  1. Several comments on here have stated how poor he is in the air, and wins nothing. I'm confused now.
  2. Agree on both. Just wasn't sure if Lamela would work hard enough in the pressing system, or if he'd be viewed as too much of a Gaston type (technically proficient but not hard-working enough). He clearly does like the look of him, so on that I was obviously wrong.
  3. I thought this too. That said, I didn't think he'd fancy Lamela much either.
  4. Good to hear. I've never managed to catch them before, so very much looking forward to it. Ah I do love me some War on Drugs. His latest album is a really good listen. There's some undeniable Boss/Tom Petty influences, but the tracks sound so good I just don't care. Would love to see them live too. I may be able to help take Gruff/Bush tickets off ya hands
  5. As I said above, a number of them arranged and paid for his treatment last time he was in trouble. Hardly abandoning him.
  6. Is it in the DM? I can't see it on the website, and well I don't buy the paper.
  7. I'm just teasing mate. Nothing malicious I promise.
  8. The reason being illness mate. Mental illness are just as destructive and devastating as any other illness. It's frustrating for people that have suffered or witnessed love ones struggle with mental illness hear it be called a choice. If someone has cancer, receive treatment which is unsuccessful you don't blame the person. You don't say they are not deserving of more treatment, you also don't blame them if the cancer (well, more likely something brought on by the cancer, i.e. seizure, stroke etc) ultimately kills them. There is a strange double standard when it comes to Mental Health. It must be the sufferers fault. Look how many times they have had help. It's his choice to be ill. Sorry, it doesn't wash. It's an illness, not a choice. I do not believe for one minute Gazza or anyone with these issues chooses to get into this sort of state. Why on earth would they?
  9. Didn't Chris Evans (as well as others, Lineker et al) pay for his treatment when he was unwell recently?
  10. I'd still take him even with Long here to be honest. I like him, needs to improve his finishing but being the main man somewhere could be good for him. Take a lot of unfair stick imo.
  11. I'm not entirely sure it has been done like that. I understood the FA pushed for a lot of this stuff from Cardiff a while ago, as it was alluded to in hearing's when MM was pursuing an unfair dismissal package. He later dropped that (along with Moody) and apologised a while ago. The FA heard about some of the allegations, and pushed Cardiff for full disclosure, I understood they were reluctant to do so initially. Now, they may well have mined emails/texts etc in the way you suggest leading up to that hearing to screw him over there. But I'm not so sure this was a ploy to stop him getting another job. Apologies if I have misread the scenario.
  12. Did he carry on with Bosnich when he signed Barthez? Did he carry on with Howard/Carroll when he signed van der Sar?
  13. Yeah I do. Though recently moved in with the girlfriend, in a place much more expensive than my last place. Trying to reign it in a bit, not being very successful. Have just now booked tickets to Caribou next March... Luckily, she's a doctor, so when I'm broke she can look after me.
  14. You certainly took the bait, Artur.
  15. Very jealous. Counting down the days til Feb when they play the Roundhouse. Excited for the new album, the initial tracks sound pretty good!
  16. Wonder how long until Pirlo has tapped him up
  17. He was a seriously handsome man.
  18. Rumours of Diana Ross being in talks for the Sunday 'Legends' slot next year...
  19. Dunno if I've posted this before, but I've got it on repeat at the moment. So excited for the new album, the tracks are sounding very Turn On The Bright Lights. Which is exciting, bored of waiting til February for their Roundhouse gig. [video=youtube;-u6DvRyyKGU]
  20. Pleased for Coventry. Always randomly had a soft-spot for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Think I just liked watching Huckerby dribble in circles on MOTD when I was a nipper. I also seemed to randomly like Strachan and Dublin when they were there too. Haven't the foggiest why.
  21. I agree. But, as I said, despite the inherent flaws they can be a good jumping point for discussion. I think I saw Let England Shake in there somewhere, it's just not Top 20 (criminal, in my opinion). as also surprised St Vincent - St Vincent didn't make the cut. Even if it is only a few months old, her best album yet for me. That said Strange Mercy is fairly high (about #30ish I think). Im biased though, I'm kinda stalker-crazy-obsessed with them. Edit: Had a quick skip back through, PJ is #60.
  22. How about the asset stripping nonsense, and the 'fat kat' pocketing all the cash stuff? Too soon for I told you so's on that?
  23. Great name. Should sign him up for that reason alone, imo.
