In the sense that our team isn’t really any better. Our strongest XI is basically last year’s team, minus Che and KWP, plus Taylor, Suga and BBD. I couldn’t in all good conscience call that stronger.

Bowled out in 26 overs, good grief.
-
I know it’s immature but I love hearing the ‘tators talking about somebody’s ‘biggest snatch’.
-
You’re looking at it the wrong way around, why would we play them? There’s no point wasting any preseason minutes on someone we have no intention of playing next year.
-
I used to do that when I could be bothered but you whine and whine and whine on every thread, constantly trying to get everyone else to gang up on you. It’s a weird form of masochism I can’t be arsed wasting my time with. There’s no point splitting this, or any other thread because you’ll just turn them all into the same thing. I primarily moderate the Saints forum because people come here to talk about football and we want that to stay on topic.

Day 800 of the 3 day special military operation. Ukraine invades Russia.
-
Can’t imagine we’ll see Holland back either TBH, especially with the likes of Albert, Jack and Kelly doing so well.
-
Interestingly we’ve signed Sonny Baker from Somerset. Don’t know anything about him beyond his wiki page but you have to assume another fast bowler will be departing.

I think it looks decent with white shorts. It’d probably look alright with black too, or basically anything but the girl’s sleepover, pink pyjamas look.

I’ll see you Bennett and raise you Holgate.

No we don’t, he does the things we need a keeper to do. Nobody cares about distribution or being comfortable on the ball, that’s not important for a keeper. Apparently.

Dom Kelly, tickabooson! Hattrick and a fivefer with the final ball of the game.

The human race is inherently racist, it’s a survival instinct. It dissipates with social and economic prosperity and rears its head again in times of trouble. Always has done throughout history. The Uk is no worse than any other country.

Heading for a big win here, Derbs on the ropes. Ross Whiteley chews up a bunch of deliveries before getting out for 2, sound familiar?
-
I’m just glad we never signed Demba Ab.
-
Alcaraz had a brief purple patch when he joined up and has done very little since. He’s the new Boufal, people talk about what a player he’d be if he could play his top 5% games all the time.

Aside from Green, Lancs were dreadful. Must have been an absolute quarry of a wicket.

In the sense that the people who normal argue transgender issues from a standpoint of what somebody feels must be correct are now demanding definitions and evidence, which you’ve failed to satisfy. For the sake of helping the debate move along, the definition of a woman is; ‘a person whose reproductive organs, if healthy and free from deformity, would produce eggs upon reaching sexual maturity.’ Would you agree or disagree on that?
-
Ha! This thread is amazing, people have completely swapped arguments from when a transgender issue comes up. A psychologist would have a field day on this forum.

To me this conversation just highlights the harm done to society by the whole umbrella acronym of LGBTAIQ+. This topic has pretty much nothing to do with anybody of an LGB sexuality or anybody suffering from gender dysphoria but it seems to be the same arguments going round and round again. Khelif seems to have attracted much more attention from both sides of the argument than I ever remember for Caster Semenya and that probably isn't helped by having the likes of Leah Thomas 'identifying' as being on the women's swim team, even though they're two completely different issues.

I think I bought a Diblijg in IKEA last week.

It needs to be an astonishing last month of the transfer window to finish anywhere other than 20th. Then it’s two from Forrest, Leicester and Ipswich joining us IMO. The league will probably be City again.

Russ and the coaches probably thought players like Sully and Edozie would be better to bring on in than the likes of SAA. Very often when you bring on players like that you need them to force a result. Playing players on the ‘odd occasion’ for a few minutes isn’t really going to help. Only regular football will really do that. The point about 2008 was that blindly saying young players can’t possibly be worse than senior, underperforming players isn’t true. There’s no reason at all to think that SAA would have been a better option than Sully.

I don’t remember people being quite so certain of promotion when we were 12 points adrift of Leicester and Ipswich and facing the almost certain lottery of the playoffs. We needed our foot flat to the floor with maximum possible points in every game. There was no time for any passengers, Russ had to go with the best players available. Didn’t Mara score five in a reserve game last season? People said all this stuff in 2008, then when we were actually forced into playing the kids they were worse than what we had before and we got relegated.
