever envisaged the truly gargantuan levels of pornography that his invention would lead to.

I think ‘winning’ is a relative term when two strangers are calling each other porcine excrement on the internet but there we go.

I’ve not deleted you’ve posted. A bunch of stuff got moved to the muppet show but that was mainly Tim and Weston playing, "you’re thick as pig sh*t," tennis.

I think people just have the wrong mindset when it comes to dieting. They’ll buy a diet chocolate milkshake because it’s, ‘only 143 calories, less than 40% of a normal milkshake.’ That’s not ‘saving’ anything, you’ve just drank an extra 143 calories - stop buying milkshakes.

I do wonder how the world is going to tackle the whole trans issue when a couple of male tennis players decide to transition. Supposing a couple of middle order ATP players like Tsonga and Evans came out and started smashing every female tennis event and every grand slam final was just those two. Can you imagine the likes of Serena and Osaka never getting beyond the semis and politely applauding the superior women who had beaten them again. Trans rights and feminism are basically locking horns, with people like J.K. Rowling and Navratilova proclaimed as trans-phobic by some. It's a debate which its pretty much impossible to come out of without being accused of something.

Weirdly, when I lived in Oslo for a couple of months I noticed that almost nobody there had thyroid problems and everyone had a high metabolism. Amazing how these medical conditions vary so much by region.

He had a seizure when given the Pfizer vaccine. Bill tried pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL but it didn't work.
-
It’s understandable really when you see so many news stories about different vaccines having a different efficacy against different variants. Also people want to know in case there’s a sudden outbreak of side effects from a certain vaccine.
-
And you believe a significant portion of the same cabinet and their medical advisors all suffer from the same mental illness simultaneously?
-
Yes, because they obtain money, women, property, infamy or some other valuable commodity from it. There’s none of that here; if you derive satisfaction from preventing complete strangers going to the pub you have a mental illness.

In what way? What are they getting out of us that they couldn’t dream of with a thriving, open economy?
-
Who are they then? It’s the media pushing these stories, not the politicians. They are the the ones with something to gain from panic inducing scare stories. The people who actually ‘control’ us, if you want to call it that, want the country open ASAP.

Looks like most parameters are consistently dropping by around 1/3 each week, which gives us a few options when we’re that happy hospital numbers are under control. Another promising sign from the stats is that whilst the number of people in hospital is roughly similar to the peak levels from April, the 7 day average for deaths is significantly lower. This would suggest to me that the improvements in treatment (I believe one drug was thought to reduce deaths by 20%) are having a noticeable affect on fatalities.

None of those players would add anything to our squad.

£5m more than we got for Carrillo or Boufal, who both cost the same or greater. I’d take that.

Was that true when we were top of the league?
