I’m not arguing that people aren’t entitled to their beliefs and opinions. If people choose to belief a magical sky man created the world in seven days, that’s up to them and it’s no skin off my nose. That doesn’t mean that they’re two equal choices and that both are implausible so you might as well flip a coin. One is a myth and violates all known laws of science. The other has been proven to be sound by scientific facts and is agreed upon by the greatest minds in human history.

Yes it does. We have proof that it’s option 2.

I know my enjoyment of watching Saints rests solely on having a good reserve left back.
-
Well, I guess he deserves his own thread then. Anyone seen much of him before, aside from the highlights videos?

Rooney retiring the other day was bad enough. I still remember the sentence, "remember the name, 16 year old Wayne Rooney!"

Stretching credibility here but there could be an added bonus of satisfying Jankewitz to an extent. If the likes of JWP and Diallo will be required to cover FB intermittently, he will get more game time. Perhaps the coaches have decided AJ in midfield and JWP at RB is better overall than JWP in midfield and Valery at RB. It wouldn’t be an entirely stupid line of thinking.
-
Agree. No doubt we wanted to bring in a full back and we’re definitely light there. Clearly the club don’t rate Vokins to the extent that they’d rather stick Diallo, Stephens, JWP or otherwise there if needed, which is a shame.

So is he the Japanese Steve De Ridder, the Scouse Elyounoussi or the new Tadanari Lee?

Any Premier League team which puts Shane Long on the pitch is short of options up front. I’d happily take a punt on Minamino rather than watch Long chase his own tail around the pitch for another minute.
-
No. Age and wages are definitely against him and I’m not sure he really offers that much in return. If he was going to be our best player then sure but really he’s just another option and money is tight.

"I'm sorry I can't be more optimistic but we've got a long road ahead of us. It's like having sex. It's a painstaking and arduous task that seems to go on and on forever, and just when you think things are going your way, nothing happens." -Lt. Frank Drebin

I was always left back for my school team. Left back in the changing room, the other boys made fun of me.

I know a certain Scotsman who’d disagree with you there.

It’s religion, you just make it up as you go along.

What if there’s no such thing as free will and all human endeavour and conscience is pre-determined?
-
What he wants and what someone is prepared to offer a 29 year old Championship striker are two different things. Especially as he hasn’t scored this season in the League.

It brings joy to my heart seeing this thread get bumped. God bless you all.

I thought that. I know it’s not a sustainable rate long term but if we can keep fairly close to it we really can have a decent summer.
-
New cases down another 10% today, the seven day average really is in free fall. ‘Only’ 587 deaths too, although it is a Sunday so caution needed on that one.

Sheff Utd are in deep sh*t. We’re 11th and having to be resourceful during a winter injury pile up.
-
600,000 vaccinations in one day. Fair play to everyone involved in that.

Why do people talk about form as if it will last forever.

The bookies must be making a fortune this season. The number of results nobody ever saw coming is amazing.

If last night's interpretation of the handball rule is correct I'm gobsmacked. I know if a ball deflects off a leg at some random, obtuse angle it shouldn't be given as handball but that's not what happened there. That was proper LBW, hot spot confirms a nick off the inside of the bat, third umpire stuff.

If anybody wants cheering up, today marks ten years since Liverpool made the utterly hilarious decision to sign Andy Carroll for £35m.
