The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

I wonder if occasionally if the Government and Police say "There is no terrorist link" then there is actually no terrorist link, and consequently no misinformation passed to the public. -
The issue is exports - effectively cutting yourself off from your largest ( and nearest ) trading partner by imposing paperwork and regulations has had a drastic impact on small businesses for whom the added costs make trading non-viable.

Our son had a work night out at the club last night, it is compered by the father of one of his colleagues. I was his taxi service. Fucking nightmare trying to work our way through the traffic jams caused by Strictly.

I went to a restaurant in Tel Aviv but a waiter told me they were full despite half the tables being vacant. I pointed out the empty chairs and he replied "Oh yes, they are occupied". ( Courtesy of a Jewish comedian at a comedy club in Blackpool, who also said that on his visit to Israel he was on a trip to the Holocaust museum and said to his wife "Don't you think it's ironic that we are going there by train ?" )

"Asylum seekers do not receive phones as part of their standard support package from the Home Office, though a number of charities do provide donated phones to new arrivals to make it easier for them to contact solicitors and monitor the progress of their claims. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/dog-free-zones-wales-outdoors-anti-racist-b2647663.html 2 thoughts; is this just black people who are frightened of dogs rather than fear of racism, and as for "removing racism by 2030" - the Principality is full of the bloody Welsh !

If they are ruled 'official acts' then they don't exceed the powers of his position. As for the Constitution, any change requires a two thirds majority in both Houses, and three quarters of all State legislatures to agree.

Wow! Altering the reported time of a phone call by 10 minutes to make his boss look more decisive. Not exactly a hanging offence.

At the risk of taking the thread off on a tangent, Bitterne Park Infants for me.

I am more concerned about the appointment of Tulsi Gabbard - she makes East-stand-nic look like a sheeple.

There are many thousands of politically appointed positions in the Federal beaurocracy, Joe Biden filled these with 'his own prople' following his 2021 inauguration. Previous Democrat Presidents appointed Supreme Court Justices in their turn, it may be unfortunate, from a particular perspective, that Ruth Bader-Ginsberg died during Trump's first Presidency, but there was no conspiracy around her replacement, other than that was some commentary that it should have been delayed until after the pending Presidential election. It has been asserted several times in recent Court cases that some actions taken as part of the duties of President of the United States are, indeed, above more commonly interpreted Law. If Trump goes too far the SC will rule against him.
-
Is that grounds for disqualification from public office ?

He can do exactly what he wants, within the constraints of the Constitution and the Supreme Court, which despite it's conservative political leaning will not permit him to exceed the powers of the Presidency, and I suspect that even a pro-Trump Congress would baulk at ripping out parts of the Constitution. Trump was elected with a manifesto, and it obviously appealed to enough of the electorate to put him in the White House. If he goes "too far" the States will challenge him in the Courts, or even bring in local legislation to overrule Federal statute. I read something yesterday that said he might even struggle to get his trade tariffd through the Senate, even with the GOP controlling it. EDIT: it's not as if Biden hasn't bypassed Congress and brought in Presidential decrees when he felt it necessary.

You do understand the principle of democracy ?

Whatever team we have next season it will still be worse than the other 2 teams that go down with us. Factor in teams such as Leeds and the other 'sleeping giants' and we will probably at best be competing in the free-for-all fight for the playoffs.
-
But we spent that fortune ON Championship standards.
-
Possible promotion next season would be dependent on whether Russ is still manager. If he is I don't think we would achieve it; RussBall will be well understood, from an opponent's perspective, and everybody we play will simply go with a high press and direct attacking. Yes our attack would look impressive from a Championship perspective, but it will still be the same lame, mindless defending, with Bazunu back in goal.

My wife is wondering whether Lineker leaving MOTD was in anticipation of a job vacancy opening at the head of the CofE.
