Whilst I certainly don't think that the ICA can be properly accused of being corrupt, or having made a corrupt decision, the actions of the FIA in this matter should certainly be of concern to all F1 fans. This is not a pro-McLaren issue, or an anti-Ferrari one, for that matter, but a couple of points seem clear at this juncture: 1. The FIA were entirely unconcerned with the Toro Rosso appeal last year, to the extent that they made no admissibility arguments during that appeal; 2. In direct contrast, the FIA strongly objected to the admissibility of the McLaren appeal, despite the fact that the appeals were substantively identical with regard to the penalty that had been imposed by the stewards; and 3. The FIA was determined enough to ensure the failure of the McLaren appeal, that it was prepared to falsify evidence, and one of its officers was prepared to give false testimony before the ICA. The issue of concern here is not whether the ICA's decision was correct, but why the FIA was prepared to act in the appalling, dishonest manner that it did here. Although I personally disagree with the ICA's decision regarding the admissibility of the appeal, I have no doubt that the members of that body acted appropriately. I do not believe that the same thing can be said of the FIA http://www.fia.com/en-GB/the-fia/court_appeal/judgments/Documents/ICA-23-09-08-McL-en.pdf

It's bloody awful. Here's a prediction - on the day of the vote Fox news will be broadcasting severe weather warnings in close running states to deter voters from going out..

Spot the difference: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-5UnPeyzcHM No penalty. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5WsM8MRvHk No penalties. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=74TZngbIS9I 25 second penalty. Fair? This video makes it EVEN clearer that Lewis allowed Kimi back in front before they approached the 1st corner http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=70rXr2Mkq_M and this one sums it all up nicely IMHO http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TzKMyFCaZy0

What a ****ing joke F1 has become. I went to bed happy last night (in Auz) after watching Lewis DESERVEDLY win the race - only to see that he's now been stripped because Kimi pushed him off the track... F1 is a disgrace at the mo - the racism towards Lewis is blatant IMHO  Petition objecting to the ruling of the stewards... http://www.petitiononline.com/belgp08/petition.html

Is the Premiership the promised land for the Saints?
Saint Paul C replied to Long Shot's topic in The Saints
The easiest fix is for all teams in the same league to get EXACTLY the same amount of TV revenue. This table clearly demonstrates the problem Manchester United £49.3m Chelsea £45.6m Arsenal £47m Liverpool £45.4m Everton £42.1m Aston Villa £42.3m Blackburn Rovers £40.2m Portsmouth £40.4m Manchester City £39.7m West Ham United £36.8m Tottenham Hotspur £36m Newcastle United £39.2m Middlesbrough £34.2m Wigan Athletic £33.4m Sunderland £33.6m Bolton Wanderers £32m Fulham £31.3m Reading £30.6m Birmingham City £29.8m Derby County £29.1m The financial differences would therefore only be gate receipts, prize money and brand related commercial activities. Champions league so be what it is - a competition for European league champions. UEFA cup should be for the winners of the domestic challenge cup. Simple really. -
So much for preaching the values of sexual abstinence

Just started playing FM07 (mate gave me his disc) and have just got Saints promoted to Prem league in my first season (beat Sunderland 3-1 in play-off final.....) Anyway, I've not got much of a transfer budget and need to strengthen the team for next season - can you recommend any decent players to try and sign. My team at the end of the season was Kelvin Davis - GK Curtis Osano - RB Pele - CB Killer - CB Bale - LB Licka - MR Denilison - MC (on loan from Arsenal) Dailly - MC Skacel - ML Buzacky - AMC Rasiak - ST Any recommendations would be great. Cheers, Paul.
