Very good news that we've got the work permit and he's ready to sign. -
Pedant

That would be why he's commentating rather than managing. Have to say he does his job well enough.

The FAYC isn't until Wednesday. The game this morning is a youth league game against Palace. That won't stop the best of the kids from going to the Rixcoh.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

Rhodes would be great, but it's unlikely. Unlike CMS who also scored a whole load of goals in L1, Rhodes is a very clinical finisher so a PL team probably would take a chance. I'd j1zz myself if we got him. -

He came from a team in Hiroshima. Any bomb references? -
Who's stadium is that? Would be immense with corners presuming the stands you don't see in the picture are just as imposing. The Valley looks good when you don't put that awful away end in the picture.

It looks good from the outside and should look good inside when the gaps have seats in them. Facilities in the ground are good, Stewards are helpful and friendly, food is good. Atmosphere isn't great, but it would be better with the gaps filled in. My biggest complaint has to be the location. Going by train for me would mean changing twice a fighting through crowds, which I couldn't be arsed with, so we drove. You have to book a parking space, if not at the ground, in the university. Leave it too late to book a space and you end up with a space a long way from the ground. A lot of people get held up in the roads around Brighton and pull over on the busy A27 so that they can drop passengers off for them to avoid missing kickofff. For the expansion to be viable, they'd need another seriously large car park. Although St Mary's has its faults, the location is great. It doesn't really matter that they didn't build the station on the side of the stadium because you can combine football with a day out in Southampton. Maybe I'm biased, but I wouldn't want to go to the Amex regualarly.

In the cup, he's been supporting the useless Forte, so it's no surprise his hard work hasn't come to much. I thought he was excellent against Preston and by the sounds of it decent against Palace.
-
The ref at St Mary's gave us a penalty that was clearly outside the box. You win some, you lose some. There's no point in dwelling on refereeing decisions. Lambert's arm was raised and I don't dispute the red card, but the behaviour of the defender is very unsporting and fakery should be made a yellow card offence to crack down on it. At the World Cup I recall Kaka walking into an Ivory Coast player and getting sent off because the player went down holding his face.

Most of Sickipedia isn't funny. Mainly because of all the ****s who don't even make an effort or whose jokes are just ****. I love thegood ones though.

I'd stick with the strongest available side for this one and ring the changes in the cup match. Davis, Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox De Ridder, Hammond, Cork, Lallana Lambert, Connolly Although if Connolly isn't deemed match fit enough to start, stick him on the bench and put Guly in there. The match is likely to naeed Connolly at some point.

We haven't played those games yet or seen what we're going to do in January and you're automatically writing us off? Miserable c*nt

I find it hard to believe that big clubs won't end up hoarding players. Your theory relies on kids with potential, some of whom clubs have paid 5 or 6 figure sums for, being allowed to go for free.
-
They'd never hire him on MOTD because he was a FL journeyman rather than a PL superstar. It's a shame that they work like that.

I usually go to bed before it comes on and watch it on Iplayer the following morning. Other than the featured game, the individual teams get very little coverage and Claridge barely has time to string a sentence together. I can use Saintsplayer to get a far more detailed analysis. I ca also use my login to access the player of other teams. The program will always be crap if they insist on cramming all 72 teams onto one show.

He's listed on FM as a scout for us.
-
Jakob Fris-Hansen? He is our European scout. Would have expected him to be looking at more realistic targets.
-
He works very hard and finishes his chances. Not the quickest, but he often finds space behind defences. He's basically an upgrade on Barnard.
-
I'm surprised to learn that DJ Campbell is 30 He must have been older than I thought he was when he came from the non-league. He wouldn't fit with our plan of building for the future. Austin is no better than those others mentioned. I personally don't really like him as a player either. Too much like Rasiak for my liking - always in the right place for a ball in the box, but not a team player. I'd take Sharp or Maynard over either of those.
-
The outstanding Championship striker already plays for us. Most of the strikers that come close play for teams in the promotion race as well and wouldn't sign for us. Of the rest, there's Jutkiewicz, Sharp, Maynard, Sordell and Jay Rod. Rhodes from L1 too. I'm sure that any one of those could do a job. We're not in the PL yet and if one of those can get us there (which I think they can) it will be money well spent. All of those are good players with enough dimensions to their game to adapt to the PL in the right setup. Let's imagine that we haven't found a suitable striker from abroad yet, who do you suggest bringing in?

I can live with a few arrogant dicks if they're prepared to knuckle down with everyone else. We don't want more Puncheons though who go off in a strop if their place gets taken by someone who deserves it more.
-
Their respective clubs are welcoime to them. It's possible for very gifted players like Adam Lallana to be decent lads. Lionel Messi is supposedly pretty honest and well-balanced too. Not signing dicks will mak us a better team.

We have a policy of screening new players for character and attitude from the first team, right down to the nippers joining the academy. It's a very good policy to have for the sake of team bonding and making it easier for the management to get down to the intricacies of tactics and training. The academy has always done it, like when we kicked Nile Ranger out for being a misbehaving **** even though he was (still is) a talented footballer. Judging by his exploits at Newcastle, we made the right choice.

Buy tickets from the ticket office at St Mary's and you don't have to pay it.
