  1. Nope, don't be daft. He was just having a rest. Because, y'know he's South American and therefore lazy...etc.
  2. I get a lot of people will be happy about it. But, I would be careful about celebrating too soon. Nicky Morgan is quite a scary prospect herself. That said, it is most likely just an emergency female appointment designed to look good til the election. Can't imagine she'll get up to much (which is probably for the best). Basically, I pretty much just automatically detest anyone that voted against equal marriage.
  3. Money = as I said, would you have turned it down? It's not like he held a gun to someone's head and forced us to pay him that. Contribution = again, look at the stats. Matched Lallana & outperformed Puncheon in his only full season. Absence = Injury from a pretty rough tackle. Nothing to do with being lightweight - just a very hard tackle. Could have happened to anyone. Are you criticising Jay for missing the end of the season? He wasn't even tackled - WHAT A DISGRACE!!! Chiellini = Player sticking up for his team-mate. What a pr*ck
  4. By rest, you mean being injured right? Also, read the thread. I'm not apologising for him. He hasn't produced enough yet and yes he needs to step up. I've shown clearly what my stance is, based on fact and logic. You, as is par for the course, base your 'opinion' on blind emotion. That rarely ends well for you. You keep going on about the money like it's coming out of your pocket. It isn't, it's also not his fault that at 21 someone offered him a massive contract. Would you have turned it down? I'm sure as sh!t I would not have done. To suggest he is taking the p*ss out of the club is utterly laughable. But again, par for the course. EDIT: Actually, how much did Yoshi play last season? She he also have got no rest because of this? Can you not understand that being involved in a World Cup, travelling training and carrying that expectation is pretty draining. Both physically and mentally. Neither played a great deal last season, I hardly see that being through choice.
  5. I agree. He isn't ready to start week in week out at the moment, that's fine. He probably wouldn't have been playing last season if Ossie had been a prat/JRod got injured/we got in the target MP alluded to (was it post Arsenal). But, I feel he did ok and the experience will most likely do him good. I've seen nothing to suggest there isn't a good player in there. Heck if he was that awful MP could have played JRod up top (v Arsenal) and stuck in an extra midfielder. He probably has a better idea than any of us.
  6. I thought he had a good game vs Everton too. Wasn't afraid to get stuck in and put himself about a bit. Really think people are expecting a lot of him, in football terms he's basically still in nappies. Not every player can be the best in the league in their position at 18.
  7. It's probably the training everyday and travelling that warrants a holiday. Give the kid a break.
  8. I'd be an outright liar if I said I knew enough about either to give a definitive answer. I do agree with the sentiment above, they don't appear to be obvious downgrades on the outgoings. Which is ofcourse encouraging. I feel much the same about Koeman. They may well not work out, but that could also be levelled at Sanchez going to Arsenal. It's always a gamble. Not too much talk of an asset strip now is there *winkyface*
  9. Yeah I turned it around. Signed some plodders in Jan as I was lacking in experience. Went on an epic unbeaten streak and managed to sneak 5th on the last day. Got a cracking 3-5-2 set up for the big guns, I seem to win more than I lose against these teams playing that. Though Kat has got the hump because I'm not playing possession football. For some reason my version the top half is always unbelievably tight. Could have finished anywhere between 3rd-9th on the last day depending on results. Pre-season has a familiar feel to it. Gaston got all billy big balls as PSG & Monaco came calling. Pulled off an unbelievable coup - managed a straight swap for James Rodriguez who was transfer listed and unhappy. J-Rod is also getting attention from Arsenal, Liverpool and (oddly) Barcelona. Now throwing his toys out the pram because I've told him no.
  10. Billy Sharp, really?
  11. Saw Boyhood on Friday night with a friend. It's a really interesting concept, filming the same characters over 12 years. It's fascinating watching the kids grow up right before your eyes. It's a bit of an 'indie' film, so not a great deal happens. And parts did feel a bit contrite, looped story lines concerning the mother. But overall it was pretty enjoyable, and interesting if only for the concept. Did feel like it was dragging a little towards the end, but that said I was surprised that it was a 3 hour film when I checked my watch. Also made more amusing by the fact that when I popped to the loo after whilst waiting patiently in line a guy walked out of the cubicle to be immediately followed by a lady. V funny.
