Technically Cork is better than Wanyama, a better passer of the ball as well. But he has almost no pace, and physically Wanyama wins by a country mile. In terms of pressing high, VW is a better option.

I assume you don't like Pochettino, then?

You can have extraordinary technique like he has but if you don't have the pace to go with it then you're doomed in English football. I can't also explain why he just doesn't seem to bulk up as time goes by. I also think that Steven Davis, while he won't change games on his own, does make the team work as he picks passes and recycles possession with incredible ease.

They are filming you in the queues at shops, banks and petrol stations. Do they treat drivers, account holders or just consumers in general as criminals? -
Also there is absolutely no chance that some of their players are bargains. These are L2 specialists and are definitely being paid accordingly.

Jed Wallace looks a good player but maybe a bit too lippy? Always moaning at his team mates. Also Home Park looks a really good stadium! What the hell went wrong at Plymouth in the last few years....

Yoshida is a rightful member of the first team and Mayuka is getting there I think. Agree on the other 2. -
Have we reached top level pricing at St Mary's?

I remember Fulham at home last year was played at the same weekend and at the same kick-off time and it was also our worst attendance of the season. Sunday lunchtime is just not a popular hour for our fan base. -

They had it coming for becoming increasingly obsessed with the dream of the PL. It was what brought that nutcase of an owner to the club, effectively changing their identity in order to attract to people who honestly don't care about PL ne'er do wells. Mind you he does sound as pragmatic as you'd expect a successful businessman to be, so as soon as he checks the next annual report he'll pull the plug. Swansea are the real deal in Wales. Cardiff had their shot but I fear they let it become more important than the club itself. Does it even feel that special for them? -

It doesn't really matter as most of the active population of the city does not live within the city boundaries anymore and either commute from nicer cities/towns around, IOW or other villages/towns in the SO post code area. The actual city, apart from very select patches, is mostly students (who are only here for half a year really),council estates or people who are in the city to earn a living they can't achieve in their hometowns and do not have time or energy to worry about such issues such as town planning. -

I will also point out that our airport is suffering from short-sightedness and a blind "if it ain't broke..." attitude. Possibly one of best airports in Britain in terms of location and accessibility (funnily enough the worst links are to the city itself, although the train is handy enough for the central city I suppose), with a mainline station connecting it virtually to half of the UK and smoothly to the whole of its catchment area, and yet it is completely monopolized by FlyBE (who do offer the odd bargain but most of the times rip you off), operates only short routes and the odd summer one and has possibly one of the most mug-minded terminals in the world. The way they fit 9 departure gates and make you go through that narrow labyrinth of a duty free after security into such a small terminal is just wrong. Also the entrance and pick-up point is one of the weirdest things you'll find in airports UK wide, very poorly organized. The runway is also not long enough to receive frequent capacity flights from the majority of medium range aircraft like the A320 or the B737, and these flights apparently have considerable weight (and therefore pax.) restrictions when flying from here. The day FlyBe pulls the plug the airport will be on its knees. Plymouth-Air Southwest v.2.0. -

This re-edition of Crap Towns is not only out of touch and lacking any realism, it also misses any comical content and comes across as written by true sour c*****s who don't seem to be enjoying life atm. Official justification for London, given by co-editor Sam Jordison who I don't think I'd ever like to meet: "People in London just have no idea what's happening in the rest of the country. They take a lot of what works in Britain, but you don't see much sign of them putting anything back. I think that's what lies behind the rage of a lot of the nominations. lot of the entries for other places are what you might call affectionate hatred, as you might tease a member of the family but know you have to put up with them. That's not the case with London – the hatred is real." I think someone would love a flat in Kensington. Or maybe just not where he currently lives. In fact it sounds like someone is very unhappy at life. -
Wasn't the easiest of introductions was it? Plus I'm sure it wasn't just us who wanted that moment of his career out. Don't think Boruc was at his psychological best after a summer of inactivity and ignored by the transfer market.

Bony is a tough one to handle. Bulky, quite tall, pacey and technically good. Plus Swansea do move their players around the area really well as their game is mostly about finding gaps to penetrate in the middle. Certainly had more work than in the last few games. -
I thought they were good, they did sing a fair number of times, what hindered their vocal ability was their small number. I remember last year Swansea had one of the biggest away attendances of the season, yet this year not even staff were expecting them to bring so few and proof of that is the buffer zone between the rest of the Northam and then. Any traffic incidents preventing many to attend?

At some stage in the 2nd half Lovren was kind of telling Fonte how impressed he was about how incredibly ****e Fox is. He kept facing to the left and making gestures on how he should cover a wing. Fonte just agreed, guess the older members of the squad pretty much know the drill. Good to see it's not a fans thing. Also just how neat and intelligent in his game is Steven Davis? -

Excellent win in a very tough game against a side we're expected to challenge if we are to keep progressing. Thought we started brilliantly but relaxed after the goal and have Boruc (who I expect will improve on his previous career-high level of form this season) and some desperate defending to thank. On a more positive note we are now also over the delusion that Danny Fox is a good PL back-up player. Needs a Sharp/Hammond-style loan soon and we need a new signing in later on in January (provided we can find someone willing to pay his wages!). 2nd half we struggled but it was certainly a closer affair. Again Swansea explored that M3 down the left side and the introduction of Ward-Prowse and Rodriguez for me was crucial. Firstly we started to get some more decent passing going on, and then Rodriguez gave us the pressure on Swansea's CBs (their FBs had long become wingers really) that a knackered Lambert wasn't being able to apply. His goal, at a time where we were better, gets top marks for perseverance, effort and belief (neat finish too considering). Overall we did ride our luck, but it was prize for being fresher off the mark. I guess we're on a roll ATM, football games and Murphy's law do seem to go hand in hand. Brilliant start to the season, I'll be conservative on this one but we can definitely challenge those european place candidates! -
Is it just me that is quite happy that despite our good form we seem to be a bit alienated from the media circus and microscopical team analysis that the PL press is about?

His dad is Spanish. Otherwise his surname would be Rodrigues, rather than Rodriguez. -

I am Portuguese too, and while I'm happy to see a page like this, the truth is that few people in the Portuguese football crowd know who José Fonte is, let alone that a Portuguese defender is starting for Southampton. Obviously more people know about him now than actually the number of people that did when he played back in Portugal, but the fact he didn't play regularly for one of the big 3 or even received widespread media attention in his PT career days means he's still pretty much under the radar. Defending is also not a department where we have been underperforming in this Brazil 2014 campaign. A call-up is not impossible though, but it's unlikely.
