  1. I remember my first game at the Dell vividly. But I'm not sure what was the first away. It was either Brighton for an evening game, or Liverpool. Which ever was first they were only a couple of weeks apart. Circa 1980 (ish). My mates dad and uncle drove us to Brighton and between them drank a bottle of Whisky on the terraces and then drove us home mullered. Happy days. For the Liverpool game the same guy ran a coach mostly full of his extended family and significant numbers didn't make the coach home for various reasons.
  2. They used to do a cracking curry in there for a fiver.
  3. I've heard on the grapevine there were only 3 boxes sold, at the same asking price as last season, (£45K I think) and even Paris Smith and Randall were reluctant to buy, but did so only for 'political' reasons and after the season had started.
  4. From what I've been hearing this is a very good thing for the club, staff and fans.
  5. I'll give to the poppy day appeal and wear the poppy as i always do and always will. But where the **** has this recent evangelical zeal for wearing poppies and remembering come from? Even Network 54 is calling for everyone to wear a poppy and slap a few wogs at the same time!!!!!!
  6. No it's not.
  7. Since when did anyone wear a black armband for remembrance sunday? Did i miss a meeting again?
  8. I don't care as long as its a proper football club; no AFC Eastpark Athletic, Fryen Hill Sports or Bournemouth.
  9. As a bit of a hard man, I like to have a good ruck at football on Saturdays, so i'm a little at a loss myself. Anyone fancy a fight?
  10. Portsmouth's attendance includes an average of 3K tickets per game given away to local schools etc etc. The Blue few indeed.
  11. Hopefully someone will spread his nose across his face in prison. He's not a man he's a worm.
  12. I had the Saints crest tattooed onto my arm at Zacs when I was 16, and now at 43 i still like it, although it is a little faded. A mate of mine had it done at a tattooist in London and they missed out the 2nd 'T' so has been going around with a 'Southampon' tattoo for the last 20 years. Buyer Beware.
  13. You've convinced me. This site should be closed down unless people stick to discussing their favorite half-time biscuit or similar weighty topics.
  14. Portsmyth News on Friday 30th April and Monday 3rd May 1976 was all about 'the Mighty Saints' This uber hatred from the skates is a recent invention, and is consistent with most of their ******.
  15. But when Saints and Portsmyth have clashed, Saints have always come out on top. Soton Common, Covent Garden, Fleming Park, Lords, Portchester Station, and of course the Joiners. Not that any of that is anything to be proud of. Peace, love and unity.
  16. There isn't anyone saying we have a problem. But 13 points from 18 does leave room for improvement. Some people think that improvement could be made by playing 442, some think not; others don't want to have an opinion as they don't like questioning authority.
  17. Rows and rows and rows of empty seats at Portsmyth again today. Peter Storyteller will post it as a capacity crowd though no doubt. S41t ground, no fans.
  18. A good imaginative idea. Obviously nothing to do with Oldknow.
  19. What? You suggested we shouldn't question the manager. Being a football fan is all about having opinions, arguments, debates and questioning everything we've just paid through the nose to watch. Especially on a bloody forum. Nobody is saying anything is 'broke'; but that doesn't mean it can't be improved.
  20. So we're not suppose to question the manager because he is in a better position to decide formations? Bloody 'ell what do you talk about at the game, knitting, gardening, soil erosion ???
  21. The Professor has posted an interesting and pertinent quuestion, and gets a gob full for his troubles from some. I wasn't there today but listening on the radio it did sound like we created the better chances once we had changed to 442. This has been the case on several occasions this season including last week against MKD. The ball is played more on the deck and we create more chances. As Derry points out, maybe Pardew will play a whole 90mins of 442 when Connerly is fit enough to make it.
  22. But the biggest reason i hate those sad ****s is their ability to make up stories. That bull**** about SCUM (Southampton Company Union Men) is a case in point. Not one tiny little fraction of truth in that whole story. It even doesn't stand up to even the most casual of inspections. (how can you be a company and union man ?) And yet for years those tossers believed it.
  23. I hate them. With every drop of my blood I hate them. Pointless no mark, club supported by pointless gob****es. Until they were in the Premiership most people, in what has to be the countries most boring and uninspiring city, supported anyone but their local club. And after a very brief moment in the spotlight they are back to pitifully small crowds. A sad excuse for a poorly supported club whose few supporters have the biggest mouths in football. Give me the address of this skate site so i can tell those pussies myself.
  24. Only 3 boxes sold this season, 'cause they want 30K for them!!!!! Apparently that is down to Andrew Oldknow working his business magic.
  25. Just two?? I want three.
