Still not convinced he's that great. Couple of good games last season, fair enough. But I agree, held on to the ball for too long too often, too many touches, turns into blind alleys and clearly has a bad attitude. Given his history, how well would keeping him here when he wanted to move have gone? I struggle to believe he would have got his head down and performed.

How many 18 year olds play to their best (or are even at their best at all) week in week out? Crikey, people don't half expect a lot of the lad.

I see you are badgering half of twitter with this also. Keep it up, +10 MLG points.

Cautiously optimistic. RKs words certainly don't paint the picture of a club about to be flogged, or about to hold a fire sale.

Wasn't there rumours of BMW/Merc (cannae remember which) being shirt sponsors at one time?

Mauricio Pochettino in talks over new contract
KelvinsRightGlove replied to goneawol's topic in The Saints
So was Osvaldo an MP or scouts/"committee" signing? Not saying he was a signing that worked out, before that gets inferred. -
We shall be soon, all being well. Papster, You know I love joshing with you. It was't aimed solely at you - and it was of course in jest. It's funny seeing people talk in a way I have perhaps been guilty of in the past. Being on the outside and seeing all this righty/lefty stuff makes you realise how childish it really is. It just makes any actual debates impossible when framed in such a way. Wasn't BC's biggest fan if I'm honest. He also made my commute unbearable at times, and held the city I live in to ransom pretty often (obviously me just being selfish there). That said, I can respect the bloke, and see he was very good at his job. Rail workers have much better pay & conditions than those in similar industries, particularly tfl drivers - that is not to say everything is rosy and perfect for everyone in those industries before anyone jumps down my throat - and he played a big part in that, and from insulating them from a lot of cut backs. Sorry to his family, 52 isn't that old really.

Mauricio Pochettino in talks over new contract

Can't wait for the latest installment of that. The jealous casting of eyes at desperate clubs scrambling around to make 18 signings, upheaval of the squad etc etc. We should be signing x,y,z, we are run like a crappy b&b. Oh the joy. -
I would perhaps instinctively agree with those that suggest we should be loaning out the youngsters. However, it is hard to argue with LR's point of Luke Shaw, James WP, Callum Chambers having not been out on loan. It's certainly not hurt them - they have all taken to first-team duties, at Premier League level, like fish to water. I guess it depends on the set-up behind the scenes. Which is clearly something we are doing well at the moment, both under LR and prior to that. Where's our resident expert telling us LR should be "no where near a football club"?

Living in London I don't know any other Saints fans. The overwhelming majority of my footy mates and the team I play for day he has the be an England first XI. Obviously I feel the same, but there's probably less bias coming from my spurs/Chelsea/arsenal/(even, hold your breath) QPR mates.

Pulis Bigs Up Saints Academy (and Saints in general)
KelvinsRightGlove replied to Seany S's topic in The Saints
I was a big detractor of his up until last summer. Granted he got Stoke up, and did well to keep them there. But I really hated the way he assembled a group of overgrown thugs and kicked their way to promotion - I think I described him on here before as the ultimate sunday pub league manager. I am warming to him, particularly in lieu of the job he is doing at Palace (who I have also always held an irrational dislike for, which is again thawing). Still, he needs to ditch the f'ing hats. -
Haha I saw this a few weeks back. It's great. There's just something so alluring about her. I just want to follow her around and stroke her hair. Still love the album, been on repeat of late. Birth in Reverse is just great. Hoping she gets a slot at Glasto.

This is the future - pre-emptive moaning. Taken from the school of the Daily Mail. -

So hang on, are Ramirez and Osvaldo crap or our best players? -

Surely the point of a promotion is to play in the higher league? Out of interest, as I don't have the answer. When was the last time a team outside the top division won a cup? -

We are more likely to win things with a better team. We are more likely to have a better team if we are in a better league. The cups happen every season Barry.
