  1. Bout half way through Series 2 of House of Cards. Wow, they didn't hang about getting back into full swing! Was still a bit in shock at the first episode the next day. Also, I think Claire Underwood is one of my favourite TV Characters. What a great show this is.
  2. I'm far from an expert on Birmingham (been there twice, once to the NEC, the other for the '03 Cup Semi-Final - so basically I know sod all), but even to a complete ignoramus like me - Edgbaston Street Car Park seems like a clue to me.
  3. Watched Dallas Buyers Club with the gf on Sunday. I liked it, but didn't think it was as amazing as the hype, if I'm honest I preferred Her. The acting was incredible though, can't begin to imagine how you go about getting as skinny as Matthew M & Jared Leto. Speaking of which Jared Leto really needs to just act, he's an awful musician but a really good actor, I want to dislike him for 30 Seconds to Mars, but he was really good. Matthew Mc's transformation of late is pretty remarkable.
  4. I'm going to ignore your pleas and disagree with you. I don't think it was a foul. Anywhere on the pitch, that is never a foul. Goalkeepers get special protection, but this is in reference to when they are claiming the ball aerially - having their hands (and focus) trained on the ball means their balance is off and are more in danger of being injured. Boruc wasn't really playing as a goalkeeper at that point, he was trying to take on Giroud with the ball at his feet so should be treated as an outfield player - and therefore the tackle should come under the same considerations as any other tackle on/by any other player on the pitch - anywhere on the field. I don't think Giroud fouled Boruc in the slightest - put it this way, if that was Rickie/J-Rod/SamG/DaniO etc and it was blown as a foul I would be fuming. I simply do not think Giroud did anything wrong whatsoever. It's also quite telling that no Saints players even attempted to claim the foul - which is usually a reasonable indicator.
  5. Be honest, if that was Lambert on Scezney you would never call it wrestling. Not a foul, let alone "wrestling". There is one man to blame for that goal, and it isn't the ref.
  6. I grew up in Ruislip, Middlesex and it isn't concreted over. The amount of green there when you consider you are but 30/40 mins from Central on the tube is quite staggering. They've got a lido and everything
  7. I don't mind Noble, and I'm sure that if he was a Saints player fans would like him. I don't see the point in comparing him to Lallana - they are different players, that do different jobs I feel. Noble to Davis would be a fairer comparison imo.
  8. So basically, we all say silly things some times? I know I have (something along the lines of f*** football, I'm done - in relation to Adkins gate )
  9. One of the things that makes it such a great city compared to many others of comparable size. In my honest, probably slightly biased, opinion. Even though housing over Hyde, Regents, Victoria, Finsbury Parks would probably/possibly give me a better chance of getting my own place, it would be to the detriment of the city I feel.
  10. Good assessment. I may have got a bit caught up earlier in the season, but I did also say I knew it wouldn't last so was enjoying it while it did. I'm not really bothered by that. To be honest, I have no problem with where we are now. If the ambitions is to keep trying to look upwards, and we fall short - if falling short is 7th-10th, I'm comfortable with that really. I enjoyed the attempts to upset the applecart, as it were, and I'm not really embarrassed by that. Though I'm a dreaded happy person.
  11. Come on Pap, you know I can't resist a bit of light-hearted joshing with you I'm not being serious.
  12. I do find you perplexing some times Pap. On the one hand, govts are evil and everything they do is untoward and we should not trust them. On the other hand, they should control rent, and own industries.
  13. I never get this whole "my club is bigger than yours" d!ck-swinging nonsense.
  14. Listening to the new St. Vincent album. Wow. She's a little bit amazing.
  15. So some might dismiss him as a "Carlos Kickball", but... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2564758/Diego-Maradona-returns-53-year-old-former-World-Cup-winner-set-sign-Argentine-fifth-tier-minnows-Deportivo-Riestra.html
  16. People that walk off an escalator an just stop dead need shooting. Same applies for stairwells at train stations.
  17. It's a minefield. A while a go I offered my seat to a lady, who I thought was pregnant. I stood up and said "would you like to sit down?". Amongst the biggest errors of my life. Turns out the lady wasn't pregnant, just weird shaped (protruding belly, but the rest of her was quite slim really). She was incredulous, red-faced and started screaming at me. This between stations, on a very busy Central Line train. No escape, nothing I could do. I was also recently told by an elderly lady that I should "mind my own business, and not be so patronising" when offering my seat. You really cannot win.
  18. Yeah Valdes said last season that this current season will be his last. Hence the rumours about Reina, though ter Stegen has been heavily backed. I thought it was all but done, though a footy journo mate says that isn't quite the case (though still a very strong chance of it happening). There's a change a foot regarding Monaco and tax, they recently had to pay a big lump sum (something like £50m I think - though that figure could be off) other clubs were hacked off about the advantage it gave them when attracting players. I think they are going to have to pay tax now.
  19. Don't really see Oxo leaving Arsenal anytime soon. Don't really get why people would think he is. He hasn't been playing, but he's been injured. Has looked good since he came back.
  20. I thought he was going to Barca?
  21. Thing with FF it's hard to seperate out the personal. On these sort of topics he makes it intrinsically personal by linking it to himself, and often his work. I don't know Duncan, but like others I do find some of his rants a bit odd and irksome. The impression it gives is that of a petulant child throwing a tantrum every time he doesn't get what he wants from the club. There comes across a sense of entitlement that he should be treated like a god or some sort of hero for the work he does looking at Saints past. I respect what he does, but I don't really see why the club indulge all his whims. Football clubs are not big friendly family members, nor should they be run as such. I want a Football Club that is as competitive as it can be, if it pandered to all the wishes of us, who let's face it are pretty clueless about running a club we would get nowhere. This isn't some small local business, Football clubs have massive turnovers and expenses, they are required to be run as companies. Things may not be like they were back when, but stamping your feet and crying for the old days (through your rose tinted specs) just ent going to do much about it. I can't speak for those that followed Saints or football pre the Premier League, but I certainly in my life have seen nothing that shows any club any where being run for the fans. It seems like a fair few other posters, that were around before me say a similar thing too. Anyway, surely the club should be run for the good of the club, not others outside the club? I don't know, maybe that's just crazy.
  22. Apparently. All over Twitter & Facebook http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/s216/wwe/news/a551970/wwe-boss-vince-mcmahon-interested-in-buying-newcastle-united-fc.html?utm_source=twt&utm_medium=snets&utm_campaign=twitter
  23. I think BS (most apt initials ever) is on to something. Decide I'm right, and then willfully ignore the times im wrong (which are more frequent than id like really). Christ, is that a point to BS?
  24. I'm not entirely sure, but seems he claims he did.
