I always felt and still feel that the main goal behind signing Wanyama was to replace Jack Cork in the CDM position. Jack Cork's lack of pace and strength are not ideal for that position, or a CM position for that matter where at least one is required apart from good passing and intelligence. Not that anyone around here will care to notice.

I do not think Jack Cork was ever in contention for the senior England squad. His passing makes him look better than what his all round game really allows him to be.
