Was too young in 2003, this is what I want. A slightly below par Prem season would be well worth this.

Hmmmm, I've not seen any TWD yet, and have managed to avoid any spoilers so far. Your guys words suggest it may be well worth a go. Got a couple of enforced weeks off work, and stuck on the sofa as of tomorrow (having an op on my knee) so may well having a binge catch up sesh.

Fantastic. I look forward to this watching this modern day Roy of the Rovers develop before our eyes.
-
Perhaps that's a bit strong, but certainly to cause controversy.
-
Please, forgive my ignorance. What type of player is he?

I watched it with my the GF, who was also watched all of BB, and she enjoyed it too. Totally get it may be a subjective thing, just not necessarily a boy vs girl thing. Interesting that you enjoyed it so, despite having not seen any of the original. There'll be so much you missed!

I never really got the Ralph hate on here if I'm honest. He clearly isn't and was never involved in transfers, so blaming him for players leaving was silly. Alright, he talks in a different way. Well he isn't a 'football man' (again, he's not here to be one), he's Canadian so will have some different phrases, he's also known for his motivational talks - so yes, he's going to speak in a certain way. I wouldn't say he is immune from criticism, and I wouldn't say a great deal of on the pitch success is down to him (in the same way players leaving were little to do with him). Personally, I quite like him. As Fitzhugh says, he seems keen to help the club progress. Even if that is for selfish reasons (no idea if he has bonuses for reaching certain targets, though it that wouldn't be entirely surprising) or to enhance his reputation for his next step (no idea what on earth that might be), if he's working to help push Saints forward and doing so earnestly, that's good enough for me. I also like his involvement with the foundation, and joining Franny on his run for a stint. Not surprising with the OP though, seems he just cannot bring himself to enjoy the success on the pitch this season. It may not last that long, enjoy it whilst it does!

I agree, though I'd probably go a bit further and say it's always been the goal of C4. It's quite funny now, watching their MEPs call for Ofcom probes into the show. What, with them being against political correctness, faux outrage and being the bastions of free speech that they are.

Sorry, only skimmed through the thread. Sure this has mostly been said. But hell, I'd take a lesser league campaign for a decent Euro run. Obviously, I wouldn't want a relegation battle, but it's really not that long ago that I never thought I'd get a chance to see us in Europe again. It'd be a great achievement, and I really hope we'd give it a proper crack. If at all possible, it would be amazing to follow the team around Europe, or at least get out for one match. Forget who comes and goes, there's little that can be done to control that anyway. If last summer taught me anything, is that players leaving really isn't the end of the world. We probably won't always be as successful in replacing them, but we'll carry on. We're currently sat in a great position, let's just get there and worry about what happens when we get there (though I'm sure Les et al already have a number of plans in place).

I caught up with the first two episodes of Better Call Saul over the weekend Bear. It is v good. I have to confess I was expecting it to be lighter, and funnier than it was. Turns out it was much closer to Breaking Bad in style, which is no bad thing. It does feel like an extension of BB, the way it's shot is very similar, unsurprisingly, and it is absolutely littered references and nods to BB. Early days, but it's set up nicely to be interesting. I'd recommend, hope this helps.

Being totally honest, I didn't watch it. I'm just laughing at all the saltiness in the comments. It clearly wasn't meant to be a remotely factual programme. I'd imagine the intention was to be fairly ridiculous.

That's all well and good, but with tuition fees at what, around £9k a year, and maintenance loans increasing yearly due to rising costs and rent (hey student landlords can charge what the hell they like for squalid housing, because why not? No one checks on them, and the govt just keeps upping what they give students to pay it) it's not going to be long before students are racking up £16k pa debt. They probably aren't a million miles off that now for students in London. That would mean a student doctor would rack up £80k Debt (£16k pa x 5 years of study + the interest which accrues from the time of the v first payment. For a student from a poor background (well, any background really) that is a staggering amount of debt to take on, regardless of what you will go on to earn in your career. Plus, doctors are quite important really.

Wasn't there a 'post a pic of a TSW poster' a while back? Could we resurrect that?
-
Haha sorry not implying you did. I was reading on my phone, and the image was pretty small. Oh Ron, I'm disappointed. But I don't really care how the bloke dresses, just keep on doing what you are doing big man.
-
You're on fire folks, some cracking choices here. KRG nods approvingly.

Is he actually wearing a Stone Island jumper?

2nd this. Clapham is really nice but yeah pretty pricey. Putney has plenty going on, good links and close to central and a little cheaper.
-
Sorry Bear, I shall endeavour to do better.

I have faith Windows, not so long ago you were warning us the perils of African players, and now we have Mané who is probably one of our better players at the moment. I wouldn't be without him, he's like a good Papa Waigo. Joking aside, I do get where you are coming from let's just hope we are actually stringent with these checks. I know you like to be a harsh cynic. -
Havn't watched any of the new season, sorry Bear.

Yeah, he's good but no where near worth the risk & ultimately the disruption that comes with it. I dunno if I'd write off all S.Ams entirely, there's plenty of good ones around. We must be due a decent one sometime soon, surely? -

Aye, don't think anyone could really disagree with you on any of that. 'Cept maybe for Mauricio of summer 2013. Shame it hasn't worked out, but I don't really see what else can be done except make sure this isn't repeated. -

We probably did, there was talk of character checks in the Adkins days. Find it hard to see past this being any more than Pochettino signing, he clearly thought he could handle him with their history. -
Lol at Bear doing his best Batman impression.
