So, signing loads of players isn't the way to go?
-
I was wondering when this would show up.
-
Started a new Saints save. Set it up on editor so Lambert, Lallana & Shaw left for the reported fees (£4m, £26m & £30m) and have tried having a go at rebuilding a squad. Team looking like: Boruc Clyne De Vrij Lovren B. Davies Morgan Vic Barkley Gaston Jrod Volland Threw some serious money at Volland & Barkley. Really hasn't paid off, both have been a bit poor. Havn't had the best of starts to the season either. May well get sacked if things don't pick up soon. Hope Koeman is better at this management lark than I am.
-
I prefer this Saint Charlie. Made me smile, good work. Obv a legend.
-
Fair enough. I've said before. I'm not overly fussed by stripes or non-stripes. I'm actually not overly bothered about kits in general. They're worn for a season, then changed. I don't mean to take a pop at anyone, as clearly people do care about it. I just really cannot understand why people get so worked up. It might grow on me. Last season's one did, meh.

Is it just me that much prefers last seasons? And the year before that one's, actually.

I'm not saying Holtby is great either. But then again, many didn't think a whole lot either way on Davis. The point being Holtby may be more of a MP type player than Lamela. May be well off the mark, I've not seen much of Lamela, so not entirely sure what sort of player he is. FFS, this Gaston is lazy thing is also total nonsense. -
I'm not saying its rosy. I'm not saying we'll be better than last season. I don't think we will. I'm being realistic. Look up what a fire sale is. The term has been thrown around a lot on here, it's not what is happening. Harsh on Koeman, unemployed because he left a job he had done very well at and was mostly appreciated by the fans. Anyway, remind me how the last unemployed manager we hired went? C'mon man, it's not all so bad.
-
Everyone, but you? Including the brothers Koeman, who you know, may have actually spoken to people at the club. I may be wrong, but I'm guessing you haven't? You've also gone from predicting a fire sale to balancing the books. The two are quite different. I know you're naturally a cynic and a pessimist, and that's fine. But I really don't think it's all as evil as you make out some times. We had a crop of good players, they got silly offers. It's unusual for it to happen, but come on we got more for Shaw and Lallana than Milan did for Silva & Zlatan. Kat had clearly committed to the training ground long before these offers were on the table. We probably won't spend £60m+ (is it m+ or +m? I never know), but that doesn't mean we won't invest and carry on. It's not the best of times, I even had a bit of a wobble. But we'll be reet. It's certainly not an asset strip.

Not picking on you personally, I've seen the MP and Lamela thing a bit. I don't get it, or see it. He had Gaston here and totally ignored him. Obviously I'm not saying Lamela is a poor player, obviously he isn't. But will he fit into what MP wants? I'd have thought he might bring back Holtby. Who seems to me a Steven Davis type player, who he make feel he can use. -
It's because they are asset stripping, like you thought all along. Right mate?

Haha. I was just so unbelievably happy. My favourite band, at my favourite place playing the show of their lives. Like Metallica, seeing how much it meant to them just gave it that little extra edge. You were just rooting for them. As I said, I was just totally overcome by all of it. I'm off to The Libertines saturday. I would genuinely considering going out to see them again though. I'm definitely a convert. They smashed it. I watched them & AF back yesterday and was in pieces again. I'm completely broken. Think I've seriously messed with my serotonin levels. Dropped my wallet earlier and just stood there crying. Ps I'm definitely going to last minute a ticket for Arcade Fire in Hyde Park tomorrow, stand at the back on my own and just weep. It's going to be brilliant. -

Ps pap, sorry I didn't come see you post Metallica. I wasn't sure if you'd have mrs pap/mini paps in tow. The amount if put in my face that day would have been a terrible sight. Hope you had a good one. -

I cried so much to Arcade Fire. I'm clearly a huge fan, as any reader on this part of the forum could tell. But Haiti, Sprawl II & Wake Up had me in pieces. Just unreal. -
will we see Suarez in our first match? (Answer: No.)

It's not other people I worry about at glasto. It's me. The state I intend to be in, there's a good chance I will lose it. Plus I just bought a nokia with 35 days battery life. Saves the need to worry about my iPhones 1 Hour battery. -

Hmmmm, the iPhone is technically works. Considering I recently had a Macbook & iPad stolen (both works) I don't think it's a great idea. -

Get me to that effing farm! Ps are we having a bev chaps(/chapettes)? If so when/where? I'm not taking the iPhone. Pps I really hate packing. -
Sorry there was a typo in my last post, it was meant to say wasn't. I was talking about reactions on here and calling the girl a tart/slag/bunt etc whilst also congratulating Luke. I don't know what was said between him and her. I've made my position on that pretty clear.
-
Well obviously that would be an issue. Harrasment shouldn't be tolerated whoever it is commoting the act and whoever the victim is. I was actually addressing Luke, as I said several times. I think he's going lad, acting inappropriately. I'm sure he will learn. We all know though, that the majority of harassment is by men on women.
-
Ok mate. If you want to go through my posting history and pick on any of the silly things I have said (I admitted that was silly and apologised) I'm sure there is plenty of ammo out there. Have fun.
-
You said Luke should get no stick, but the 'tart' should. To me that demonstrates that is ok for a guy to ask a model for sex, but if she tells other people about she should be demonised. She should expect it in her job. I don't see why her being a model should mean she is any less deserving of respect to be honest. As I said, I'm not saying this makes Luke a bad person he's a young lad and probably got carried away. He'll probably learn from this being plastered all over the papers. I do however, find using terms such a tart, slag or bint (all used on this thread, not just by you) as pretty horrible. And it shows the difference it attitudes towards men and women, which I find unacceptable. All women will be harassed at some point by a man. Ignoring things like this, or encouraging it, or demonising the girl in the scenario in my opinion perpetuates the problem.
