  1. Funeral - Arcade Fire (can't believe that's it's only mention) Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me - the cure My Aim is True - Elvis Costello Humbug - Arctic Monkeys Nevermind - Nirvana Though there are countless others I wish I could include. I've pretty much gone for album I have listened to most, or come back to most often. Though by that logic No Love Lost by The Rifles, The Cribs - The Cribs, Discovery - Daft Punk, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea - PJ Harvey, Ok Computer - Radiohead, The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses, In The City - The Jam, Different Class - Pulp, Someone to Drive You Home - The Long Blondes, xx - The xx, Up the Bracket - The Libertines, Attack on Memory - Cloud Nothings would all be serious contenders on other days. It's too much to do with how I'm feeling at the moment, or how much I've listened to a given album. I feel St Vincent - St Vincent could be in the running, but it simply hasn't been out long enough to make it a fair fight.
  2. I'm a big fan of the lad. Would like to see him kick on this season. I agree he perhaps has not controlled games as you'd (I'm sure himself too) want, but he clearly has immense talent. He's still a kid, after all. There was some similar talk about Morgan when he was about 19 I seem to recall. Too lightweight, didn't impose himself enough, couldn't tackle. That was in the Championship/League 1! I have every faith JWP is going to be a very good player, just sad that it most likely won't be with us
  3. Team of the year, as voted for by the players. A group of professionals, or you? I know whose judgement I will go with on this one.
  4. He really isn't.
  5. Nah it was Saint Charlie, Apparently he was winding people up.
  6. A friend stuck this up on Facebook. Brought back some fun memories as a teenager. http://www.nme.com/photos/46-quality-indie-bands-of-the-2000s-you-completely-forgot-about/345815/1/1?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=00sbands#1 Personal faves out of this lot were The Rakes, Pull Tiger Tail, Little Man Tate & Larrikin Love.
  7. They're alright. Saw them support The xx last year.
  8. Should sadoldgit's username be changed to dirtyoldgit?
  9. Once again, this young lady's Twitter feed made for depressing reading last night: https://twitter.com/Farah_Gazan
  10. Emile Heskey on Talksport now. Looking for a club, sign him up!! Can be our new Guly.
  11. He sounded surprisingly resolute on that point. I too would be surprised if Morgan stays, but to be that empathic about it would be odd.
  12. Don't think we could ask for much more really. Totally disagree with the "all waffle & no substance" line. Still not totally convinced that Morgan & JRod will be here, well Morgan at least. Can't see JRod moving in his condition. I think Ralf did pretty well, and was ballsy to take the interview on. I just really hope they stick to this now. FFS, they keep sucking me back in.
  13. Well seeing as we are all on a downer, I thought I'd share this. Was having a LCD nostalgia trip, and this little gem comes on. Always forget how much I love it. Plus, Kermit.
  14. I don't know enough about the entire dispute. I'm not taking sides, both sides have done some seriously messed up stuff. At the risk of sounding like some crusty old hippy, I just want it to stop. The people losing out are civilians, and many of them children. It's just heartbreaking to see. I sat reading as this girl was effectively live tweeting the attacks in Gaza, it's just devastating. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-politics/10997610/Teen-Palestinian-girl-on-Twitter-live-tweets-Gaza-bomb-attack.html
  15. Ok, sorry. Hard to sense tone on here sometimes
  16. That's a very fair point, well made. Sadly, I like many fans am simply priced out of going regularly. I go when I can. When Saints play in London I do my best to go. But with travel costs, tickets prices etc I can't go as much as I would like. I'm also the only Saints fan I know. So it isn't quite the same social experience.
  17. Haha. I'm unsure if you are mocking me or not. Either way, that did make me laugh.
  18. I just don't know what to think anymore. Like many, I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned with football. Just what is the point? I love saints, but can't stand the game at the minute. It's priorities are so out of whack. How can governing bodies justify bigger fines for Bendtner showing his Paddy Power boxers than it can for Racist abuse (yes, $$$ - obviously)? I did enjoy last season, especially the start we made. I said at the time I'll enjoy it while it lasts, as I fully expected it to not last. But, I didn't see this summer coming. What grates, is that I just can't fathom out wtf is going on. It just doesn't make a great deal of sense. All scenarios reported make no sense or have glaring holes in them. I do believe, rightly or wrongly, we were on the verge of having a really great squad that could have pushed on given a few additions. That has now been picked apart. Similar to a post I made earlier this summer, I can't help but think - what is the point? The last few years have been great, I'm glad I enjoyed those whilst I could. I feel for those that p!ssed and moaned their entire way through it. I've tried my hardest to remain positive this summer, and similar to a post I saw by someone else the other day (apologies I forget who it was) I could understand pretty much any of the departures in isolation. But to this extent is just draining. I guess it's just my turn to whinge and whine again. Previously I thought I'd probably get excited again once the season started and make myself look a total hypocrite. Now, I'm just really struggling to get excited about the season. Yeah, I know there have been worse times for Saints and other clubs. Frankly, I just feel 'meh' to all of it now. I'm done get frustrated with the outgoings, the Morgan and Jrod story just raised a little chuckle, 'of course'.
  19. Lol. Swung again ain't ya? What happened to I'm not subscribing to asset stripping, even though I've been alluding to it for months? I have no idea wtf is going on. I hate what is happening at the minute, I really do. But, asset stripping? Stupid suggestion. Why sanction £30m in training facility upgrades (whether or not that price increased due to incompetence is irrelevant, it was still sanctioned)? Why hire Koeman to replace MP? I can't imagine he is 'cheap' next to a Leeds-esque Hockaday signing, or a Wigley style promotion. Why replace £30m of assets (Lambert & Lallana) with £20m assets (Tadic & Pelle)? As opposed to just making do? None of this fits in with the 'asset stripping' idea. I've tried to stay upbeat this summer, and I'm really struggling at the moment. Not just with Saints, but football in general. I am seriously disillusioned. But FFS, this doesn't look like an asses strip.
  20. As I said. Said in June Clyne to Arsenal was agreed.
  21. The same guy said Clyne to Arsenal had been agreed in June. Yet he is playing tonight. The twitter thing? When do clubs like Arsenal get to medical stage without it being reported?
  22. Would be a pretty poor asset strip to spend £20m on tadic and pelle and appoint Koeman. Could have done a Leeds and plucked someone from non-league would have been much cheaper.
