  1. They had a few new directors (eg Sir Roy Gardner, previously of Man Ure) join when the bid was getting going, they jumped immediately Russia got the World Cup and left Plymouth hanging with hude debts. Worryingly Peter Ridsdale is the one trying to get them through this. More worryingly is that he seems to be the only possible hope for them now. That's how bad it must be there... Ridsdale comes in and people go 'ooh, thank goodness for that'. £2m to save them. In other news, Torres transferred for £50m. Is there something wrong with all this?
  2. I guess it's always 'tomorrow' that the announcement will be made. 'Tomorrow' is the new Friday. Skacel imminent.
  3. Maybe Rudi Skacel is the new manager so it'll take a little while to finalise it all?
  4. Pompey win
  5. "Both QCs have been called in to speak to judge in private" says Dan Roan
  6. See, that's what I'm expecting the judge to say this afternoon, despite all the common sense and hope on here that they'll go under. They're cheats, but they'll get away with it.
  7. According to Dan Roan, Andy Android has now shown up. Wouldn't be the same without him, would it?
  8. I understand Boateng is a midfielder rather than offense or defense.
  9. Thing is, Pompey would have to survive liquidation for the next 12 months without being liquidated. That might be more of a long shot.
  10. Is she selling toast as well?
  11. I thought part of the outcome of that meeting a couple of weeks ago was that HMRC had agreed to support the CVA when it happens, and indeed they had a hand in designing the way the whole thing will pan out. I can't see them voting against the CVA now, however stupid it all seems. I hope I'm wrong.
  12. I guess we need to prepare to be amazed, then. Nobody seems really angry with them or wanting to throw the book at them (aside from this thread). I'm very much of the 'they'll get away with it' group now. Not because they're innocent, but because nobody seems interested in applying sanctions or even the law.
  13. Be nice to hear that from the football league though. They're already got away with much more than you'd have thought (eg trading while insolvent BUT just allowed to carry on), nothing would surprise me now. Maybe they'll be debt-free, get all parachute payments, compete in the Europa Cup thing and win the Championship. It's just hard to have faith in the football authorities... until we hear from them, I'm expecting them to be on zero points in championship come august. I hope I'm wrong, cheating skates.
  14. Wow. According Matt Slater's twitter, this is exactly what's happened
  15. They might be able to but you just have to have this feeling that they won't.. despite all the promises in this thread about what can and should happen, HMRC have appeared pretty toothless so far, as have the High Court, and Baloo, Android and Co are all quite happily getting away with it. Why is nothing like this being done to get them before they take the money and run?
  16. I heard that Andy Android is due to be appointed administrator for the Greek government. After all, they're already in Europe.
  17. Surely the FA could charge then with 'bringing the game into disrepute'. This whole farce has dragged football into the disrepute mire far more than the usual thing of Neil Warnock disagreeing with an offside decision.
  18. So let me get this straight, AA is proposing a CVA (% to be determined) on May 6, decision due within one month, and AA and co will relinquish responsibility at that point. To whom? Did they get a buyer or did I miss that?
  19. So, any bonuses for players if they win the cup? Anything in contracts about that kind of thing?
  20. Can we or any other clubs sell players outside the transfer window? (I'm assuming not since that's why "special permission" has been granted): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8585099.stm So, the message here is: if you horrendously mismanaged, act illegally, trade while insolvent, get into a HUGE financial mess, then you're allowed to have a special transfer window all to yourself. Reward the worst, most incompetent, cheating team. That's fair. How can they allow this and not open the window in the same way for *every* club in the PL?
  21. So the rule is that you can get away with not paying taxes if HMRC consider the legal case to chase you down to be expensive and long-running. Nice precedent!
  22. I heard that they didn't have a bank. Not sure if that's the same thing.
  23. It's kind of the opposite of Danny Baker's thing of standing up while winning 2-0 and saying "NOTHING can go wrong now!!!" Stick at it Nick. You'll bring them down yet.
  24. all your base are belong to us. you are on the way to destruction. you have no chance to survive make your time.
  25. btw, when's payday? are they all getting paid this month?
