Your the tosser saying the same thing a couple of weeks ago. You clearly have a strong oppinion on this. I suggest when you grow a pair you go to one one of said estates and tell the locals there what you think.

No. The stands are named logicaly. Chapel end facing the Chapel area of the City, the Northam facing the Northam district etc etc. It makes sense. Naming everything that moves after old players is naff.

I bet you forgot the constant lack of loo paper in the gents block 4-5. Thats 379.

Well that IS the point, we don't have a 'natural leader', and haven't for some time. FFS it's not rocket science, Roy Keane was no Pele on the ball, good but not great; yet he was Fergusons most important player by miles, because he had a brain and could lead by example. All we need is someone (with a pair) to sort this shower out on the field.

It's something we've been missing for a few seasons now, an outfield player with the ****** to take the lead. A Jimmy Case, Dave Watson, Chris Marsden, Jim Steele, Franny Benali, type.

F**k me! Did Jean-Paul Sartre play for us ?

'Pardew Out'

We've got Gobern, but he wasn't brought on until about 80minutes, far too late
-
Gillett should be starting. He was our best outfield player last season. He is the only midfield player we have who knows how to break up the opposition play.

Possibly the most boring uninteresting tie we could have got. yawn

I fookin hate that song. I can read and write and I can't drive a bloody tractor and have no desire to do so. You might as well just chant "I'm a village idiot" over and over.

It's the distance from stand to pitch not the size of SMS thats the problem. And I think our one standing /singing stand is one more than 95% of grounds around the country. I can't think of a ground with two. And as for your assertion that we're a 'family club' that idea went out for good when we became a Cat C policing issue. Not that thats anything to be proud of. The Dell was an intimidating atmosphere, many players including David Beckham cite it as being their least favorite ground to visit for that reason. We ought to be able to do the same at SMS despite the architecture.
-
Don't get me wrong. I think it was a great turn out for league one, and live on TV too. It's just that after the Millwall goal the fans seemed to fall asleep. And those sitting around the tunnel have never been awake anyway.
-
For most of yesterdays game there was a good atmosphere, lots of noise form the Northam and Itchen North, until Millwall leveled, and then nothing. The atmosphere from the Saints areas was as flat as a witches tit. Fridays Echo had a bit from AP saying when he used to visit SMS he never found the atmosphere intimidating. Nobody ever said that about visiting the Dell. Much of the reason for that we can't do anything about ie the architecture of the stadium and distance from the pitch. But we can continue to get behind the team when we concede goals. NB. It would also help if the puddings that sit near the opposition dug out actually made some noise and made it a little less welcoming.
-
We did run out of steam with about 10 minutes to go, but then so did Millwall. AP in interview on Solent did say we're still not fit enough. In the players defense it was bloody hot.
