  1. Claims that James Cleverley was less than complimentary about the North East in the Commons during PMQs. ( Some might argue it is a rare case of a Government Minister being honest ).
  2. The electorate are expected to cheer the slight cut in NI whilst ignoring the fact that the overall tax burden is due to be the highest for over 70 years. Smoke, mirrors, and sleight of hand.

The Oslo Accords were not as simple and straight forward as that statement implies.

What about those in the West Bank, living under effective military occupation ? This has been going round on repeat for too long, and will need both sides to back down.

The next generation are growing up in a war zone, watching women and children die at the hands of the IDF. Rinse and repeat.

Why would Israel expect anybody else comply with a UN resolution ?

I suppose I can now claim my membership badge for the Pile On Crew. You posted this; "It appears now that the IDF killed many innocents civilians themselves in the Hamas attack of 7th October. https://new.thecradle.co/articles-id/13111" The article says this; "An Israeli police investigation into the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival near the Gaza border on 7 October revealed that an Israeli attack helicopter killed some of the attendees, Haaretz reported on 18 November. " Stop digging !
  8. I'm sure there would be at least 3 paragraphs' worth there
  9. Interesting genetic trivia, Jewish people are more likely to carry genetic resistance to Bubonic Plague. As a consequence, in medieval times they tended to be blamed for outbreaks as they seemed not to catch it.

Are you aware of the political and ethnic bias that attaches to the Cradle ? A selection of summaries from it's current front page; "Washington needs to win its Gazan war against Iran because it failed to win its Ukrainian war against Russia. " "As the west's support for Israel's Gaza war becomes indefensible, Moscow aligns itself with the global majority in defense of Palestine." "The only country that could possibly distract the west from Ukraine is Israel. But the US and its allies are walking into an existential trap if they think a West Asian victory will be more easily won than a European one." I am not merely dismissing the Cradle article, but as I said above, you need to consider the vested interests.
  12. Yet again no attribution to the Telegraph. However, the article quoted goes on to say "Economists emphasised that Brexit is one of several factors contributing to surprisingly strong wage growth in the UK. Other factors driving up wage growth include a wave of early retirement post-Covid and an increase in long-term sickness post-pandemic, both of which have contributed to a shortage of workers." ( https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/11/19/uk-wages-brexit-boost-leave-campaigners/ ) So maybe not as much of a Brexit boost as originally claimed.
  13. Strangely, with probably less than 12 months to the next GE, Rishi Sunak has said it is the right time to cut taxes.

I'm beginning to wonder why, myself. I just think that anything posted, from either side of the story, needs to be challenged as to it's veracity, as so much is tainted by vested interests or emotion.

On a percentile scale, from 1 to 100, what percentage is represented by "many"' ? This is the very point about such terms as "'many"', "some', "'few", "'a fraction"', '"part', "'most"', etc, they are quantified only by the person estimating them, rather than providing definitive, empirical, values.

Over time they will be able to identify most of the bodies, at least those of the civilian casualties, and they will have a fairly accurate idea about how many people attending the concert are currently listed as missing, which will help.

    1) NewsWeek have published a "fact check"' that verifies the existence of some form of below ground facility constructed by Israel. That being said, if they built it it should not be too difficult to find. 2) "Many" is a weasel word. There seems to be post-mortem evidence that some of the victims at the music festival died from 'friendly fire", but it would have been a very confused situation, with festival goers and terrorists mixed up and running in all directions, and similarly gunfire from both sides would have been random and untargetted. Panic, confusion, and lack of centralised command and control for the IDF at the site would have contributed to such incidents, but I think that "many" is an exaggeration. 3) The security and safety of the hostages is governed by how valuable Hamas see them as negotiation material. There will undoubtedly be some that have been trapped in areas targetted by the IDF, but I think that in the main Hamas would prefer to keep them alive.

We seem to have been shown a tunnel, something that starts in one place and ends at another, whilst passing under those bits in between. We have not yet been shown the command bunker that the IDF claim is under the hospital.

They fear that the small minority of fanatics that would be found in the mass of refugees would boost the insurgency that is already underway in northern Sinai.

Having previously told people to move south, Israel is now telling them to leave Khan Yunis, which is the main residential area in the south. They are saying to move west, where there will hopefully be tents and a field hospital. How far west they can go is a bit limited - the sea is just under 2 miles west of the city.
  24. Our daughter's best friend from school died of anorexia at the age of 15. When she was in hospital dying, she still saw herself as fat and refused food. If that isn't a sign of mental disorder, I don't know what is.
