  1. Can anyone quickly find the picture of Fratton with the old dear on the mobility scooter?
  2. Tell that to the toy salesman!
  3. According to a written answer to parliament to the then Secretary of State for Home Department, the average annual cost of employing a police officer (including all grades) is £54,300. With the money the DCSBs have not paid we could have had an extra 115 police officers on our streets for FOUR years. Think how many crimes could have been prevented? Someone get into the Daily Mail
  4. Emerson, remember that in their current and previous incarnations it's now over £25 million in taxes they have not paid. That buys a lot of nurses and policemen. Oh, and that the overpaid millionaire footballers gave always, and will continue to be, paid in full.
  5. I wonder what the Taxpayers Alliance make of Cameron's comments? they're normally pretty good at getting themselves in the media.
  6. £4m over 3 years, no? £1.3m pa. So a £100k bonus on that is 7.7%. A 7.7% bonus for winning just ONE game out of 50+ is pretty significant! Edit - pedg
  7. Could have been written by one of us!
  8. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/insmanual/ins11790.htm Soooo, confirmation that the validation order is only likely to be granted if PFC also pay HMRC. And if they can't do that, it ain't lifted and that will recorded and no doubt presented to the Companies Registrar on Feb 20th.
  9. Presumably HMRC will be present at the hearing for the validation order and will be given the opportunity to oppose it being granted? Surely then they will point out that unfreezing their accounts in the short term will simply allow PFC to continue trading whilst insolvent and continue to increase their debts? I don't see how it can be argued that they're not insolvent and even if PFC argue they need to pay staff to continue trading (ie actually fulfil the fixture on Saturday) then the positive impact on their cashflow from that game will be so minimal as to be insignificant. Does the court to whom they have appealed for the validation order have the powers to consider their solvency or otherwise? I work in a building full of lawyers, maybe I should go and ask one of them.
  10. Where did that £400k go though? Aren't their accounts frozen? Are Fulham waiting for the validation order to be granted before paying for Williams? Or did one of Al-Fayed's flunkies drive down from West London with a briefcase full of used notes? And Hutch - LOL at the silver lining comment
  11. Ooooh, Graham, you little tinker
  12. PFC Tom. Massive LOL.
  13. Russell Hobbs is my favourite News Webchat pseudonym
  14. FrattonFriend has it right. Chuckle.
  15. Nice one Trousers!
  16. Whoop, my Gusty Ass, sorry, Gus Dias, got through.
  17. To be fair, if WBA are doing the Skates a favour and are paying Mattock and Thorne's wages for the duration of the loan then they're not costing the Skates anything. If they sell 2 players on decent money and replace them with "free" loans then they should be applauded for finally doing something right.
  18. Not in a million years, no. PFC can't promise HMRC "first dibs" in the parachute payments because legally HMRC are, what, 4th in line after "football debts", Chinny and Gaydamak? Plus the CVA payment is in there too. If the validation order is granted, PFC's debt to HMRC will just grow by 50% overnight and there's no sign of any way it can be settled.
  19. All sounds good Weston, but where is this money coming from to actually pay the players?
  20. I don't see how the court will unfreeze their account unless Pompey also agree to settle the debt with the creditor who served the WUP, HMRC. So that means they'd have to have £1.6m plus this month's wage bill (£2m+?) in their frozen accounts. And if they have that, my name is John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood.
  21. Oh God. Claridge (skate ******) just asking on 5Live how HMRC have "allowed" the Skates to get into £1.6m debt with them. Erm, because they didn't pay their tax bill for 2 months, Steve. It's not the fault of HMRC, you ****.
  22. I would pledge the balance of my dog's bank account in Monaco but I don't even know it exists. Even though I signed the paperwork to set it up.
  23. Haven't "local business leaders" already, unwillingly, given them a **** load of money?
  24. I agree, love.
  25. Wait, what? The toy salesman is talking crap again? Surely some mistake!
