The Met have said that the AI generated audio pretending to be by Sadiq Khan is not a crime. I wonder if they will investigate the deepfake posing as Home Secretary.

Yes it is, and they will get disproportionate media coverage.

Macron has to manage with sizeable North African immigrant communities that are notorious for street protests.
  7. How many analysts do you think the DoD employs? She is hardly Jack Ryan. And it is hardly a "'seminal paper", it is her university thesis. I could dig mine out of the attic and post it on the Internet, it wouldn't make it authorititive.
  8. Who gives a flying fuck about your favourite sources ? If you had spent "an hour to learn", or even just a couple of minutes, you would have worked out this is not the Climate Change thread.
  9. This is the Brexit thread you twat.

"Pro-terrorist", pro Palestine, or pro peace ? One of these is not the same thing as the other two and not the cause being marched for. Guess which one.

As a general point, you can hardly march on Parliament in Leicester or Berwick-on-Tweed. It is central London's problem because that is where the Seat of Power lies.

    Coronavirus

So much backtracking and revisionism ; "On-the-spot fines of £10,000 for breaching Covid laws on large gatherings were too high, the home secretary during the pandemic has said. Dame Priti Patel told the Covid inquiry the penalty - introduced ahead of the August bank holiday in 2020 - was not proportionate. She added that, along with her officials at the Home Office, she had pushed back against it at the time." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67372615 "Dame Priti also accepted that the Covid regulations had proved confusing for both the public and police - but said drafting the legislation was "solely the domain" of Matt Hancock's health department."

So what you are saying is that by virtue of offering support to the Palestinian civilan population you are de facto anti-Semitic? That is over simplistic in the extreme, if not downright insulting. The only mention of concentration camps was in the context of Holocaust deniers.

Nothing of the sort. The point being made was actually the reverse, people denying the suffering of Palestinians were being compared with people who turned a blind eye to the Holocaust.
  19. When you find a source that is not the IEA, Mail, or Express we might, perhaps, give a seconds thought as to whether it was a reliable quote.

Maybe they have moved to the south. "He that fights then runs away lives to fight another day".
  21. Saint George - lived in the USA and a full blown GOP MAGA loon without a good word to say about the UK. WesTender - disagreed plenty over Brexit, but unlike some avoided personal attacks Dune - sent me a PM saying he was about to get banned, was off to the UI, and I would miss him.
  22. Why, he sneers at everybody else.
  23. Extract from a BBC article about Cruella; "These latest comments are unhinged," one senior Conservative tells me. A senior Conservative MP adds: "The home secretary's awfulness is now a reflection on the prime minister. Keeping her in post is damaging him." A third source, a senior Tory, claims her remarks about Northern Ireland are "wholly offensive and ignorant."

  25. Wasn't that posh, I went there as well. Luckily, he was just starting his final year when I started first year, so I don't think we ever met. Mind you, his LinkdIn says he went to the University of Portsmouth, which is a fib.
