  1. I'll be more specific then: American sitcoms that aren't funny and the actors in them Remakes of quality British comedy/drama and actors associated Glee, Gleetards and all actors associated A-listers that appear on chat shows because they have something to plug even though they are shallow and dull Noisy morons Far right and far left political commentators Fat Americans American tourists
  2. stick dog food up her chuff and bring in the dog
  3. The team is more valuable than its constituent parts. The way we build ourselves around him and our team play revolves around him, I honestly wouldn't. Lallana and Young in the same Saints team would make me jizz though.
  4. Simon Cowell Stephen K Amos Jeremy Vine Steve Claridge Fearne Cotton Most Americans
  5. The big boys still go crazy for pace and power, 2 things you probably wouldn't associate with Adam Lallana. What's great about him is that it's taken so long for it to be recognised that he doesn't need them. He controls games, he has influence. It's a rare quality in English players. Not many others can do it. Chamberlain couldn't do it in Lallana's absence last season although he may develop that quality with experience. The England team that played Wales really lacked someone to keep possession, bring others into play and control the game, which meant we only saw the odd flash and we were very fortunate that was enough. I think only really Lallana and Wilshere have that quality. For me, that more than makes up for sometimes taking one too many touch or being a bit powder puff in front of goal. For that reason, I wouldn't swap him for any of turrent England squad at this moment in time.
  6. He's a right place, right time type of player. Screamers and skills are good for the videos but mean nowt for a goalscorer.
  7. I'm amazed to see how many people believe this 2 + 2 = 5 rumour has legs. With his new contract, we're looking at Maynard money and for a 29 year old with no experience above L1, it's laughable. Rumours should be plausible fact or fiction, positive or negatiive. This isn't. If he wanted to leave, he wouldn't have signed a new contract or declared that he wants to end his career here.
  8. It's a coincidence. Awful rumour.
  9. He's a very talented player with a good attitude. If a decision to stay is made for him, he's not going to sit and sulk in the reserves and risk setting his career back enormously. He'd be out of his mind to let that happen at his age and with so much promise. No-one can force him to stay longer than his contract. If for us its a choice between £10m now or say £7.5m next summer and keeping him for a season, I'd take the latter. On his relatively small wages, I'd argue that it would be worthwhile to keep him on as a player that could be a catalyst to promotion. Risking a slight loss on him would be no different to signing a new player with that difference. Cortese is entitled to price bidders out if he doesn't want to sell. Our plans don't inlcude selling him, so the kid's attitude to the situation is his problem way more than it is ours.
  10. I'm imagining Alex tied to a chair in front of a Mirror hack with Mark Chamberlain poking him with a cattle-prod.
  11. Mellor plays for Sheffield Wednesday
  12. Leicester look set to bankrupt the owners if it doesn't work out for them. IMO, it will take their squad a while to gel by which time they'll have missed out on automatics. I'll laugh if Sven gets the sack before Christmas.
  13. Too heavy fitness training makes the players tired and their muscles fatigued. A good pre-season needs the right balance of work and rest. Too much work and the players come out flagging. Not enough work and they come back out of shape and looking like they haven't kicked a ball all summer.
  14. We should never underestimate the power of a great team ethic. Swansea have kept a lot of players from their time in L1/L2, kept playing the same way, not been crazy with the chequebook and look where they are now. Man for man, are they that much better than us? I'd say probably not, but they have managed to play some fantastic football and get themselves promoted. Because of their team chemistry, IMO they stand the best chance of staying up of the promoted teams. That and everyone will be expecting them to be ****. With that sort of continuity, I think we can go far. The best teams are the ones that have played together for years - Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Puyol and Valdez have all been together at Barca for yonks. Other than Messi, you could probably replace all of those on paper, but it would be unthinkable to do it all at once because they're so good as a group. It would be great to have a core of good, loyal players that can be our future. A great team chemistry is far kinder on the eyes than a team struggling to gel.
  15. I don't get why anyone would give their child a ridiculous names. It just leads to being bullied at school and being prejudged as a pretentious **** before people have even met you. It must be a millstone around the necks of these celebrity kids. Harper is reasonable (although I thought it was a bloke's name) but Seven is truely dumb. If any bullies are reading this, her mum is an anorexic tart with the body of a seven year old.
  16. There isn't a problem with it, but there it needs to be maintained and it can always be improved. No hidden messages in that statement I'm afraid.
  17. I thought he was quite good. Is he injured a lot?
  18. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/199921/SAINTS-SLAM-ARSENAL-ALEX-BID/ According to this on Friday, Arsenal did bid and we told them to **** off.
  19. Lambert is a very good techncal player. With people supporting him, he'll be class. It's much more than his size that makes him such an important part of our team. To say we're relient solely on him for goals is ludicrous - Barnard scored 15, Guly and Lallana scored 11, Chamberlain scored 10, even Fonte and Chaplow must have got 7 or 8 each.
  20. Fluff on the muff If you can't see her muff, if she has titts, she's ok.
  21. Other than Bale and Walcott, we have lost quite a few young players that could have been decent for us in the Championship had we fought harder to keep them and given them preference over some of the twaddle Redknapp and Burley brought in. The aademy could be a major source of players for us if we continue investing in it. It's worth producing players for other teams too if we reap major benefits from having an academy.
  22. Other than Puncheon, all the black players we've used in the last 2 seasons have been well taken to - Jaidi, Antonio, Waigo, Guly, Chamberlain, Otsemobor, Thomas, Gobern. Good or not, we haven't had bad feelings towards that lot. Puncheon is just a ****.
  23. 1. The squad is pretty good already, it needs very little doing to it to be competitive. 2. The team spirit is great and improvements need to be careful and done in moderation to keep that up. 3. The best deals are to be had later in the window when players decide they want out. 4. Work is being done on additions and has been for some time. We don't want to be shafted by greedy clubs and agents by going in too soon. 5. There are loads of Championship quality players out there, it's not the end of the world if we miss out on some of them. 6. AOC will only be sold on our terms if he puts his foot down and demands to leave. It's unlikely IMO. 7. The club keeps its dealings quiet. There has probably been a lot of interest that hasn't been leaked to the press.
