The QPR gameplan can be summed up by... target manning... Most of their attacks are aimed down his side, often direct/long balls, and also targetting the space in between him and the CB. Jander having to do a lot of covering across.

People seem oblivious as to how precarious the current position is imo. Its like society is under a constant misinformation war these days - or at least online. With the current rate of AI advances alone, it could be anywhere between another few months and maybe 2 years before the overwhelming majority of the population will be unable to tell if the videos we're all watching are genuine or not. The way its being used is already akin to Psychological warfare doctrines, i.e., using misinformation to polarise a population along easy dividing lines (race, religion, political ideologies) to essentially drive people apart and make compromise/harmony nearly impossible to achieve. As well as targeting erosion of civil intuitions - MSM, elections/politics, free press, free speech, the police/law etc. And its just building on measures that were being operated before AI - like BLM and Covid - setting people against each other and spreading division and misinformation. Are we blindly and randomly doing it to ourselves as some randomised collective? Where does it end up if we don't get a handle on it? And can we even get a handle on it at this point? Not like we can turn off the internet or opt out of AI.

Azaz's finishing leaves a lot to be desired.

Suspect they've cottoned on to that one.

2 wins from 2....

If you were Ross Stewart, with his past few years of injuries, would you risk yourself at the tail end of the season with no contract on the table? What probability would you put on him picking up yet another injury that keeps him out long term, risking him not getting a contract offer over the summer and leaving him without any income / with reduced income? Obviously its a complete unknown - but i wouldn't put money any meaningful money on him not getting injured before the summer. If saints want to keep him going with good form and full commitment for the promotion chase, they need to give him an extension for at least another year - otherwise they're asking him to risk his livelihood to potentially get us promoted and not even have a contract for next season to enjoy the spoils. If we don't, its probably worth more to him to take it easy and show he can stay fit, than it is to break himself chasing a few goals - his next contract will be tied to whether clubs think he can stay fit at least as much as it will his goalscoring prowess - everyone knows he's a good striker for this level.
-
Refreshing for Saints to be back to giving youngsters a chance though. I would say that is pretty fundamental to the club's identity.
-
We've replaced most of the team in fairness - the only important assets not on long term contracts are THB, Downes, and Charles. And if we dont get promoted they'll likely be sold for as much as possible.

Honestly think Eckert didn't want to win the game.
-
Despite being in the league for less matches, and despite having a smaller stadium for much of that, we have 38Million cumulative home ticket sales, vs 36million for portsmouth.

Steam now well dead... hope we see this out!!

And WBA, and Blackburn... Preference would always be Portsmouth. Leicester really could go bust if they go down and i wouldn't wish that on them tbh.
-
If they lose this, i really do think they're going down tbh.

One guy on the foxes talk was just relishing that Quarshie had done his ankle ligaments and that playing on was going to make it worse.... So this is a nice bit of justice
-
Hilarious, had to be Bree.
-
Ankle ligaments? This game is yet another pitfall that Eckert has walked into eyes wide open. So tedious. This should have been won and put to bed ages ago, Leicester are terrible.
-
Yeah, we may still fluke it because this Leicester side really are that bad, but honestly, really poor from Eckert imo. Fans don't often forgive chucking in the cups - and this will be one of the worst examples in recent memory.
-
Think this only ends one way. Eckert basically sent them out to lose - very winnable game so will be poor if we do imo. Also generally, club's made a big song and dance about the 50year anniversary of the cup win, released an extortionate limited edition shirt, and then essentially made no effort to get past the 4th round
-
Blackburn have just appointed former Northern Ireland manager, Michael O'Neil. I know they're a pretty poor squad, but think that's a very good appointment for them. Certainly has the caliber to make a difference in the relegation fight.

EFL to vote on extending the Championship playoffs

Fancy we're going to screw with that a bit this season 😏 -
Spors has done a pretty good job in the transfer market this season, not sure what you guys are so worried about. Jander, Azaz, Scienza, Fellows are all good enough for a prem survival scrap - we'd look at add some extra quality/depth on the wings. If we get promoted then we'll need a new CF for sure. Midfield of Jander, Downes, and Charles could use some strengthening, but its not a bad starting point. Ramsdale and Peretz would both be potential options for the GK spot, and we'll likely look to upgrade at least one CB and add quality at RB/LB.

There is no pressure until we're in 6th. Everything else is failure. After the recent performances i would suggest the team are fully aware that the only option is to win and get into playoffs - so tbh i'm not concerned. They're motivated, playing well and for each other, and starting to believe - and that was the case before Watford, let alone Leicester. The momentum has been building for a few games at this point. and it will take a lot to stop us now... i.e., another Eckert "new manager" pitfall where we try to playing with 9 and a half men (Archer as a target man and a knackered Jander etc) from kick off again. Brainfart's aside, we finally look like a proper championship team - i.e., solid at the back, effective up front, and with the quality to force teams into mistakes and punish them.
