I agree, we need players like Rasiak. They will push us to the next level. Steven was used almost every week in our rise to 2nd, yet we need to do better. In spite of losing the ball before the 2nd goal he had a good game against a really tough opponent coming back from injury after only training normally on the eve of the game. Yet he is a victim of our own success. On the evidence of today, I guess 90% of our starting 11 is also a victim of our own success, as we're clearly not good enough to battle for the top positions with City and Chelsea! This is what annoys me about our fan base. We are always a predictable negative result away of sounding like Pompey fans and their constant delusion. Likewise, we are only a few wins away of a similar state.

I'd say, all things considered, we are a nice club for any other to be!

I just don't want England (and Saints for that matter) to go through another era of overrating a player because of his dead-ball skills. I think he could learn a lot from Davis, and with time become his natural substitute as the NI captain becomes older. Although a player with that sort of role is usually one that has a long career and is still around the team squad at 36.

Last season we faced another naughty November/December period with a lot of injuries. I'm hoping Steven Davis' minor injury really is just that and not a sign that the players are starting to give in after what was a rather intense start to the season.

Funny thing football, how quickly and dramatically it can change. Very happy now with our hard-working, confident boys but I'm surprised how poor all of our leavers have been (bar Chambers). Life does look like voodoo sometimes haha.
