The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
badgerx16 replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
The PIP process is grossly mismanaged, from the client perspective, but I am sure it makes Capita's bosses a lot of money. I was asked to sit in on one assesment in support of the claimant - when she got the written report back it included answers to questions that had not been asked, and answers she had given were not correctly reported. The appeal went to Court, and lasted less than 3 minutes, long enough for the DSS to admit their "errors" and the claimant's payments retored to the previous level. The main bone of contention was that the process is geared to physical impairments rather than mental health. Asking somebody with Bulimia or Anorexia whether they are able to prepare food misses the point as to whether they are capable of eating correctly. Asking somebody with a history of self harm as to whether they know how to handle a knife borders on sheer bloody lunacy ! -
There are clues out there, even with everybody supposedly signed up to NDAs; https://www.businessinsider.com/cost-pfizer-astrazeneca-moderna-vaccine-eu-revealed-belgian-mp-2020-12?r=US&IR=T "For example, the EU appears to be paying 24% less for shots of the Pfizer vaccine compared with the US, the Guardian reported, citing analysis from Bernstein Research. The EU contributed significant funding to BioNTech, who developed the vaccine for Pfizer. Similarly, the US is paying $4 a dose for the vaccine produced by AstraZeneca and developed in Oxford, UK, while the EU will pay $2.18 (€1.78,) Bernstein said."

As, by your own admission, are you.

A US pharmacist has agreed to plead guilty to tampering with Covid vaccine vials because he believed the jabs could harm people, prosecutors say. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55821623

The fact that the EU is having issues is not an indication of a benefit to the UK from Brexit, and it is more than disingenuous for certain posters to claim it is.
-
We are out of the EU, there is no need to keep trying to justify that decision. You are demonstrating a very worrying obsession.
-
As has been stated before, the UK was always able to do it's own thing with vaccine procurement, and could have done so without Brexit. Nothing in the EU's laws and procedures prohibited this.

Bednarek does the same thing in the first minute and Macca saves his bacon.

It is all well and good some saying Valery and Vokins ard not up to the job, but how likely are we to be getting a replacement for one, let alone both ? Whoever might come in is hardly going to be a first team starter.

Thanks to Les 😉

Let's hope it doesn't end with "Sleeping with the Angels". -
They said last week that they expected to start delivering again from the 23rd.

The genome sequencing that identifies the mutations is done by specialist laboratories on random samples; they know where the samples come from, but not necessarily the patient.

Yes. HTH

It is theoretically possible under the UK system for a party to get over 50% of the vote and yet concede a Parliamentary majority to a party getting less than 30 % of the vote.

Unfortunately this is correct. People have to understand the logistics of the Electoral College and the critical importance of certain States, as has been made clear in the last 2 elections.