  12. Can you explain this one to me please then mate? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/9348040/transfer-news-paris-saint-germain-confirm-16350million-purchase-of-chelseas-david-luiz
  13. Much as I love Sanchez (I really do, love watching him, think he really is class) I feel like with Ozil it's just not a priority for them. They need 2 FBs, I don't much fancy Debuchy (why he is preferred over Sagna for France is baffling) and I'm not mad keen on either Gibbs or Monreal. Giroud is good, but he can't do it alone again. They need another striker to help him out. I still think they need another CB as well. Sanchez is class, and I have no doubt he will do well. But there are areas Arsenal need more strengthening first, IMO. Still, if they do get some of those and this strength and conditioning chap they have hired from the German team can stop some of the injuries they may well have a good season.
  14. I'm convinced Fleetwood Mac would have headlined this year if it wasn't for John McVie getting cancer. Thankfully, it sounds like he is on the mend. The rhetoric coming out from every angle last year was pointing to a Mac headline slot. Hopefully, Mr McVie fully recovers and they do a U2 and take their place next year. That would be epic. I'd make a massive mess of the Pyramid, it would almost be Arcade Fire levels of excitement for me. No idea about the other headliners. Apparently all three are booked, with one supposedly booked side of the stage during Metallica. Some suggest this is AC/DC due to them sharing a manager with Metallica (stangely, this is Louise Mensch's husband). Friends tell me they are pretty epic live. Wonder if they'll do what they did at Download a few years ago and bring their own stage? Or will the humble Pyramid suffice?
  15. Or being English. Funny how in his first season Gaston was level with Adam for goals & assists (combined) provided, and ahead of Puncheon. This despite it being his first year in England (it does take time to adjust, I don't care what anyone says), a string of injuries, a family bereavement and a change of manager. Against this backdrop only the South American was victimised, funny eh? He hasn't been amazing, of course he hasn't. He does need to step us soon, absolutely. He can go missing sometimes, that is totally true - but can anyone name me a #10 type player that doesn't? If you can, can you name one that isn't playing at a top club - i.e. out of reach of Southampton? But, the stick he gets on here is beyond a joke. There's a fallacy that he is lazy, again it's untrue (same was said of Guly who then became the go to workhorse - what's the link there?). I also love that the people that criticise him for losing the ball are often the same people that criticise the possession football. So you want a man that will try and thread a through ball, and open up a defence - but when someone tries to do that they are still criticised. Brilliant. I hope the lad does come good, he doesn't seem to have a bad attitude and is often mentioned the boy has great talent. He didn't really strop last season, and when played actually looked pretty useful. That assist against West Brom was brilliant (his detractors were quick to dismiss it as a fluke - despite him clearly looking for Adam's run before he receives the ball). He is the sort of player I love watching, he can make things happen - that isn't to say he can't be effing frustrating also.
  16. No doubt he is a top drawer player, but he is a top drawer c**t to match. Suited Liverpool and their fans really. Never liked them or the club, this summer hasn't really done much to change that.
  17. V exciting news. Had no idea this was happening. One of my favourite bands in my early teens are back. Yes, he is a bit of a (read MASSIVE) prat. But, they have made some great tracks. This is an encouraging come back. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud]
  18. Are these guys completely stupid? What on earth is the relevance?
  19. Haha - Love his response to the Twitter Q. Think he's come across pretty well so far.
  20. Doesn't sound best pleased with Ossie.
  21. He keeps mentioning youngsters, Windows is gonna hate him already.
  22. God pap you are so clueless. The board are sat around with their fingers in their bums/on holiday/asset stripping. Other clubs transfers/world cups/changing manager has no impact on incoming transfers.
  23. Paired with Hooper they were certs for Champions League.
