I think he is worth hanging on to. He is clearly not fit, which is worrying, but if AP can sort that out ne could make a good leader in the back four which has been missing. But he's 32 (?), can he get the right level of fitness back at that age?

I think you need a history lesson friend. We didn't 'just win the cup' under LM. For the first time in our history we became an establish top flight club, qualifying for europe, finnishing runners up in '84 league cup final appearance in '79 and attracted the european footballer of the year to play in our colours. Not sure what he's been up to the last couple of years, but i would have him back. You can be sure he would be 100% committed and we have certainly lacked players like that recently.

Yeah I'm slightly underwhelmed too, which is perhaps a little unfair, but judging from the amount of posters on this thread that say they are merely 'happy with the appointment' I think my reaction is quite common. But he is no Tony Adams, Glen Hoddle, or Gary Glitter, so maybe I'm also 'Happy with the appointment'.

GM must have the highest thread started to thread posted ratio on the whole site. I was a noble boycotter as he puts it last season. After god knows how many seasons as a season ticket holder i didn't bother last. I still went to every game so the club in the end was better off for it, but season tickets are used as a weather vain of fans support, and my support for the regime that Lowe represented was nil. I like to think that i played an ever so small part in ridding our club of Lowe, and ushering in a new era. I've got a season ticket once more this season, and hope to god I'm not sitting anywhere near GM, although thats unlikely as no doubt he sits with the prawn sandwich brigade. I like to think GM and 19c have a little corporate box together where they can gibber at each other in a language only they speak.
