  1. Correct. Why could you not have simply said that half a thread ago and left out all the 'Jewish policies' malarky ?
  2. Somehow Holland has pulled Hants back into the match.
  3. I'm not sure Pog was 100% before the Tour started, and his efforts on the couple of stages before the second rest day were a desperate attempt to paper over the cracks he knew were there. I think he went too deep yesterday and today's crash, even if slight, was a psychological hammer blow. ( Jealous of your piccies from the Alps ).

    Russia

According to President Zelensky the grain destroyed by the Russian attack was destined for China.

    Russia

They are thought to have just about exhausted pre-war stocks, and rumoured to be producing around 60 cruise and tactical ballistic missiles per month. Firing 30 in one attack in a fit of pique at (1) the Kerch bridge being attacked again and (2) nobody giving in to their attempted blackmail over the grain export deal, does not seem to make a great deal of sense. If they repeat this level of attack daily for the next fortnight then the rumours are probably wrong.
  7. My wife did Politics at Uni, decided that she was too ethical and honest to make that her career, so went into teaching.
  8. Did you go to Eton or Harrow, did you study PPE at Oxbridge ? Alternatively, for the other side of the House - are you a Trade Union activist ?
  9. Holland, Middleton, Brown, and Dawson score 2 between them, ( well in fact Dawson scored 2, the others nothing ).
  10. Historical data says otherwise; https://www.floodsax.co.uk/news/the-wettest-places-in-the-uk-revealed-and-why-the-people-who-live-there-need-floodsax-alternative-sandbags-for-flood-protection/
  11. Very easy to do, getting easier as IT develops, and easier still to convince the gullible to spread it. Did you read the FactCheck article ?

  13. Leeds is wetter and they played the last test there. Test matches are played around the country to give all fans a chance. Other than the 2 matches in London, other grounds get them on rotation, this year Manchester gets a turn. Remember, Old Trafford is where Jim Laker took match figures of 19-90 in an Ashes test. ( EDIT - and it rained at Lords in the second test ).
  14. So we do nothing ?
  15. Bang heads together and point out we are all in this together. What would you suggest ?
  16. I agree. It is a Global issue, and our net-zero effort is very much a minor contributor, but to do nothing simply because China and India are lagging behind is hardly helping solve the problem. As things stand, everybody is standing around pointing fingers at somebody else saying "they aren't doing anything so why should we", whilst the problem spreads and worsens. Perhaps, as it is an issue affecting all it's members, and disproportionately the poorer ones, the UN should grow some balls.
  17. Sometimes it isn't the job that loses it's luster per se, sometimes it's ruined by crap management turning a job you enjoy doing into a nightmare.
  18. Obviously we need to mitigate, but ignoring the effects down the line of further CO2 emissions in the shorter and medium term, and not acting on those now, is negligent at best. Each fraction of a degree of additional temperature only makes the problem worse and much more difficult to ameliorate.
  19. All 40 of them.
  20. There are many factors in this complicated equation. As Buctootom has said, CO2 levels have increased by 40% since pre-industrial times, but the correlation is not linear. Small increases in CO2 cause atmospheric warming and that warmer air can then hold more moisture - water vapour is a very efficient GHG. Once Artic temperatures start to rise the tundra warms and methane, another GHG, can be released. Other activities such as pollution of the seas and deforestation adversely affect the natural carbon sinks of rainforests and algal growth. Warming seas can bleach coral reefs, shutting down another natural absorber of CO2. Loss of Artic and Antarctic ice means that heat that would otherwise be reflected back is now going into the sea.
  21. Government Minister in the Lord's explains why the cartoon murals in the reception centre for immigrant children were painted over........
  22. Kemi Badenoch on the Laura Kuensberg show saying there is no sign of a trade deal with the US because you "cannot force people to sign". Also implying that the US isn't joining the CPTPP because of a change of administration, despite the fact that Donald Trump withdrew from negotiations and Biden has just maintained that position.
  23. Nobody is going to call you out as anti-Semitic for that post. At least you finally seem to be acknowledging the difference between "Israeli" and "Jewish".
  24. The UK joins the CPTPP. Given we already had trade deals with most of the members, in reality we have gained 2 new deals; Malaysia and Brunei. It is forecast ( guessed ), by the Government, that the deal will add about 0.1% to the UK's GDP, which hardly starts to make up for the 4% lost due to leaving the EU. Yay !!!
