Meanwhile in Moscow...... "In the Presnenskoye police department, children and their parents are left overnight. The police detained them when they laid flowers at the Ukrainian embassy"

If you count reservists, Russia has over 2 million troops. However, a dispirited army is no more than a rabble, no matter how large it is.

They took control of one diesel-electric sub when they split from Russia, it was unserviceable because it's batteries were knackered. Eventually it was being refitted, but was seized by Russia when Crimea was annexed. It has since been deemed to be obselete.

Now, if Ukraine had a submarine.......

Simply referring to Ukraine as a "western country" doesn't alter the raw facts; the Russian army's regular strength is 5 times that of Ukraine, Russia has ( had ) 5 times as many AFVs, 10 times as many aircraft, 20 times as many helos. Also the best of Russia's kit is much better,on paper, than the best of Ukraine's, and Russia has much more capable technological warfare capabilities. Retreating to more urbanised areas adjusts the strength disparity in the defender's favour and reduces the effectiveness of long range or heavily armoured weapon systems.

Putin has created a very revisionist view of history to justify his twisted logic of resisting Western/European "expansion". This is entirely down to him, and the clique that surround and pander to him.

How many are Tory party donors ?

Putin is living in a parallel universe, one contained entirely within his head. His generals know the truth, yet just sit there and back his narative.

Ukraine says that it has 'terminated' a Chechen assasination squad aiming for President Zelenskyy. They say the Russian state security bureau tipped them off about the attempt.

It probably explains what we have been seeing so far. At some point soon Russia will have to deploy some far more competent troops, and commit it's airforce fully.

Russian law prohibits conscriptrs being sent to conflict zones. Western assessments are that many thousands of conscripts, having been sent to the 'exercises' had their status changed from a 12 month conscription term to a 3 year 'contracted' regular soldier, without warning or right to challenge.

I didn't say it wasn't a thermobaric bomb, I said that reports say it hit an ammunition depot, whatever it was.

Reports that it was an ammunition depot.

Sanctions announced against Lukashenko and Belarus.

The way things are going they would run out of equipment long before they reach the German border.
-
The amount of Russian kit listed as 'abandoned' is telling.

No need to obliterate them, just block the head of the column. Units 20Km back will just sit and freeze. There doesn't seem to be much urgency to get the trucks forward, or to find alternative routes.

If half of what is being claimed about the Russian army and it's performance in Ukaraine is true, surely NATO has no need to fear a conventional attack.

From the thread that image comes from : Oryx @oryxspioenkop · 50m I’ve lost all hope of accurately depicting Russian equipment losses. They’ve become too numerous. For every entry two new losses pop up. Its carnage.

Latest from the BBC ; " Some clarity on that massive Russian armoured column heading south towards Kyiv. Close analysis of the latest satellite images by McKenzie Intelligence Services reveals the following: The convoy is not 40 miles long, it’s a series of logistical ‘packets’ strung out along a major highway from the Belarus border, aiming to link up with Russian units on the northern outskirts of Kyiv. The convoy appears to be hampered in several places by broken down vehicles. The column consists of some armour (tanks) and infantry fighting vehicles but mainly logistical vehicles, implying plans for more than just a brief battle."
