In what way is Biden "the worst President ever" ? How does he compare to Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, or Andrew Johnson? These 3 came in the bottom 5 of a poll of academics and historians asked to rated all US President's up to 2021, along with a certain Donald J Trump. https://www.c-span.org/presidentsurvey2021/?personid=20967

Haven't watched the series but have just watched the documentary that was broadcast after it, it just shows how difficult it is for the 'little people' to take on and challenge monoliths like the Post Office, who know things are wrong but also know they can get away with it. The bit I didn't know previously was the fact that FUJITSU had a back door route to give them remote access to all the Horizon terminals and accounts and could manually alter figures without the SPO ever knowing. Something that was expressly denied every time the PO or FUJITSU were asked about it.

Obviously in Iowa the staff don't have enough guns in school, otherwise they would would have prevented this; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-us-canada-67884835 This is apparently the second school shooting this year.

Not Hampshire related but the second test between South Africa and India was a mess; SA won the toss, batted first, and were all out for 55. India got to just oveer 150 for 4 before losing 6 wickets for 0 runs in 11 balls. The match ended in the middle of day 2 with India winning by 7 wickets in the shortest test, in terms of balls bowled, that had a positive result.

Not sure what is wrong with some of these pets but we have never had a bill approaching even £1000, and that's with ponies and a cat that fractured his spine and later developed a brain tumour.

If Horizon hadn't been a bespoke system for a single customer the issues being raised from more than one deployment might have made denying them more difficult.

Most of the prosecutions were private prosecutions as the PO was it's own investigation and prosecution agency. The evidence would have been presented as indisputable IT data, the PO being it's own "'expert witness"', and each case handled in isolation. Nobody outside the PO was joining the dots and internal dissention was squashed. I had to deal with a lot of ICL/ FUJITSU software systems in my job, and none of it worked properly first, second, or third time.

The. Post Office took the position that there were no problems with Horizon, despite reports being made almost from day 1 of discrepancies and errors. As the PO was it's own investigation and prosecution service no external agencies were involved until 2014 when an external audit reported that Horizon was "'not fit for service"', at which point the PO dismisswed the report, cancelled it's contract with the externsl auditors, allegedly told them to destroy all the paperwork, and carried on regardless.

Have had cats and dogs for over 40 years, ( currently 2 large cats and 3 dogs including a Newfoundland ), and never had insurance because we reckon it costs more over the lifetime of the animal than you are likely to ever have to claim. Bear in mind that once the animal gets beyond a certain age most conditions and ailments are no longer covered. We did, however, insure the kids' ponies.

That's what living in Warrington does for you.

I put the wrong name in the post you quoted, but the gist is the same. I agree it is most unlikely, as the previous 50+ attempts to amend the Amendment have all floundered.

Mitch McConnell, and a few others among the senior leadership of the Republicans, are opposed to term limits and have stated their desire to repeal the 22nd Amendment.

Would VAR have reviewed it ?

I don't think Trump is as much a cause for worry compared to some of the fucking loons riding his coat tails in Congress.

The sort of thing where if they have underpaid a refund to you it takes months for it to be received, but an overpayment is demanded immediately - "OR ELSE"!

Sunak and Cleverley announce that all of the "legacy backlog" of asylum claims, those lodged before June 28 2022, have been cleared, thus achieving one of Sunak's pledges. A little later the Home Office release figures that show over 4500 such cases are still pending. Meanwhile the number of outstanding unresolved applications made since that date is still growing.
