Well, he has certainly tried to acheive that one, given the number of marriages, mistresses, and sprogs he has accumulated. -

And Israel aren't illegally occupying territory in defiance of multiple UN resolutions ? As for talking to HAMAS and McGuiness, the UK Government talked to McGuiness and then allowed him to hold a senior ministerial post in the NI Assembly. Also, look up how many of the Presidents and Prime Ministers of Israel during it's first 30 years of existence, were convicted or suspected terrorists under the UK Mandate in Palestine. Sooner or later you solve conflict by dialogue. -
Let Newcastle have him. £100k on their wage bill and one less slot in their squad for a player who might actually improve them.

Unless Chelsea have a call-back clause in the current loan agreement, surely he is ours until the end of the season regardless of anybody else that might submit a bid ?

Liar, liar, pants on fire: Bojo has stated that it was 'complete nonsense' when people said he had intervened to permit the evacuation of the NOWZAD charity's animals. Written evidence submitted to a Parliamentary committee includes the following email between Foreign Office officials; Hi [name redacted], We spoke – thank you for your time. [animal charity – name redacted] are a [details redacted] animal charity operating in Kabul and seeking to evacuation their [details redacted] members of staff (no animals). Equivalent charity Nowzad, run by an ex-Royal Marine, has received a lot of publicity and the PM has just authorised their staff and animals to be evacuated, [animal charity – name redacted] are hoping to be treated in the same capacity (granted LOTR). The [animal charity – name redacted] staff can all be guaranteed employment in the UK by [details redacted]. -
What about horse racing odds ? Do they reflect the chance of a horse winning a particular race ? Here is a clue: if you answer 'no,' you are wrong. Of course they do- the bets reflect many factors, including the form of the horse, jockey, and trainer, the course and distance, and the 'going'. All factors that affect the horse's chances, and therefore reflected in the betting patterns. As for transfer odds, people bet with the anticipation of winning. So the more money is placed, the greater the groundswell opinion amongst the punters that whatever they are backing will occur. It is only in outlier bets that the amount tendered distorts the 'book', generally a single large bet being placed where only a few smaller bets have currently been made: ( eg, after 100 bets of £10 have been made, you troll up and place £1000. If the original field had been 2000 bets of £10, your bet would not affect the odds as much, but the event would be more likely to happen, in the eyes of the punters ).

The inquiry was set up such that any 'potentially criminal' evidence would be passed on, Sue Gray cannot investigate this as she is not a Legal Officer. The one thing I have taken from today's statements is that the Gray Inquiry report will be placed in the public domain, something that the rules on the Ministerial Code do not allow for - the release of information under the Code is at the discretion of the PM, who is the only person that would normally get to see it.

Which begs the question 'Why was nothing said or done at the time ?".

The fact that stories like this really happen; https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/23/ireland-carlow-death-post-office-pension "Police suspect that a dead man who was brought to a post office in Ireland by two men trying to claim his pension had died just hours before the incident"

"Up to 30 people are said to have attended the event in the Cabinet Room after Boris Johnson returned from an official visit to a school in Hertfordshire. ITV News understands that the interior designer, Lulu Lytle - who was not a member of No 10 staff - also attended the gathering. At the time Ms Lytle was renovating Boris Johnson’s flat in Downing Street, which has been the subject of a separate controversy. Nine days before the alleged birthday bash at No 10, on 10 June, Mr Johnson asked the public "to continue to show restraint and respect the rules which are designed to keep us all safe" during a Downing Street Covid press conference" https://www.itv.com/news/2022-01-24/boris-johnson-had-birthday-bash-during-lockdown-itv-news-understands -
I would hope that Salisu has set his ambitions higher than Newcastle could ever offer. If he continues to develop and put on the sort of performance he did against Man City, the real 'big boys', in Europe as well as the Prem, will be interested.

I don't recall the long haul 'road bridge' to and from Ireland being mentioned by Leave.EU.
-
Only the quotes in my post ( above ) from the port operators. Generally it would be more economic and quicker to drive as much of the journey as possible, and much freight between Ireland and the EU did indeed previously go via Holyhead, and the other Welsh ports. EDIT https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/brexit-has-significantly-altered-irish-british-freight-traffic-report-finds-2021-08-12/ "The most significant factor behind the changes was traders abandoning the once-speedier British "land bridge" - where hauliers would take a short sea crossing between Dublin and Holyhead in Wales, drive across Britain and then take another ferry to mainland Europe." ( Note, this is not from the Irish Embassy !!!! )
