  1. that's not the only flaw, he could just get chicken on a pizza.
  2. we aren't thinking of all the teams who will be able to wear white at sms this year, and if we get crawley in the cup....
  3. my dads just got a Samsung smart tv and it does all the streaming stuff, and freeview. WiFi needed a extra dongle, but no internal HDD, although it has the ability with an external one. very impressed with the overall quality, the os is android based, and the browser even has flash so u can stream basically anything else. only limit is only two USBs. I'm sure there are versions that have a bit more as his was in the sale and not brand new. as for the console I wouldn't bother upgrading unless u really wanna play high end games, smart TVs are just as good, if not better than PS3/Xbox, most of the iPlayer etc. stuff is exactly the same layout, and it offers extra stuff like fitness and opera if that's ur cup of tea. or if ur more into windows based games get an htpc instead. I use xbmc through my house and can stream my media to any monitor, tv and a couple stereos.
  4. my theory on this one is that mayuka and jay were offered a starting place against Wednesday mid week. mayuka turned it down and j rod took his opportunity and scored two goals, thus bumping him up to a first team start. even if mayuka wasn't given the choice it's still good management practice imo, it tells the whole squad, if they perform in the reserves they will get a chance in the first team. anyway, j rod is our long term replacement for lambert. he will com good in the next 18 months.
  5. I said everyone pays a low rate of income tax say 10%, and ppl who earn big money choose to have higher living costs, no1 forces multi millionaires to buy Ferraris and build swimming pools, they choose to because they can afford it. I know a few who apart from on thier property/yacht/children, they dont actually spend that much on luxury goods. under this system someone earning £200k a year would now take home £180k, as opposed to currently taking home £100k. this would mean they have more to spend, unless they stashed it away under the bed the money would boost the economy rather than squeeze it. with more disposable income ur business might even get more business, who really knows. what do u make/do btw? and a tax on take away packaging is a bit open for abuse. I prefer a fat tax on all fast food & ready meals, even better if it is then used to subsidise fresh & healthy foods.
  6. my vote is for a tax system where we alp pay 10-15% on income with a change to VAT, with different brackets for more luxurious goods, e.g. a rolls Royce would carry 50% tax whereas a micra would have the basic rate of say 20%. it means we all get to keep our hard earned earnings but depending how lavish a lifestyle u lead depends on how much u pay into the state. it would also mean that lost tax on loop holes & illegal earnings would be recouped in spending.
  7. yay, us tv is finally back! office started last week, modern family this week, and 30 rock and always sunny start in the next two.
  8. most of these will get bumped up within the next few weeks.

real power would have been staying neutral and having both parties come begging to get bills through. they did in the greater interests of the country and economy, this government have laughable. recently I was trying to think of a major change they've made, thats actually good, and couldn't....
  10. I'm moving to the states, better climate, less personal debt.
  11. most of my mates who are not saints fans have made this comparison.
  12. nice read, those stats are great :-)
  13. sorry, couldn't keep up with all the full stops and repetition. it makes it read like an echo. an echo. an echo. ..and ppl have a go at me for writing a lil bit in txt spk.

never thought he'd make a good leader of the party. his blue n yellow makes green line today was horrible. we need more independents, or a grass roots movement that's not just a bunch of hippies. amazed occupy didn't run for mayor.... on a lighter note Dave said today, "I am a little conservative". made me chuckle anyway.
  15. id like to get a point here, so long as Morgan sees off fellani like he did with kagawa.
  16. i thought she won the court case to show an EU satellite feed coz she was paying for it, but sky and the FA still control the copyright on things like the logo and the anthem in this country....
  17. where are they getting the feed from?
  18. true, this cup means nothing because there's nothing to be gained by winning it compared with wot the league offers. any bottom half prem or championship team would rather stay up or get promoted than be in europe, and any prem side that has Europe as a goal would do better off concentrating on the league as 7th and no cup is worth more than 13th and a UEFA cup place through the league cup. and a bad start to the season can leave u in no chance for anything by xmas. it's also a perfect opportunity for the fringe/injured players to get a run around. complete speculation.... but id love to see this turn into a short 2nd half of the season tournament for prem sides only, playing for a 5th champions league place, and the jpt to become the championship and lower league cup. imo the epl deserves 5/6 cl places anyway, even if they qualify in the 1st round. and the league cup might actually be entertaining.
  19. why would u pay value added tax on something that has no face value? and how do competitions work if u can't give away free ****? but I'm not saying completely free, just a nominal amount. deals are the big thing wot with the economy and popularity of deal sites. the club would have known on Saturday they had sold f*ck all tickets, and they had 30,000 ppl to advertise directly to on the big boards and at half time. still a shame st holders didn't get this for free, I thought it was pretty standard for cup games, especially league cup, to be included.
  20. it was £15.
  21. I noticed the northam started singing 'pompey scum' 10/15 mins in. that's basically our Mexican wave, the football and the atmosphere was dry last night, the latter always is with 20,000 ppl missing.
  22. it really amazes me that the club dont push to fill the stadium. even if u give away seats for free, id say 1 in 4 would buy a program, and 1 in 2 would but food and/or drink. so that's £10,000 lost in program revenue and £50,000 lost in food & drink sales. and if the rest of the tickets were bought at full price thats a total of £60,000 lost. ultimately I feel sorry for Wednesday, who would have looked at this game as a good money earner. I'm guessing the club dont do any bums on seats policies, I remember 10 or so years ago my brother's used to get special deals from thier Saturday morning football clubs. stuff like kids go for a pound with a full paying adult etc.
  23. sorry i just thought SDR was awful. yes he ran at ppl but mostly he just won lots of throw ins, he was fouled for the penalty but the original foul was miles out the area, and he managed to drag the defender into the box with him then dramatically go down. he was our most liveliest player yes, but he was also our worst imo. without an end product there is no point in all the running, and he had so so so many chances to cross, but he can't. there was a passage of play in the second half where we were knocking the ball about, it went through about 7/8 interchanges in their half, no player taking more than 3 touches, then it went out wide to SDR we preceded to try and run at a defender and promptly lost it. oh and JWP played some outstanding long balls, the one out to richardson was pure class. even if he hadn't kept it in play it was still beautiful.
  24. honestly i thought tonight was proof that sdr offers nothing. he just ran head down at people and bundled the ball through the woeful defending. he never seems to ever really be in control.
