  1. Wow, someone really has some issues with Islam don't they. Crikey.
  2. Even worse, I think Chelsea tried to sue him for his transfer fee too. Though I'm not sure if they were successful? Could be wrong on this mind. I disagree though. Mutu got a lengthy ban from the game. What Osvaldo did was stupid, but it's fairly common. I heard mertersacker was involved in some at Arsenal very recently for example. Think you'd be harder pushed to make as strong a case to dismiss Ossie, just my opinion of course.
  3. Can't wait to see that spun to show he was right.
  4. I think, perhaps we are both guilty of generalising a little bit On the OP - would love Hughes from Derby. Argument that it isn't exactly what we need may be valid, but having lots of good players in a given position is never a bad thing. Better that than having too few, I fear.
  5. Have you not seen the reaction players linked get on here? "I don't want us to sign no Carlos Kickball" etc. If anything, I think people (on here at least) would be more open to Championship signings than foreign imports.
  6. Yeah, it was such an awful list I just wouldn't have gone to any.
  7. Sepp on Twitter just now Joseph S Blatter ‏@SeppBlatter 6m Just to confirm what you may have read elsewhere re. 2015. If the member associations asked me to stand again, I would not say no.
  8. I do get where you are coming from, and I agree to a certain extent. But it's not an awful option to have, a Uruguayan international waiting in the wings. He'd been looking decent from the bench just prior to his injury. Such a shame he hasn't been able to live up to his potential since he came in. So much talent in there if it can be harnessed effectively.
  9. Yep, no where near as bad as those fantastic judges Alpine (another closet racist with his constant South American/Carlos Kickball references) & Barry make out. This "lazy" tag he seems to have acquired is, ironically, just laziness in itself - i.e. stereotyping. But he isn't English, and he doesn't run around aimlessly like Puncheon (good English player, nevermind he contributes less in more games I'd much rather him in the team blah blah blah). Funny how Guly went from being the lazy, do nothing Brazilian - to the go to guy to put a shift in and see out a game. Also makes me laugh that those that slate Gaston for trying things, i.e. through balls or runs to open up a defence parked in front of goal are the same ones that berate the team for being too safe in possession, lacking penetration etc etc etc. Moaners gonna moan.
  10. FFS, f***in TFL. Missed Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip this week, probably going to miss Phoenix at Brixton next week as well now. Thanks for that lads.
  11. If they bow to West Ham and not us, I think there is cause. It's pretty clear it's a red, and worse decisions have not been looked into previously. Utterly pathetic on the FA's part, totally spineless.
  12. Ok, I gave it another watch, clear may be a bit strong. I still do think he has swung out and is trying to catch Flores, which is a red card. Flores diving around like an idiot does not detract from that. It is a seperate issue, and one I agree needs to have something done about it. Just for (everyones) reference:
  13. I agree Flores did throw himself down and make a tit of himself, it was embarrassing. However, Carroll did quite clearly lash out, and swing an arm at him. The fact he missed, doesn't mean he didn't try to get him. So I don't think it's that surprising it wasn't rescinded, and I don't really think it should have been for that reason either.
  14. Yup, I got my mobile pickpocketed Though it was rubbish anyway. Did get to spend a half hour then talking a police man who was one of the most charming people you could ever hope to meet the next day. He also gave us some tips on hidden bars and tapas places. So if anything it actually made the trip better
  15. Puma seem to be chucking around some wonga at the moment. Let's get them on the phone, and see if they would like to send some of it down to the south coast. Also, I decided that I actually quite like the current kit the other day. The gold is bad, but i quite like the kit itself.
  16. With our company being spread across lots of offices across the globe, we have various closed facebook groups as forums to communicate and share interesting things we see (obviously we don't share sensitive info, that would be silly). The problem is, to access these, I had to have people as friends. So, I have my boss, my boss' boss and various other high level people in the company as friends on facebook. That would be fine, if FB would let me put them on lockdown so they only see a very timid view of what actually goes on in my facebook life, but unfortunately FB changes it's settings every 5 minutes. So, yes, our CMO, COO & Head Lawyer often see my various rantings, drunken brainfarts or just general idiocy in technicolour glory. Luckily they are all pretty sound, and I'm good enough at my job for this to not be a problem. I do have to try and actively censor myself on occasion, or quickly un-tag/delete incriminating pictures or posts.
  17. From a purely selfish point of view, I wouldn't be working for the company I do now if it wasn't for their success on Facebook (although the company has moved on since). So for that reason, it's a good thing.
  18. Whilst you are right to make that link, what I actually meant were some political thinkers of a more left persuasion. I know how this sounds, and Im not trying to get uppity about the fact I went to uni or anything like that. The reason I mention it, or even know about this, is because one of my lecturers was one of these writers and wrote books on the subject. As I said, I'm not sold on the arguments entirely, and I'm not trying to sell them to anyone, just saying the exist.
  19. Without want of being argumentative, there are actually a movement of political thinkers that claim Nationalism and socialism/Marxism are actually more compatible bedfellows than many would think, and that hey have simply misunderstood each other. Not sold on it personally, but they are much more intelligent than I (not that it's hard).
  20. Sorry mate, I'm not trying to link the two at all. I don't believe UKIP are like the BNP at all. The BNP are completely nasty racist idiots. Plain and simple. UKIP are different, but due to immigration being a key policy pillar for them, they will attract idiots. Read my post again. I'm not linking the too, I'm drawing comparisons between the two parties performance in recent local and EU elections to their performance in general elections. It is not a comparative comment on whether ones representatives, members or policies is racist or anything else. I can't help but feel you are downplaying the fact that such debate, and such parties (intentionally or not) can bring out racists, and racist opinions. To attempt to deny that is silly.
  21. I think it can be partly explained by where we are in the election cycle. At this stage, opponents are always more popular, as people rarely like the incumbent. BNP & UKIP always poll well in the run up to elections, and can even have some success in perceived 'lesser' elections such as locals or european (probably misguided perceptions, but still). This in part, along with the FPTP system, can explain poll success that is then not replicated into general election success. UKIP are helped in that Farage is a pretty charismatic man, and does his best to seperate himself from the loonies and, blatant racists of the BNP. He suffers from planks like Godfrey making them look a bunch of bigoted buffoons. Again, perception comes into it, I do not for a second think the entire party and it's membership are racist or xenophobic, but there are undoubtedly those within it that are. Anyways, just my 2 cents, not that it's really worth much. In my opinion this is part of the reason for poll success at the moment. The govt are amongst the most unpopular ever, and the fact Milliband isn't streets ahead as leader of the oppo speaks volume of how good a job he is doing. He probably isn't helped by his close ties to the previous administration and New Labour.
  22. I don't think Farage is necessarily a bigoted buffoon, but UKIP certainly does attract some. Godfrey anyone?
