  1. GM will be hanging out the bunting, the Law is to be changed to permit the sale of wine in pint bottles.
  2. Just started watching Slow Horses on Apple TV. Gary Oldman leads as an extremely grungy, flatulent, MI5 section head, with a motley collection of failed agents sidelined by Kristen Scott-Thomas' Head of Operations. Imagine George Smiley in a flasher Mac, surviving on noodles, and having not had a bath for months.
  3. Giving house room in his garden shed to an unmarrtied, homeless, pregnant teenager.
  4. Who officiates cricket matches in the Vatican City ? The Holy Roman Umpire.
  5. James Cleverley demonstrating the inaccuracy of his surname; https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/james-cleverly-joked-giving-wife-31741719 "Home Secretary James Cleverly joked about giving his wife a date-rape drug, just hours after announcing a crackdown on the growing epidemic of drinks spiking. The top Tory told female guests at a No10 reception that “a little bit of Rohypnol in her drink every night” was “not really illegal if it’s only a little bit”. Mr Cleverly also laughed that the secret to a long marriage was ensuring your spouse was “someone who is always mildly sedated so she can never realise there are better men out there.""
  6. As our son has control of the TV remote we are watching the highlights of the 2008 Tour de France.

    Russia

Of the 29 people who have applied to be candidates in the Russian Presidential election, only one has so far been accepted to be put on the ballot. Guess who that might be.
  8. Taking two for the team ?
  9. Another Brexit fail; https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/dec/23/hard-cheese-canada-rejects-british-attempt-to-secure-tariff-free-exports
  10. Other than Leeds and Leicester, are there any other "decent" teams in the Championship ?
  11. Would anybody have suggested SRL ( age 27 ), was Premier League, and even England, material when we signed him ? He had only ever played in the 3rd and 4th tiers of English football.
  12. This news is a DISASTER. We have been really struggling without our new star striker, and so desperately needed him to come good to turn our floundering season around and boost our attempt to close the gap to the play off places. As the Wee Free Men would put it, "Wailee Wailee Wailee!"
  13. On Celebrity Mastermind, Troy Deeney and Dana both scored 0 on their specialist subjects.
  14. Interestingly, the penalties Rudy has to pay after his convictions in the defamation case are probably exempted from the bankruptcy, so he can't avoid them that way.
  15. Adverts in general; "New improved....", was the product shit previously? The cleaner "Now with a plant based ingredient"', so it has citric acid in amongst all the environmentally dangerous chemicals. Batteries "...containing recycled materials", probably the metal casing. If they are going to make these claims they should be made to make clear what exactly they are talking about, ( and not just with impossible to read tiny white text at the bottom of the TV screen ).
  16. The UK is close to a recession after figures are revised down.
  17. Worked with JFK. 😉
  18. But what if, at the last election, Corbyn had incited his supporters to overthrow the legitimate result and impose him as PM anyway ?
  19. Did you see any post vans ?
  20. The contractors building the Singleton bypass on the A585. To avoid penalties for missing their deadline they have opened the new dual carriageway on one side, with two way contraflow traffic, and no traffic lights to control traffic at the junctions as it crosses other roads. Last night at 7pm what was previously a 10 minute journey by the old road, now closed off, was taking 80 minutes. Cars trying to turn right off the road at the junctions block everything behind them whilst they are waiting to turn.

  22. The Colorado State Supreme Court has ruled that Trump's name cannot be put on Presidential ballots in the state, because of the part he played in fomenting insurrection.

    Russia

Send in the EU bureaucrats; they'll tie the Russians up in red tape and strangle them with regulations. ( @ Leave.eu )
