  1. I give him until the end of August.
  2. How could anybody be more eccentric than selling off the entire first team squad ?
  3. Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC · 4h My understanding is that Jay Rodriguez has already agreed terms with Spurs after the clubs met in Toronto last week Coincidence ?
  4. So, who would be in the running to buy a category-1 academy, a 32 thousand seater stadium, and the promise of next season's parachute payments ? Because if things carry on as they are, that is all that is on the table.
  5. I think we need at least 4 before Friday, just to stem the heamorrhage and show some intent - and they need to be 'names' rather than something that smacks of desperation.
  6. If you can, find a decent LBS ( Local Bike Shop ) and see what they have, it also gives you the opportunity to seek their advice and you should also be able to arrange test rides. FWIW I wouldn't bother with full carbon, unless you are really keen or racing an alu frame with carbon forks will be comfortable and responsive enough. As for gearing, a compact chainset with Shimano components is the easiest to get used to and maintain.
  7. I wouldn't have enough faith in the Board to ask them to buy a pound of apples.
  8. The problem is that if you are a true supporter you cannot 'wash your hands' of the team. In the normal course of things players come and players go ; I've seen Channon, Shearer, and Beattie leave, hell Big Ron even went to Pompey. I've seen as many relegations as promotions, and even in the darkest days of Poortvliet and Wotte I went out and supported my team. I've seen the team that finished 2nd behind the scousers, and I've suffered the Branfoot era, and no matter what goes on before the end of August I could NEVER turn my back on my team and walk away. ( Mind you, at the moment the only crumb of comfort is that the many Blackpool ST holders in my office are in a worse position - at least up to now ).
  9. Lovren only ever intended Saints to be a stepping stone.
  10. 1) Perhaps Reed expected 3-4 leaving, ( we've so far only had 3 confirmed sales ), but the new manager has decided that situations like Lovren's are best dealt with by offloading a perceived troublemaker; 2) Perhaps Koeman was relaxed about an additional departure or 2 because he knows about imminent signings. Then again, perhaps tomorrow KL will sanction the sale of every contracted player and Staplewood will be transformed into a wind farm.
  11. Currently I trust in RK, so reckon we;ll be comfortably mid table ( 8th - 12th ). The caveat is I reserve the right to re-assess after the window closes.
  12. Just remember there's no in-game editor.
  13. ( Moved to correct thread )
  14. There's so much negativity around here at the moment I tend to go all 'MLG defensive mode'.
  15. Puncheon and Fonte are listed twice; of the list 4 have left, 1 may be following them, and J-Rod is injured but back in training.
  16. If you can keep your head when all around are losing theirs.......... You simply don't understand that we're a team in crisis and doomed to score a record low points total. ( FWIW, I agree with Shroppie - yours is far too sensible an opinion ).
  17. Well if you expect TTs to help sort things out you will be disappointed ; it opens with a 12.6 Km team TT, and there are 2 individual TTs - the first is stage 10 @ 34.5 km, and the final stage is a 10km TT ( not much chance of any rider making time up over such a short run ). As usual it will be a climbing all-rounder's race with just 5 'flat' stages as opposed to 13 lumpy ones, several of which finish uphill on cat-1 or HC climbs.

  19. It's KL's club and money, it was never Cortese's.

    Moan, whine, repeat.
  21. Is that what we do now with the ones we can't sell ?
  22. Sod it ! Anybody willing to lend me some razor blades ?
  23. Don't you know we are club in crisis, and in the midst of a fire sale ? Look at it logically, all he has done is put himself in the shop window - he'll now be linked to Liverpool and Arsenal in the Sunday papers.
  24. Players have no loyalty these day, they are led by the nose by their agents. Expecting them to honour an agreement is a forlorn hope.
  25. How much effort is required for that ?
