How does Trump always bring out the best in people.

Yep, that completely threw me when it came up with a big green, ‘impact outside’. I thought I’d misunderstood the rules of the game somehow, there was blatantly no shot played. Sadly he wasn’t out three balls later like the one yesterday.
-
That doesn’t mean we have any particular fan base over there. I doubt even our owners watch most of the games.

The fact that it’s just bad for democracy. In the same way that Corbyn basically let the Tories off scot-free at the last election, an insane and unelectable Republican candidate makes the next US election a foregone conclusion.

I asked a Spurs mate if we could have Hoj back after that thunderbolt he scored a few weeks ago. He text me again tonight basically saying ‘he’s yours if you still want him.’

I think being on loan in League 1 is as good as it’s going to get for him right now. If he isn’t getting a game there then he certainly isn’t going to here, so he hasn’t lost anything.

I think he was probably seen as the cheap option so that we wouldn’t have to bring in another forward, before Theo became available. Personally I’d rather have just let him go and had nobody instead. Ignoring Theo, we’ve had nothing from Long that Obafemi or N’Lundulu couldn’t have done.

That would be like giving the UKs first vaccine back in November and, 20 minutes later, asking if there had been a discernible drop in fatalities.
-
Why? He wouldn’t have played here either.

Liverpool only on 40 points, teams have gone down with 42 before. I'd be a bit worried if I was a Scouser, can't see them scoring another point all season.

I think it’ll be like a tap, they’ll keep gradually turning on and waiting for the water level to stabilise. The deciding factor will be what they think the NHS can cope with long term. I think we’ll get to a point where 99% of fatalities were on their way out this year anyway. If anything this might actually help reduce hospital loads in the long term. If people who would have otherwise needed months of chemo and surgery for lung cancer instead drop dead after a week in a Covid ward, we might see a shift in our treatment of the elderly.

Personally I decided Dubai in April is unlikely, going to go for an early booking for October and see what happens.

I do love a bit of irony. The people I know who are the most anti-Tory (not just on this thread) appear to be the most aggrieved that they haven’t instructed them on exactly how to live their lives. It’d make a great phone in question for the BBC’s daily briefings; "prime minister, what will the infection rates be like in Faliraki between 19-26 August?"

Tempted to try Vest and Sally together at the back as I think they could end up being the best pairing eventually. Otherwise agree.

He's gone from the Ghanaian Vegard Forren to the Ghanaian Ian Pearce. Let's hope he can progress to the Ghanaian Chris Lucketti and eventually the Ghanaian Claus Lundekvam.

You can book whatever you want, just don’t start crying about the government if it gets cancelled or you’re unable to travel when it comes to D-day.

People tagging each other on a "List of guys/girls who...." - Followed by a list of about 50 of the most popular names in circulation, on Facebook.

It was 37 years ago. Yes you do.

That’s not your opinion, that’s just obvious and it’s a straw man argument. Nobody wants that, if we do spend £20m we want to sign somebody good.

1001 deaths reported today, nearly half the 1820 reported on Tuesday, typically the worst day, three weeks ago. Lowest positive tests since mid October too.

Poll added, multiple choice.

11 years yesterday we beat MK Dons to reach the JPT final.

I think it’s more the fact that the Kent strain is more transmissible, combined with Christmas being a giant, super spreader event. The deaths seem reasonably in proportion with the number of admissions, compared to April. Hospital admissions were 30% higher at their peak this time but the spike was also significantly wider. I believe somebody said the Kent strain raised the R number by around 0.7 compared to the classic version, which looks plausible given the data we’ve seen. Has anyone got any data for deaths per hospitalisation on both spikes? Obviously deaths per case would be the ideal ratio but with so little testing last April that’s pretty much impossible.

They won’t be selling too many DVDs of this game.

The joke’s starting to wear a bit thin, I’ll give you that. I keep looking in the news for any hope of change. 1049 deaths today, down 1/3 on last Monday so that’s something, I guess.
