I asked my Liverpool supporting mate (from Norfolk I sh*t you not) what he thought of LALAL so far and he called me a smug tuuat and told me to f' off. It's hard to draw conclusions from such a short statement but the general impression I got was that he isn't happy.

At what point does winning every game get tedious?

If that's him on the far left, he is playing further up the pitch than Leicester's strikers did today.

Wonder if any of the Lallana payments are appearance based. Could be a few years before we get our money.
-
Tadic for me, he has that little something special to unlock defences. I could so easily have given it to Pelle, Wanyama, Morgan, Clyne, Toby, Fonte or Bertrand. Then there are Cork, Davis and Forster who have been consistent and done little wrong. The agony of choice.

Better than the Vergini o.g.? Looked an absolute howler from where I was sat.

I haven't seen anything to suggest we only have £10m to spend. Pelle himself cost less than that, as did JRod. I think you can find a much better player than Lambert for under £10m. He would turn 33 about a month after we would sign him in January and at that age players go down hill fairly steadily. It's all well and good saying his game isn't about pace but in for periods of last season he looked lethargic and lacked the energy to lead the line. We've had by far the best years out of Lambert and quadrupled our money. That's a success on all fronts, it's time to let go. I'm sure our scouts have been looking at much better targets.
-
Not for me thanks. Taking all sentimentality out of the equation, if someone asked which player I want to sign in January, a 32 year old who can't score or even get on the pitch at Liverpool wouldn't be my answer.

I think the often hilarious Glen Johnson may also be a factor.

Will Roko and the board go for broke in January!!!

The football equivalent of 'I'm not racist but...' I think what Redslo is trying to say is that we need to sign Cherno Samba and Tonton Moukoko in January. -

Walcott the first team regular at Arsenal? I'll have a pint of whatever you're drinking. Huntelaar would be a decent shout if he would take a reasonable wage offer for a 2.5 year deal. Imagine bringing him on for Pelle with 25 minutes left, or both if strategy dictates 2 up front. -

Teams like Bilbao, Braga, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Rangers have all made the final in recent seasons. None of them are what you would call giants. -

What makes you say that. IF we were to qualify and make it into the group stage we wouldn't be playing 3 European giants. Even this season's sh*t Liverpool team stand a good chance of making it into the knock out phase. I can't see this Saints team getting slaughtered in the CL group stage. Maybe by Madrid, Bayern, Barca or Dortmund but we could give the rest of them a game. -
I seem to remember in our last/penultimate game of Pardew's season we had Carlisle at home and Harte scored an absolute belter of a free kick. Every bit as good as the ones he used to score for Leeds when the big debate was him or Beckham. The game was completely meaningless and when that went in everyone around me just looked at each other and said, "fair enough, you can't really argue with that." There were a few people clapping too. I was at Stoke last year too and had a chuckle at Begovic's goal.

If you take Suarez out of last years Liverpool they would have been down around 7th or 8th with us and Man Utd. That would have elevated Everton to 4th in last years table. Not flawless logic but they would seem the most probable team. Does this Saints team really look worse than last years Everton? Not to me. If we can catch a couple of teams like Arsenal and Man Utd with their pants down at St Mary's I don't see why 4th is implausible.

Which Pelle goal are you referring to. They (the two against Sunderland) were both fairly ordinary.

I'm completely disillusioned with my current industry and want out. Obviously Saints Web isn't the basis of my careers advice, nether the less I wondered if anyone had any recommendations. I'm a sciencey, technology kind of bloke with A levels in maths and physics.

F**king have that!!

Lallana an unused substitute as Livepool lose again. Enjoy the Bernabeau chaps.

Okay, I'm done talking to a man who backs up his arguments by pretending he can't understand basic sentences. Good night everyone! If anyone cares, I was talking about Champions League football in response to this post.

Nobody said that, you've just conjured it out of thin air. Sure there is a buzz following a cup win but how long does it last? A few days, weeks, a couple of months? I think I would get more of a buzz out of playing in the Champions League if we could qualify. Supposing we had a European campaign with two trips to places like Madrid, Barca, Roma, Juve, Bayern, Dortmund, PSG and Porto. To some that is as good as, maybe better than, a Wembley cup final. Maybe not to you, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. The people who would prefer a couple of decent European away days to a cup win should at least be respected, not met with the tedious, flippant, condescending sarcasm that CB Fry and Turkish seem to revel in.

1 - Says who? Liverpool only have to be better than Basel and Ludogorets to go through to the knockout stage. The fact that they aren't is hilarious but you hardly have to be world beaters to make it out the group (assuming we could get through the qualifier) 2 - To watch good football. I would much rather watch the football we've seen over the last 18 months, rather than win a cup sell our best players and have to sit there watching us lose at home to Villa and Sunderland all season. 3 - I wouldn't prefer immediate success if it's at the expense of the future. Birmingham and Pompey both had their 'instant success' look where they both are now. You would honestly rather win a cup and have an average league season? You would happily see our best players and Koeman leaving IF it was following a cup win? 4 - To me a cup is a fun day out but that's about it. If I'm sat watching garbage football, to me it is little consolation knowing there is a tin pot locked in a cupboard somewhere in the stadium. I wouldn't want a season like Sunderland just had, even if they had won the cup final.
