  1. I was there for that one too. Think I aged about 50 years over the course of that game. Going 2-0, 2-2, 4-2, 4-4 against one of your closest promotion rivals isn't good for the blood pressure.
  2. That would explain all the adverts for gay fetishist ocean cruises I keep getting.
  3. Exactly. Pretty much every club will have players saying stuff like this about their manager. I remember players being full of praise for Jan Poortvleit.
  4. Is this one of those threads where people get outraged over something nobody has actually said? There aren't any haters, nobody is writing him off, saying he is sh*t, saying he isn't good enough for the Premier League or anything like that. It's just fair honest criticism of his overall game, the same as any other player. He isn't beyond criticism just because he is a local, academy grown player. He needs to improve his final ball and his shooting if he is to keep his place in the team. Lallana wont get into a top 6 team playing like he did last season and that is where Saints have to be aiming.
  5. The depth can be deceptive but I'd have said that train was doing well North of a tonne when the accident happened. Certainly look far in excess of what would 'look' to be a safe speed around a bend like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytHe8aJyjfk
  6. Kenwyne Jones, he could do either. If I had to choose though, striker. I don't think Lambert will score as many this season and I think some teams were starting to figure him out. JRod I think will be better but I can't see him banging in 20 and getting on the plane to Brazil just yet. Mayuka has yet to score at all and with only a handful of goals coming from midfield I think we need more firepower up front. CB I am reasonably happy with, although I think we can do better than Jose and Jos.
  7. I think I know the place you mean, we went there last Christmas.
  8. Scott, if we signed Thomas Oar from Utrecht it's really going to screw with your OCD.
  9. He just phoned Cortese and said, "I'm you're man!"
  10. I said similar things towards the end of last season. Whilst most of our players seemed to improve with experience last year, I felt Adam did relatively little and seemed to ghost through the season, always being there but making minimal impact. He needs a big step up next year. He has gone from being one of out strongest players in the lower divisions to being one of the weaker players in our current starting 11.
  11. What record? BWP was never convicted of anything.
  12. Can someone please find a blurry picture of a black guy taken from a hotel window, so we can have a long discussion about the shape of his ear lobes. Thanks xxx
  13. Beattie in the qualifiers, Saganowski in the groups.
  14. Didn't some Danish people get in trouble for drawing Mohammed?
  15. Guessing you are going with wiki. I'm going with Soccerbase which says he scored 2 in the Swiss League last year and 8 the year before (plus 3 for Zambia)
  16. Not nessy celery. I wouldn't be surprised if we went for 2 attacking players. We've only really got Lambert and JRod, the rest aren't really up to it.
  17. Young, quick, scores goals, based in Italy. Certainly ticks all the right boxes for a Saints transfer. I'd be happy to see him here, he looks like a much better option than Mayuka off the bench.
  18. Vydra scored 24 in 51 apps last year. Mayuka scored 2 in 22 apps (both in the Swiss League) I'm sorry but there is no comparison for me there. Vydra every time. He may not get into the starting 11 but it's not just the 11 we need to think about. We need some first choice bench options, if that makes sense. At the moment Mayuka is probably our strongest 'let's bring on some pace up front' player and so far he hasn't proven that effective. So from that p.o.v. Vydra would be a significant improvement IMO.
  19. Was driving oop norf late last night and the radio news bulletins seemed to be running a competition between each other to come up with the most pointless and irrelevant information possible. One station had some nutter call in just to say, "ooooh, they should call the baby Egbert hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Which caused the presenter to also burst into hysterics. Another station informed me that a pizza delivery service in Manhattan was running a 30% discount to anyone who used the promo code, 'Royalbaby1' when ordering online. Fascinating.
  20. I think he would be an improvement in some cases. Certainly quicker than Lambert, with an equally impressive scoring record in the Championship as any of our strikers. Would probably be an improvement on Sharp and Mayuka. We've only really got 2 decent strikers and I wouldn't mind seeing 2 more. Vydra and Damiao would be a brilliant window.
  21. Born on a full moon in a thunderstorm. Brilliant.
  22. Is there an actual number we have to stay below? I thought it could be anything up to 99, after all Judy has #42 Shaw #3, Wanyama #14, Yoshi #15, Lovren #16, Isgrove #17, Mayuka #19 and Chambers #22 would all make sense. I'm guessing whichever striker we do eventually get will take #11.
  23. Doesn't mater if he was on £70k a week here, he will only get what people are willing to offer.
  24. Depending on the formation we are 1 down in the attacking midfield/striker role. I'm guessing maybe Jrod or Guly will get the full 90.
