  2. It would be interesting to see how a "semi open" border would work in practice. The official count gives 208 identified crossing points, unofficially estimates put it as high as 275.
  3. What have I told you about politicians' promises.
  4. Ditto with leavers if remain won. Pandora's box was levered open by Cameron, and all the evils released will not be put back inside.
  5. Qué ? I didn't pay too much attention to "Project Fear", as I had little more than contempt for Cameron and Osborne, and I have always viewed Farage as a self-interested and completely untrustworthy, loathsome, chancer.
  6. Well, one group of them are. The fantasists on the other side are saying it's the best outcome.
  7. I know I was lied to, by both sides, which is why I made up my own mind based on my own knowledge and understanding, and decided that to leave the EU was, and still is, a bad idea.

  9. At least we are used to it.
  10. When they moved Sissoko to RB we started to have a lot of success down our left, but after about 15 minutes of the 2nd half we stopped getting in behind him as, time after time, we got level with the penalty area and turned infield and looked back for the pass. As others have said, how much energy did Bertrand expend getting past on the overlap, only to be completely ignored.
  11. Not good enough - predictable, laboured, toothless and clueless in attack. And for those questioning the drop ball near the end, that's the rule; the ball goes to the defending team, uncontested.
  12. If his local bobbies are anything like the Cleveland force, there wouldn't be much point.
  13. Vest off, Valery on, back 4.
  14. Brings a complete lack of pace to the full back position.
  15. A quiet night in the Badger household, as my City supporting wife studiously avoids asking me how the match is going.
  16. But they may be a bit blue.
  17. A lovely example of fluid nationality; Pieter Labuschagne is a South African playing for and captaining Japan, whilst his brother Marnus plays cricket for Australia.
  18. EU saying they are ready for no-deal, pity we aren't.
  19. This post ranks right up there with other classics of yours on the Pompey Takeover thread. A succinct and accurate summary presented in the best tradition of British satirical put-down.
  20. No, only the potentially violent nutters, ( whatever their political affiliation ), are likely to turn out to be so, but it is likely that most, if not all, of that group voted leave, based on the current weight of evidence. A leave result in the referendum was always likely to encourage this sort of activity, so people with such tendencies would have been drawn to it.
  21. Let's make a deal, I'll condemn any Remainers claiming all Brexiteers are 'racists' if you reciprocate for any of 'you lot' calling Remainers 'traitors'.
  22. There will be a bloody riot if somebody tries to make me watch that !
  23. Do you want 'mock' outrage. or would you prefer the genuine article ? The bile and disgraceful tone of our politics, currently, merely encourages the nutters who watch MPs on live TV, snarling and hurling invective, and inciting violent responses by using terms such as 'traitor' and 'Surrender Act'. It doesn't matter which side they are on, and makes we worry about whether we can ever heal the divide that has been exposed in popular opinion. ( Nice bit of digging to find a year old story, )
