Hamas' stated aim is the total liberation of Palestine and the establishment of a state therein that follows Sharia Law - "From the river to the sea" in effect. The quote about killing Jews, etc, is one selected quote from their scriptures, used to justify the removal of Jews from the area as it is historically Islamic, and remains so in perpetuity; elsewhere in their Charter they outline that Christians AND Jews are welcome to live under Islamic rule if they are willing to subject themselves to it, but their own religious practices will be tolerated as they form 'brother' religions.

Why, at this time, is Netanyahu appointing a ultra-nationalist suspected of the arson of a mosque to such a position ? I think it shows his attitude towards all Palestinians, or perhaps his arm is being twisted up his back by the zealots propping up his coalition.

I wonder if to Hamas that is a semantic difference.

Balance. The last couple of pages have many assertions that "plenty on the left" hold anti-Semitic views, implying it is a problem for that side of the political spectrum. The reality is that both sides have a problem with some parts holding such opinions, and villifying one without the other is taking a partisan stance.

But what this enquiry is showing is that they weren't following the science. Boris was dithering, Hancock was clueless, and overall the Cabinet were rudderless and unable to take decisions or control.

Letting the over 65s die - an excellent strategy for a large part of your electoral support.

Dom Cummins to Lee Cain on WhatsApp, about BoJo; "Get in here, he's melting down. I've literally said the same thing 10 fucking times and he still won't absorb it. I'm exhausted just talking to him and stopping the trolley. I have had to sit here for 2 hours just to stop him saying stupid shit". Lee Cain replies "I'm exhausted with him" Then Dom posts "It's only a matter of time before his babbling exposes the fact he doesn't know what to say".

Whilst goods can enter from Egypt, telecommunications, power and water are mostly controlled by Israel. Also, regarding the possibility of people leaving Gaza via that route, Egypt are reluctant to permit that as they fear it will escalate the problems they already have with rebels in northern Sinai.

You do understand what powers the Speaker has ? Also ihis election is an indication of the direction of travel for the GOP - Mike Johnson was one of the prime movers in the Trump election denial, and then there is the irony of his getting elected instead of Jim Jordan, who was seen as too extreme.

Yes, but generally with one sect targeting another. One issue with Islam is that a lot of it's teaching is left open to interpretation rather than having a figurehead to guide the congregation, such as the Pope or Archbishop of Canterbury. Thankfully, Christianity has largely grown out of it's fanatical fundamentalist phase, but it does have quite a history.

Same-sex marriage and any form of access to abortion are near the top of his agenda, for starters. He also believes that the Bible should be a much more formal basis for Government, rejecting the separation of Church and State.

Opposing rights for gays or women - are we talking about the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, who wants to more closely align the direction of US politics to Old Testament Biblical teachings ?

And Israel to remove the West Bank settlers, military checkpoints, and the security barrier, leaving the Palestinians there in control of their own destinies ?
