  1. No, he looks like a young player, making his PL debut in a struggling team.
  2. I’m amazed they both started, personally. Especially after Les and Fred were taken off after 60 minutes against Cardiff.
  3. Yes, that’s correct. Stephens has been here years and has shown himself to be a substandard Premier League player. THB is playing his third PL game for us and clearly needs a bit of time to adjust.
  4. I highly doubt many if any of the obese Americans out there have been studying published dietry guidelines. Quite the opposite, I think they're all just shovelling in convenient junk food because it's stuffed with salt or sugar and tastes nice.
  5. No, because they had more talent than anyone else around them. There are thousands of men out there who put just as much effort into football as kids and ended up working in a Halfords Autocentre. You can put a lot of effort into something AND be motivated by money, they aren't mutually exclusive. Some of the smartest, most motivated people I know left the UK to go and earn a pile of cash in the middle east, it's hardly uncommon. You're missing the point RE: Cantona and Bentley. Both could have played at the top level for a lot longer than they did, had they wanted to. Toney is a 28 year old with 6 England caps, Bentley was a 29 year old with 7 England caps, Cantona was a 30 year old playing for Man Utd. It happens.
  6. I tried to find that video from a couple of years ago of the TalkSport presenters being fooled by a prank about him being told, "you a not a loan." Doesn't seem to be anywhere on the interweb, nevermind. Welcome Max!
  7. I'd rather have him playing in the Hagrid costume than another game with McCarthy, personally.
  8. Why does it baffle you. Most footballers have a passion for the game but there are invariably a few for whom it's just a very, very well paid job. He'll earn an utterly obscene pile of cash for a couple of years working in Saudi Arabia, after which he can either stay for more cash, move to another league or just retire and spend the rest of his life doing what he wants. David Bentley, Eric Cantona and plenty of other have retired early because they just lost their passion for the game. It's not unreasoable.
  9. Mason Holgate with a chance to concede another five on debut, this time at Fratton for WBA.
  10. Awe-inspiring? No. Would I rather have him in the squad than Edozie, given a straight fifty fifty choice? Yes.
  11. I admire your optimism. Sadly, whats actually going to happen is that he'll get a recurring hamstring injury, making intermittent sub appearances in between, scoring one late consolation against Palace. Come January, some bright spark will have calculated that he actually scores every 150 minutes and that, "if we can sign him and he stays fit he'll be a real asset for us."
  12. Pick your battles. We've got many priorities above a promising, teenage leftback right now. Financially this almost cancels out Ross Stewart, not bad for a teenager who's been here a couple of year.
  13. Rubbernecks when there’s a motorway accident. Anyone coming south on the M3 this afternoon will know what I mean, half an hour sat in traffic for absolutely zero reason, other than people staring gormless at a couple of police cars.
  14. That was Mo’s Jack Leach moment, one off thirty two balls. Very well played though, getting Daws through to his tonne.
  15. Someone on Twitter is saying, "ubiquitous midget potato llama." Can anyone confirm this?
  16. I asked a Burnley fan what he thought of Maxwell, apparently he is different gravy
  17. We will remember them.
  18. He was partly responsible for dropping two against Watford and one at home to Millwall. How many is reasonable for a keeper over the course of a season?
  19. I believe it’s the same bloke who invented dirty innuendo. His widow is taking it very hard.
  20. I refuse to believe it until it’s verified by at least three hairdressers.
  21. All seems like wishful thinking (for some) and lazy journalism to me. I can’t see that he’d be a guaranteed starter here and it looks like Cornet is our second loan this year.
  22. Cornet was a heck of a player when he played for Umbro.
  23. Perhaps we ran out of lube for the thermometer.
  24. I’d rather Saints stayed up and we have other priorities away from CM.
  25. Yeah, that’s nonsense though, the pink shirt is a pink shirt, there’s no message behind it. Any resemblance to a trans pride flag is purely coincidental.
