  1. Nobody knows but he has been doing it for as long as I've been posting on this board (best part of a decade now). He's not going to stop so for the sanity of everyone please just put him on the ignore list and don't talk to him. Everyone has figured out his ramblings are nonsensical, distorted negativity and bare no relation to real life. You don't need to point this out to us and wont look any more intelligent by pointing out the obvious, i.e. we aren't going down this season.
  2. Me, all my family and to the best of my knowledge pretty much all of my friends.
  3. I'd like us to send Lambert back to Bristol Rovers too. Been looking at the bottom of League 2 and I'd hate for them to get relegated, if you catch my drift.
  4. The new McLaren. About as pretty as Steve The Lotus, which I sort of like

    Ukraine

All getting a bit messy over there, reports of protestors being shot dead. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-25868765
  6. Negredo is about 5 years older I think and was bought from a club with financial difficulties. Both will lower his price.
  7. Value is pretty much meaningless as it depends on who is buying and selling. A couple of years ago Carroll was 'worth' £35m at a similar age to JRod and with a similar scoring record. Jay won't be worth £35m because Liverpool haven't sold anyone for £50m this week. I doubt the club would sell him for less than £20m so you could argue he is worth that.
  8. The new Force India
  9. Let's hope the designers have taken inspiration from some of history's beautiful low nosed cars, like the MP4-20 or the FW16
  10. I can sort of see the logic behind double points but it does sort of make a mockery of the system when the Abu Dhabi race is worth double the others, for no reason other than being the last. It will be a bit silly if a driver builds up a deserved lead over the course of the year, then his engine fails in UAE and somebody overhauls him with a 50 point race win. Reminds me of Top Gear when the final challenge makes the points earned in previous challenges entirely redundant. Not sure how the noses will look. I've seen some of those sketches with the elephant noses and others with vanity panels. I doubt we will see exactly what teams are running until Melbourne. The official car launches often have parts of an airfix kit glued on to the side to throw other teams off. Secret aero parts are seldom revealed until the last minute. Whatever happens, I doubt the cars will be uglier than the stepped noses of 2012.
  11. Today Caterham confirmed its driver line-up for the season. Rookie Marcus Ericsson is joined by the popular Kamui Kobayashi, the later having spent 2013 endurance racing for Ferrari. This completed the F1 grid for the new season and most car launches are scheduled for this week, ahead of the first test in Jerez. Only Mercedes and Marussia are maintaining the same driver pairings from last season. Significant moves include Kimi Raikkonen going from cash strapped Lotus back to Ferrari, who sacked him at the end of 2009. Daniel Ricciardo takes arguably the hottest seat available, replacing the retired Mark Webber at Red Bull. Kevin Magnussen appears to be the best placed rookie on the grid, replacing Sergio Perez alongside Button at Mclaren. The third and final rookie is Russian Daniel Kyvat. The 19 year old won the GP3 championship and replaces Ricciardo at Toro Rosso, becoming the youngest driver on the grid. 3 rookies and the returning Kobayashi means there is no space on the grid for Paul Di Resta, who returns to DTM with Mercedes or the two 2013 Caterhm drivers, Geido Van der Garde and Charles Pic. There are also significant changes to the calendar. The season starts with the traditional curtain raiser in Melbourne but will go on to feature the brand new Sochi circuit for the Russian GP in October. The Austrian GP returns to the calendar after an 11 year gap at the A1 Ring, now refurbished by owners Red Bull. As usual however, I will be sacrificing small animals to Satan in exchange for a trip to the Belgin GP at Spa. Custom driver numbers will also return to the sport, with drivers taking a number for their whole career. The reigning champion has the option of using #1 in favour of his personal number. Vetted has taken this option. Other numbers of interest are 22 for Button, the number he won the championship with in 2009 and 44 for Hamilton, a favourite he used in karting. McLaren will be the first to launch their car, on Friday. After ending their partnership with Vodafone it is suspected they will return to a chrome and black livery, without the red from previous seasons. It will be their last season running Mercedes engines before a return to the partnership with Honda, which brought them multiple championships with the likes Senna and Prost in the 80s.
  12. Yes, with the much maligned Hooiveld in the team. With Boruc and Shaw around him, he is adequate back up. The problems come with Fox and Gazza/Kelvin, like Newcastle last year or Spurs this year. Keep them away from the side and Jos is okay.
  13. I don't actually think Jos is that bad. Not a first choice but he will do a job for a couple of weeks. He made a mistake against Newcastle but other than that managed to keep a very good attacking side quiet at home. Same at Arsenal, where neither goal was anything to do with him. With decent players around him he is alright. The problems start when you add Gazza and Fox into the equation, who are a liability IMO. I don't get the perception of Yoshi as being poor either. He was a very good defender last year and his reputation seems to have been destroyed despite barely playing. I don't think we have a problem at CB personally. I'm more concerned about our #2 LB and keeper.
  14. I find this goes well with a white meat, served slightly chilled.
  15. Think you're being a bit dramatic, that's half a year away and Lovren didn't even need hospital treatment. Doesn't look good though.
  16. Players like Jos and Fox were good enough to come second in the Championship, they should be good enough to get the job done at home to Yeovil. I'd go with: Kelvin Clyne - Yoshi - Jos - Fox Wanyama - Cork JWP - Reed - Davis Osvaldo
  17. I was just pointing out the contradiction in someone saying we can win the FA Cup but we will probably get knocked out if we get drawn away to a big club. If we want to win the cup we will have to beat one or 2 big boys on the way, probably at either a neutral venue or possibly an away tie.
  18. That will involve beating at least one big club 99% of the time. The Skates getting West Brom in the semis and Cardiff in the final was very rare and even they had to win at Old Trafford to get to the final.
  19. And then saying, "boring!" If we draw anything other than a trip to Old Trafford, Anfield or the Emirates. I disagree with Griffo, nobody is going to be happy to get knocked out and we certainly aren't, "probably going to lose". It's a lower league team at home for crying out loud. They may be a decent Championship team but Fox, Jos and Kelvin were decent Championship players. If our reserves were League 1 quality I'd be worried but they aren't, we don't have anyone that bad in the squad.
  20. Microscopic compared to the money gained from promotion. They would be foolish to risk a player like Ings getting injured tomorrow.
  21. Each to their own, personally I don't find January that horrendous. I can certainly live without watching football for a month, especially if it means the summer break is a month shorter.
  22. I'm surprised there is anyone who doesn't have him on their ignore list. His ramblings are utterly pointless and it is well know he just posts nonsense in the hope of a tedious argument. There really is no point what so ever in talking to him.
  23. I'd keep the traditional Boxing day and New Years fixtures, then have a break after that. Obviously we would have to make sure our players maintain their fitness over the break but I don't think a weeks holiday in the new year is going to turn them all in to Ade Akinfenwa. If we were allowed to organise our own training regime over January without the need to play any matches, our players would come back in February much fresher and fitter than they are now.
  24. I'd be in favour of a winter break personally, it would only mean the tedious summer break is a month shorter. It should mean fewer injuries and matches cancelled due to weather, particularly in the lower leagues. I think it would also mean stronger teams in the cups, whereas at the moment we're asking already tired players to play 6 games in 3 weeks over the Xmas period. I'd have a new years day fixture, then nothing until 1st weekend of Feb. I do like the idea of a CL spot for the FA Cup winners though. Also U23s only in the LC or something like that.
