  1. The only one that may still have a place to fight for is Shaw. I believe only Lallana will be heading to Brazil. Lambert, and Rodriguez right now, are not better than whatever else Roy has available.
  2. I think Lovren had a much bigger stinker and in fact right at the beginning of the match Fonte got him out of jail a few times. He's a great CB but I can't help but think that Jose always seems more involved in the more 50/50 situations than he does, and that really it's a case of Fonte allowing Lovren to look as good as he can rather than Dejan making Jose look good. Fonte is definitely the braver one.
  3. They play excessively deep and very often drift to the wings as our full-backs seem to struggle to find a pass to one of our forward players who themselves don't seem to drop down as much as they should to offer a pass. That and what I can only assume to be a dressing room law to not try or have a shot from outside the box under any circumstances with life imprisonment as punishment.
  4. One thing I notice about Davis in the last 3-4 games and Ramirez when he came on today, is that rather than playing in a CAM role they seem to be mostly placed down the side. Almost like wingers. I understand Lallana may be comfortable with coming inside but I'm pretty sure that Ramirez in particular is rather ineffective down there?
  5. The only reason why people seem to think that we are conceding a lot is only because we are not scoring. Or worse, not shooting.
  6. He is a very good player, but is he a complete CM? No. His shooting is poor especially when compared to the three mentioned above. And honestly, even removing Grenier and Ribery, I can't see him being superior to more than 2 in the list that Raziak posted. Same goes for Cork and England.
  7. See what I'm afraid the IMF does not mention is that fact that inequality has increased in recent years not primarily because people are earning more while others are earning less in terms of their income, but because the value of what those at the top end earn/possess has increased in value, as most have their wealth invested in funds and shares in the overinflated stock markets. That is what is morally incorrect. To value something merely by the amount of loan (i.e.not owned) money a bunch of loonies pump into it. This makes any of the textbook redistributive policies void, as they do not touch one part of the economy. They focus on "real" items, while the majority of the untaxed wealth is in the credit cloud of the stock markets which no longer rely on the real economy to grow and create value, but on the self-generating capabilities (god knows how?) of its suppliers (i.e.the banks, which have effectively become slot machines). Of course the IMF, allied to the big players as it is, will not admit this. We have seen increases in VAT, many troubled countries in Europe have seen their taxation increase (both directly and indirectly) with no real improvement, but the financial deregulation and its loopholes that are harming the economies in developed countries remains unchanged. Meanwhile we can keep discussing how horrible food banks are and how we should increase government spending and impose taxes on people. In the end it will only touch a majority but no THE majority.
  8. Anyone with a bit of knowledge on the FL can estimate how badly they are underachieving (if underachieving at all)? Squad looks good on paper, but lots of journeymen, some ex-pros and short-term fix in there as well...don't really know what to think.
  9. I doubt any other capital city faces the demand and attraction that London does. Even looking across the pond, not a capital but I don't think NY faces the sort of pressure (undoubtedly because of the large areas for expansion around it) that London does. As much as people in this country fail to realize, London is truly the capital of the world. And receives attention accordingly.
  10. The only way this is going to work is if the home countries of these oligarchs and ultraliberal bohemian billionaires start to employ the same policies as countries in Europe and the Western world did post WWII. It's that time now for them. It's the stage in development they are reaching. You see it everywhere from India to Brazil. Until then, they will overprice the West, much like they do in the richest areas of their megacities.
  11. I came across this. You give France a couple more years. If you want to talk about a fragmented, sinking ship it's that one you have to look into, not this island. EDF will eventually be privatized or sold directly to the unholy financiers of the EU project. Just like they've done with DONG in Denmark recently.
  12. Right guys more outrage. I know he's been there for more than a month now but still I find it shocking. How come plucky, down-to-earth Pompey can afford to have on their books a certain Nicky Shorey, who only 8 months ago would be finishing a rather saucy season's contract in the PL (albeit in a yo-yo club)?? I'm sure Bristol City, regardless of their free fall, can command much higher wages than our neighbours (I know his contract wasn't renewed but the point is the amount)? Where is the money coming from??
  13. Also what is this about Davis being the weak link in our team?? Have we forgotten the whole season until Sunderland, including the last month??? The passing, the assists, the creation of chances, the neat touches and vision? That we haven't scored more doesnt mean he hasn't been putting the passes in, we just seem to be under death threats regarding shooting from before 6 yards! To start he provided the assist for our goal! I see that our delusional brigade have fallen into the Ramirez charm trap again, only to then slate Gaston when he tries to get past a couple of players and loses the ball. Talk about the usual suspects, a few out-of-touch tw*ts in the unnoticed mainstream here too. A lot of people slate the club and players for ambition, when they clearly have no idea what the word really means in the first place.
  14. Isn't he on loan at Bognor or something? Was he born there or does he have family roots in the rock?
  15. Funny that people cry for Ramirez, are we then going to cry for Cork/Davis/Wanyama to come on when Ramirez suffers the similar symptoms of the "don't shoot!" syndrome?
  16. We need a midfielder that can shoot from outside the box. Or from inside it in fact. Our defense is fine, mistakes will happen and goals will be conceded. Get over the myth. Our inability to materialize on our dominance in the final third is what is costing us. How many times has a player facing goal gone for a side, backwards or risky pass between defenders rather than getting a shot away??
  17. I'm afraid having Lovren back on the side will not solve our case study worthy problem of not being able to get a shot from anywhere before being less than 10 yards from goal. In fact, make that 6.
  18. JUST SHOOT SAINTS
  19. Forget about defense, our ability to get a shot on target from open play is an absolute joke.
  20. Are we ever going to get a decent shot on target that is not. A) A tap-in B) A header C) A goal of the season challenger ??
  21. We can't get shots on target!! This would've been all around the world from Ramirez.
  22. Hoping Wet Sham don't destroy Ramirez's leg again.
  23. Also watching it again maybe Chambers is keeping him on?
  24. Two horrible goals and it's a mountain to climb. Yoshida must think he is a ninja, whatever he was trying to do...
  25. He is offside surely! No one in front of lino either...
