I hate cleaning the oven, doesn't mean it's a difficult job. He will not be causing Van Dijk and company many problems this afternoon. Yes, he will probably win a few throw ins chasing defenders around but actual goals? No. I'm not sure how 'current' his scoring record is either. He has never been anything other than a 5-6 goals a season player at this level. He had one decent season under Koeman when he got 10. It's not confidence, he's a poor Premier League footballer and always has been.

Well... here goes nothing. Going to need slutty nuns aplenty to get through this one.
-
It only makes sense because we’ve got literally nobody else to play. This will be one of the easiest games of the season for Liverpool’s defence.
-
Wow, that’s a depressing team. 9 men in our own third and two just to run around after their defenders.

Id sell JWP as I've no idea what he offers other than fairly good set piece delivery. Otherwise he is largely just a passenger who doesn't fit into any of the formations we've tried and I've no idea what his position is supposed to be. I'm not a fan of Redmond but he does at least offer an outlet and the odd goal. If our squad was half decent he wouldn't be starting.

A game of football. Why are so many talking as if keeping the score down is some sort of achievement. We all but snatched a draw at the Etihad last season and somebody will stop Liverpool eventually. Imagine if Lyon went to Man City last night saying, 'lets try and keep it below 3-0'. Last season we just sat back and took a nice 'safe' 2-0/3-0 defeat in both games, it was pathetic. When we went 2-0 down at home, the players were playing as if this was an okay result for both sides and we'll all just see it out.

For me - Inside the 6 yard box, GK. Outside the 6 yard box, defender. The header was a good yard outside the 6 yard box and was also an excellent delivery.
-
I'd go with a 4-3-3/4-5-1: McC, Cedric, Vest, Yoshi, Bertrand, Lemina, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Armstrong, Redmond, Gabbi

I thought he was being booed for a foul on Moi, which he wasn't booked for. Seemed to stop about 10 minutes after that incident.
-
They dealt with everything thrown at them, even when the rest of the team in front of them had stopped playing, second half. Neither striker caused problems, Long especially. When put through on goal, he managed to 'control' the ball out for a goal kick, from further out than Hojbjerg's goal. Then he was put through again and just fell over. Then he fell over in the box again, looking for a penalty and grabbed the ball, so he gave away a free kick. Then he fell asleep and allowed Duffy a free header for their first goal. He is useless.

It will only be the point that keeps us up because of the other shed load of others we've thrown away. It's like congratulating MoPe for the draw at home to Udders last season because that kept us up.
-
How anyone can say Ings and Long were better than the two centre halves I have no idea. Fair play to Ings for the goal but he did little else. Long did nothing AND lost his man for a their first goal.

Complaining about the ref in this one is like leaving your wallet on your dashboard on a rough council estate, then complaining about crap the Police are when it gets nicked. We orchestrated that situation perfectly, I'm not sure what some of you were expecting.
-
True but when it's so close to the end, it's extra sickening. We just get worse and worse as the game goes on until it gets to the point, as against Everton and Man City, where we can't even stick it in the car park with 10 seconds left to get a result.
-
Just seen the replay, he was a good yard outside the box when he headed it. That's not a 'keepers ball IMO. Give credit to Brighton, it was an excellent delivery but Long gave them a free header.
-
We've proven we can at least play well. We have the talent and plenty of Premier League experience, even if a lot of it is mediocre. I'd certainly rather be us than Burnley, Newcastle, Udders or Cardiff. West Ham, Brighton and Fulham are hardly impressive either. Today was a small improvement on Leicester, which was a small improvement on Burnley (performance wise). I think we will be okay. We have at least settled on a starting 11, something Puel and MoPe never did.
-
I thought Hoedt had a good game, likewise Vest. It was silly mistakes from set pieces by Long and JWP which lead to the goals, nothing to do with Hoedt.
-
That was Long's man all day long. Half asleep and gave Duffy a free header.
-
4 of our last 8 games now. What is wrong with these players mentally, we just retreat into our own box and freeze, every time?
-
Flippin' heck Long.
-
Who's man was that? Looked like Long.
-
1 min? Hoedt was on the floor for 2 and we had a goal (not that I'm complaining).

He must have a foot like a traction engine!
