  1. The nearest pub, the King George V i think, is a 15 minute walk away.
  2. I for one hope so. The FA couldn't organise the proverbial p up in a brewery. Look at the debarcle that was Wembley. I shall now be throughing the Docker-p weight behind the Russian bid, although I'm open to bribes.
  3. An average squad that delivered way above average results for us. Just why WGS should have been trusted. That 10m, when set against the millions we lost by first one than two relegations, is small change.
  4. Yeah thank god for Southampton City Council for giving us SMS. Pity that tosser Lowe didn't invest in the Squad when WGS asked for it after the 2003 cup final. hey-ho.
  5. I believe so.
  6. Are just outside the play off places, have a slightly better home record than us, and have just had a good midweek result at Yeovil. A tough test awaits us Saturday, and as all our league games against teams in higher league positions than Walsall have failed to deliver a win, this game could be a good gauge as to where we are.
  7. Take into account Villa had 3K there and Portsmyth attendance is even more pathetic
  8. 16.5 K to watch bottom of league 1, on a wet and miserable night is better than all but a very small handful of clubs could get if they found themselves in our league. Less Portsmyth fans turned out to watch a cup quarter final against Premiership opposition!!!!!!! The Blues few expose themselves again as Hampshires No.2
  9. You sound like possibly the most boring, moaning, self-righteous, anally retentive Saints fan ever to set foot in SMS. I'm sure you're not, you just come across that way.
  10. Me, overreact? I'm saving that for when i have to chain myself to the Saints Shops door to prevent them selling bloody sashed shirts. We can swap points about what we wore and when, (and lets face it, in our greatest moment we were in yellow); but to every reader of this forum, every Saints fan old and new, every football fan in this country, we are club defined as playing in red and white stripes, and thats why in our 125th we should be wearing those stripes
  11. Had I been around in 1885 i would have argued that point, however that particular ship has sailed, and we are where we are. A club recognised the world over as playing in red and white stripes.
  12. Nonsense. for a start it hasn't changed since it's inception in the early seventies bar the odd tweak (most notably to the ball). And the fact is has stood for that long nearly forty years (not just any forty years but the most recent 40 years, and thus the 40 years people identify with most) suggest to me it is right and shouldn't be changed. (And if it is changed I vote you aren't aloud any where near the drawing board as your creation looks cack)
  13. Well your idea stinks. As soon as the next 'occasion' for someone to whip out there notepad and come up with another design and another reason to have us play in something other than red and white stripes.
  14. And we had a well organised campaign called 'SICK', Saints in conventional kit, that eventually succeeded. How can any club build tradition if you're chopping and changing your identity it every 5 minutes. My mum first watched Saints in 1948 and they played in red and white stripes. My late grandad watched Saints play in red and white stripes in the 1920's. LEAVE THE FVKKIN RED & WHITE STRIPES ALONE. :smt067
  15. The short answer is no. I need my half time pint.
  16. Leave the shirt alone. I don't care whether we played in red and white quarters or with a red sash 125 years ago. Ever since anyones living memory we've played in red and white stripes. I'm proud of our red and white stripes. LEAVE THE RED & WHITE STRIPES ALONE.
  17. Not sure about TVU but sopcast can't be downloaded onto Macs unless your Mac is Intel based and you have a degree in computer engineering. I'm making do with Radio Solent:(
  18. Cheers, i'll try that. Anything rather than listen on Solent
  19. You just made that up. How about another statue, maybe of saint Mary, give the artist who screwed up the original Ted Bates statue a second chance:rolleyes:
  20. Tempting fate a little. But since you posed the question, Portsmyth away. I love going to their cowshed.
  21. We should ditch 'Flybe' on our shirts (we don't need their twopence halfpenny eh Marcus?) and have "125 the South Coasts Oldest Club" instead.
  22. I opened this page and tried clicking on the 'sopcast' and then 'TVAnts' play link. I get a message that Mac OS X doesn't recognise addresses starting with 'tvants' Do i need to download something first or am i screwed because i'm on a Mac? Anyone any ideas please? Cheers.
  23. Steady on there. You're dangerously close to being taken in by the 'Portsmouth Myth'. They don't get that number at Fratton in the premiership. (they've been giving away around 3K tickets for most games this season to poor unsuspecting school kids, who know no better)
  24. PORTSMYTH DON'T NEED A NEW GROUND AS THEY CANT FILL THE ONE THEY'VE GOT ! If they want to sell the ground for housing and pocket a few quid they could ground share with Havant & Waterlooville. Much more appropriate.
  25. Doubt we'll see you there, ever. Not man enough.
