  1. Unfortunately the GOP hasn't the cohones to support impeachment.
  2. Exactly. If anyone is at fault for sandwichgate it's GM.
  3. You truly are pathetic. Are you claiming that the Dutch should be eternally, grovellingly (?), grateful for food drops during 1945. The border officials were enforcing their laws, in exactly the manner that was made obvious in the build up to Dec 31st. You get the same treatment going to New Zealand.
  4. Bit late for that old boy.
  5. At least 10 Capitol Police officers are under investigation over their actions on Jan 6th, 2 have been suspended from duty.
  6. 2 stories from CNN; "The FBI has received information indicating “armed protests” are being planned at all 50 state capitols and the US Capitol in Washington, DC, in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, according to an internal bulletin obtained by CNN." "Armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols from 16 January through at least 20 January, and at the US Capitol from 17 January through 20 January,” it says. The bulletin, which emerged after rioters stormed the US Capitol last week, also suggests there are threats of an “uprising” if President Trump is removed via the 25th Amendment before Inauguration Day. Additionally, the FBI is tracking reports of “various threats to harm President-Elect Biden ahead of the presidential inauguration,” the bulletin states. “Additional reports indicate threats against VP-Elect Harris and Speaker Pelosi,” it adds. That's a bit bigger than a Saturday night in Maidstone ! ............................................................................................................................................ "Steven Sund, the now former head of the US Capitol Police, said he asked for help on the day pro-Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, and was told that putting National Guard troops in front of the building in response to the mayhem was more about optics than it was about keeping the grounds safe." They were worried about the image of fully equipped National Guardsmen standing in front of the Capitol to block a march by by Trump's fascists - didn't seem to matter for the BLM march.
  7. Agreed. Given the responses of Twitter and AWS which have reduced his level of publicity, perhaps for now there should simply be a mass ignoring of Donald Chump by the news media. Concentrate on the build up to Biden's inauguration, and pick up whatever stick they wish to wield to beat Trump afterwards.
  8. Impeachment won't do that. If the impeachment was successful then a separate vote would be required to bar him from standing for President again. Impeachment requires a 2/3rds majority, the second vote requires a simple majority of 1.

So now we know that "local" means at least 7 miles. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-55620138 "A No 10 spokesman would not confirm if Mr Johnson had been driven to the park or cycled there, but said the PM had complied with Covid-19 guidelines." "Health Secretary Matt Hancock was asked at Monday's Downing Street press conference whether travelling seven miles for a cycle ride was within the rules. Mr Hancock said: "It is ok to go if you went for a long walk and ended up seven miles from home, that is OK, but you should stay local. "It is ok to go for a long walk or a cycle ride or to exercise but stay local.""

  13. Having worked in Blackpool for over 33 years, and having never been to Kent, I was trying to gauge what was being discussed.
  14. Is that as bad as Maidstone ?
  15. Goebbels would be proud of that speech.

  17. Never been to Maidstone. I assume it's like a down market Blackpool.
  18. Lauren Boebert is the one demanding to be allowed to take her gun to work in Congress as she needs to be able to protect herself inside the Capitol.
  19. Ask Ducky, he'll tell you that's a regular sight in Maidstone.
  20. With the people watching through the fence and from their back bedrooms, have Marine got the biggest crowd of the round ?
  21. Trump wanted to subvert the election result, many of his supporters in Congress supported him, claiming without any shred of evidence that the election was 'rigged' or 'stolen'. Trump held his rally and stoked up the crowd who then went to the Capitol intending, at the least, to intimidate the Legislature into doing Trump's bidding and overthrowing the EC vote, as Trump and Giuliani continued to do whilst the House was in lockdown. This is by definition insurrection: "an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government". Thankfully the Constitution was adhered to, VP Pence refused to succumb to Trump's exortations to exceed his lawful powers, and ultimately Trump and the protesters reduced the level of opposition inside the House as 4 of the 6 planned objections to State certifications were effectively withdrawn as a consequence of the invasion. Do you seriously think that the people trapped inside the building whilst armed guards stood at barricaded doors thought "It's not that serious - just a bunch of lads letting off a bit of steam. Just like Maidstone on a Saturday night".
  22. "The first rule of project mayhem is you do not ask questions.".
  23. I think this will be one of the few posts directly entered on this thread. I couldn't work out where else to post it..... This is the first line of a story on the CNN International news website; Denmark's flagship broadcaster has suffered blowback over its newest children's TV program, "John Dillermand" -- an animation starring a man with a penis so massive and flexible it can save children from danger, fetch objects from a river and operate as a pogo stick. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/07/europe/denmark-john-dillermand-controversy-scli-intl/index.html

How 'local' do you stay to your home ? Have you not even stretched a single piece of Government guidance since the start of LD1 ?
