  1. If Adkins makes it until October 13th he will become our longest serving manager since Strachan left 8 years ago. If he lasts another 8 months he will be the longest serving manager since Nicholl left in 1991.
  2. The Cardiff winger? You're entitled to your opinion but I don't think he's the man for the job. I'd stick with Adkins personally.
  3. A country as small as Britain just cannot support an independant aircraft manufacturer any more. It's not just UK companies, Aerospatiale, CASA, Fokker etc. are all gone. SAAB are still around but wont be building anything new. Even large companies back by wealthy governments in Russia and US couldn't stay afloat. McDonnell Douglas were bought out by Boeing. Ilyushin, Tupolev, Yakolev and a few other Russian manufacturers are all being merged.
  4. That man did so much to make F1 safer and drivers like Rubens Barrichello and Mika Hakkinen are just a couple who owe him their lives. He will be sadly missed.
  5. Saw Darren Powell attempting to kick the ball a couple of times, that would have been amusing if he wasn't on our team. The only player I've ever seen put a header into the car park at St Mary's.
  6. On the hill on the way in to Pouhon.
  7. They weren't all wreckless driving on RoGro's part though, in Melbourne for example Maldonnado smashed into the side of him. Deserves a ban for the Spa accident though, that was dangerous and very poor driving on his behalf. Was a great weekend away only did the Saturday and Sunday so had brilliant weather all weekend, even if we did wake up to frost outside the tent on Sunday morning. I was gutted for the Sauber team, a decent result could have put them up with Mercedes in the WDC table and they both get taken out in turn 1. Hopefully they can still pull it off in the remainign races.
  8. Can't be arsed looking through this thread but I'd have thought Rasiak's old song would fit the bill
  9. Rickie Lambert played along side Brett Ormerod in one game, a League 2 match between Blackpool and Wrexham in 1999.
  10. Steve De Ridder and Jan Paul Saeijs played together at De Graafschap the year before Steve signed. Never played together at Saints obviously.
  11. On paper weaker than the two Manc clubs but I still don't see us getting anything from them. Will be interesting to see how our new signings fit into the team. I'd go with a team of Davis Clyne - Yoshida - Hooiveld - Fox (if fit) Davis - Morgan - JWP Puncheon - Lambert - Lallana Subs: Gazza, Fonte, Chaplow, Ramirez, Yukka, J Rod, Lee What a bench that is BTW.
  12. I thought Oldham was the highest club in League Football.
  13. Hammond - Sixth choice central midfielder by my reckoning and that doesn't include Lallana Dickson - Wont get a look in De Ridder - Isn't going to get in ahead of Mayuka or hopefully Ramirez. Loan him out, might be useful in the Championship next year. Guly - I don't rate him that highly and I don't really think he suits our new system. Butters - 3rd choice RB and also getting on a bit. Chaplow - As with De Ridder, he could be a useful NpC player next season so a loan out. Seaborne - Don't rate him as a PL player but we need more cover before he goes.
  14. That's where you're going wrong IMO. Harding is not a great player, he is a competant Championship player. There is nothing wrong with that but Harding will never be Premier League standard. Some players will make the step up, others wont. It would be foolish not to strengthen are options in any area of the team in the hope that ALL our Championship defenders are actually Premier League quality. What you are doing is crying to mummy about how the nasty dog bites you, whilst you stand their waving your pork sword in it's face. You know exactly what is going on and still feel the need to entertain this muppet with a response. Please stop.
  15. More to the point he was often chucked into games which weren't going our way and needed to change things. In many of the 20 minute appearances in which he failed to impress, the rest of the team were crap for the full 90.
  16. 1. All that Spuds stuff has been ANNOUNCED in less than 24 hours. Negotiations could have been going on privately for days or even weeks. 2. Transfers are like bits of string. Just because Spurs have a 10cm piece of string, doesn't mean all pieces of string are 10 cm. We don't. We just haven't been endlessly badgering Fulhams journalist on Twitter about who Fulham are signing.
  17. I don't think we've seen anything close to his best last season. I'd be inclined to loan him out to an NpC club where he can get regular football, then make a judgement next season on what to do with him. If he goes on loan and plays a blinder, he could be pretty useful next year should we get relegated.
  18. No thread yet? The last game finished over an hour ago FFS! I'm quite looking forward to this actually. I trust in Adkins to have learned a lot of lessons from the Wigan game and I hope we will get a more organised performance at least, even if the result probably wont be much better. As for the team... Davis Clyne Hooiveld *Surely, surely we will have signed a centre half before the window closes Fox... or.... Davis Morgan Lallana Mayuka Lambert Lee Subs: Gazza, Fonte, JWP, Puncheon, Sharp, Rodriguez, Ramirez (dare to believe people!)
  19. More of a wide forward in our system. If he is playing out wide instead of Guly or Rod that's fine by me. Lambert, Rod, Sharp, Lee, Mayuka, Puncheon, Guly, Lallana, Ramirez? That's a lot of attacking tallent right there. Welcome aboard Yukka!
  20. I'd agree with that. Jordan Robertson orphaned a couple of children changing his ipod, so why people think drink driving is no big deal is beyond me.
  21. Those cyclists are a filthy bunch.
  22. We wont have properly made it until at least 2 of our players have been caught kn*bbing Danielle Lloyd. My money is on Jos and Steve, they seem a pair of lads.
  23. I talk to the (fairly small) group of people I liked at school on Facebook if I want to. I'm not really bothere about seeing the rest if I'm honnest, although I probably would go to a reunion out of idle curiosity. See if any hotties have turned into fat *****rs and vice versa.
  24. I remember being repeated told that anyone who can't see what Jermaine Wright brings to a team was clueless and knew nothing about football. I think I must be a bit thick because 6 years later I'm still none the wiser.
  25. And before Guly and Puncheon we had those useless black players Paul Telfer, Mikel Nilsson and Calum Davenport. You're right, it's weird how all the players being criticised at the moment are black. Fonte, Fox, Rodriguez and Kelvin. Still, none of those players would have taken any abuse what so ever if they'd come through our accademy. Players like Lloyd James, Simon Gillett and Ollie Lancashire were universally popular on here, just because they came through our youth system.
