I love these vague, ‘I know something but I’m not going to give any details’ posts.
-
Thanks Derbyshire, I guess.

Who was the last signing that genuinely got you excited?

In 2016 I was convinced we’d found two genuine future stars in Hojbjerg and Boufal. -
Correct. The other day I saw someone had written ‘Free Ian Watkins’ on a wall using human sh*te and I’ll admit I didn’t read that with an open mind either.

I think you need to rethink the moral of ‘The boy who cried ‘Wolf!’’, or in this case, the quack who cried ‘myocarditis’. I’ve long since stopped paying any attention to Tiss’ favourite vaccine-denying, lard connoisseur and his desperate quest for infamy. The thumbnail for that video alone is laughable enough, just scrolling through the thread. 23 and a bit million a year, so basically a Rwandan genocide in between every Saints home game but you know…. Not going to take them to court because it’ll just make a fuss.
-
Oh good, I look forward to seeing the full details of his lawsuit published in the very near future. You know, the one he’s definitely going to file against the government, Pfizer, AZ and co. With all of his definitely real evidence, which will definitely stand up in court. I do miss lockdowns though. As everyone knows, you’re not allowed to stay at home, alone, unless the government command you to and without that I was forced to go to Greece for a week in July. Hated every minute of it.

I watched that video with an open mind and I have to say, it’s completely changed my outlook, compared to what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be just another crackpot, Wakefield wannabe, quack with no real evidence of anything, but I was wrong. It’s actually exactly the same crackpot, Wakefield wannabe, quack with no real evidence of anything. Really makes you think….

Best guess, they’re using their strengths (better equipment, training and mobility) to mount lightning raids into Russian territory, capturing small settlements in the border Oblasts. This will boost morale in Ukraine, showing that they can fight back, as well as causing embarrassment and unrest in Russia. Putin will not be able to project his tough military image whilst part of Russia is under occupation for the first time since 1943 and will be forced to drag units away from where Russia is strongest, I.E. the slow moving, artillery dominated meat grinder in Donbas. He’ll be forced to keep a sizeable number of troops stationed across the length of the border from now on but they’ll be spread too thin to mount a meaningful offensive into Ukraine, with so many resources being tied up in the East.

What do you mean by 'even you'? I don't work for the Ukrainian government. You made the claim that Ukraine had suffered from massive losses of men and equipment for very little gain, then you said it was 10% of forces comitted. This is contrary to what I've seen in the news and on social media so, I asked where you were getting your information from. I've seen a video of a destroyed Russian convoy and footage from a Russian drone appearing to show them one destroyed Ukrainian tank. These are the only specific details I've seen so far as both sides are understandably tight lipped about both the forces and the losses in that area. Of course there have been Ukrainian losses in this invasion, it's a war. However, this post is the first time I've seen it confirmed that 100 men have died, or that 1,000 were comitted.

Last time Stan Collymore finished on a bottom it was in a National Trust car park.
-
Fair play, you must have seen some incredibly in-depth information that I just don't have access to. 10% is a very accurate number, considering nobody seems to know exactly how many troops are involved, or how many have been lost.
-
Which sources is that information coming from? Most of what I’ve seen on the news and Twitter points towards very minimal resistance and small losses in an attack that caught Russia totally by surprise.
-
Sigh.... here we go again.
-
They should sit down and negotiate a peace deal. Ukraine will give back Kursk if Russia promises not to join NATO.
-
I’m not sure you understand how negotiations work.
-
Agree, I thought he was decent. Booked Getafe players for most of their sh*thouse antics.
-
Our net spend so far this summer is only about £5m less than Brighton and we’re clearly looking to spend more in the next couple of weeks, so I don’t know where that idea has come from.
-
That was a dull as dull can be. Playing with two wide forwards didn't really lead to much and Getafe were pretty dirty, considering it was a preseason friendly. I thought their number six might throw himself to the floor if he'd tripped over that balloon.
-
That was the Leedsiest half I’ve ever seen.
-
He wasn’t in squad contention for the City game, which is what I was going on. You could also make an argument for Cork being better than Downes, although we’ve not seen enough of the latter at this level to really be definitive.
-
I think my combined team from all the players available in both those squads would be something like: Davis Clyne THB Fonte Taylor Morgan Downes Lallana Davis J Rod Lambert
-
I hadn’t realised Boruc was signed that late but he and Gazza were both better than Kelvin IMO, even if it was a bit of a revolving door for a few months. Yoshida was better than Hooiveld Clyne was better than Richardson/Butters Davis was better than Hammond J Rod was better than Sharp (he didn’t score for a while but he was definitely better) Ramirez played a role we never really played in the Championship but he was far better than the likes of Chaplow and De Ridder.

EFL kicking off on SS with Blackburn hosting Derby. Will be interesting to see if the three relegated teams are as dominant as we were (with the addition of Ipswich) last season.
-
That’s easily six players who came in and made a first team position obviously stronger. Plus we had the emergence of Shaw and JWP that season as serious first team options. That’s on top of the best team in the Championship the season before and we still lost something like eight of our first ten games. It’s a big step up.
