I think the lesson from today is to not get over confident in possession and over commit down the flanks against a strong counter attacking team. One lucky pass through or over midfield and we permit ourselves to be left 2 on 2, and forwards like ASM are always likely to out pace central defenders. ( Though Salisu seemed to match him most of the time ).

So how do you describe it ?

Seems like you do as well - so explain why what is happening does not have a human assisted element.

Never seen a home team park the bus like this.

Mind you, I am bound to trust the credentials in Climate Science of a PhD in American History who hails from Texas !

Go on, you start.

I wouldn't think that any BlackHawk left behind is serviceable, at least for very long. They were being maintained by US contractors, and no way that spares could be found. They need constant attention in the heat and dust, it is not like hot wiring a Humvee.

What would Donny have done, considering he worked out the surrender agreement ?
-
And the US retreats back to it's mainland, with thousands of miles of ocean either side to provide a buffer.

If you don't watch or read the news perhaps. They have been active in Afghanistan for several years, trying to take territory and fighting the Taliban. Splinter groups in East and sub-Saharan Africa have been similarly active in places such as Kenya and Mali, ( where the French military are heavily involved ). And they haven't been removed from their spawning grounds in Syria snd Iraq.

You don't build democracy in a country by picking a favoured faction and supporting them against all others. There are many historical social, tribal, and religious issues in Afghanistan that need to be worked into any democratic framework, and the US effectively imposing a leadership was never going to create a stable democracy.

Does it come with the crayons, or do you have to buy them separately ?

The issue was always going to be how to finish an open ended war, against such a hard line ideology, in a country that has always proved nigh-on impossible to unite. Rory Stewart's documentaries on the BBC give a good historical perspective of the mess the West were digging themselves into; as usual the US produced all sorts of excellent plans for bombing, strafing, and suppressing the enemy, but had almost nothing in the way of consolidation plans or exit strategy. What were the last 2 wars the US won without leaving an almighty mess ? The invasions of Grenada and Panama.

He's not that smart. Look at some of his other foreign policy moves, such as his attitude towards NATO; they were generally supportive of an isolationist viewpoint, and appealed to his core support. The US has always tended to be this way in it's attitude to the World.

You have become one totally tedious tit.
-
No, it was opportunistic. Do a bit of background reading. The Taliban and IS are sworn ideologically opposed enemies, both sides execute any of the other side on sight.
-
IS will not plan international actions in Afghanistan, they are targetting the Taliban directly, as they view them as Apostate. They will get zero support from the Taliban.
-
Antrim was more fun.
-
They never went away. There were 2 attacks in Kabul in May, and a suicide bomber attacked a market in Iraq in July. The Afghan intervention was never about IS - they didn't exist when Nato went in.

Given our last performance up there, could he be any worse as an option ?

I would not trust any Government derived statistics that "prove" a Government policy suggestion is a good idea.

Who is trolling ?
