Dune, with posting a Levellers tune, you are at risk of letting your mask slip, and being discovered to be a closet crusty / tree hugger : "Whoever puts their hand upon me to govern me is a usurper, a tyrant, and I declare them my enemy"

Some Indian call centres are now 'outsourcing' to the States as the labour rates are cheaper !

"We need a statement of intent to build the new stadium this year, and we need to start seeing lots of premiership quality players swelling the ranks before pre season. I reckon if we signed 10-15 good premiership players we'll do well next season." OK, which of us is HorseaHorsea ?

Right wing little Englanders complaining about getting caught breaking the law when speeding.

How does anybody 'know' whether what is posted on an effectively anonymous Internet forum truly represents the persona and politics of any poster ? Most posters on here probably wouldn't know it when they were sat next to a fellow poster in the stands at SMS. In the case of 'brave little Dune battling against the Marxist hordes' - he doesn't have to post his more extreme opinions, he does so in the certain knowledge of the response, and in all probability with the intention of provoking the ire of those to the left of his political position, ( which means anybody from the left wing of the Tory party through to arch-communists ). He also gives as good as he gets, I am certain that he enjoys the 'debate', and it truth he very rarely stands alone in defending the indefensible.

I've just done the shopping whilst watching a program about the Isle of Man TT races. And it doesn't count as multitasking if one of the 'tasks' is simply waiting for the oven timer to stop

Would the crash have happened if you were completely aware of your speed, the road conditions, and your safe braking distance ? The camera is immaterial. If you were sufficiently distracted by it to hit another vehicle, you were not driving 'with due care and attention'.

The 6 local Prem teams, in the following order : Trafford United Citeh Red Scousers Blue Scousers Blackburn Bolton In terms of the south coast, are there any teams other than the mighty SFC ? I'm certainly struggling to think of any worth a mention.

How does a fixed camera cause an accident ? Surely it's the driver who is not paying sufficient attention and is unsure as to his/her speed and braking distance ( relevant to the prevailing conditions ) that causes the collision ?
-
And, if you had gone past the cameras at a LEGAL speed, the 'nanny state' would be out of pocket, wouldn't it ! Therefore, I can only assume you were happy to take the risk, knowing and accepting the potential consequences of your actions. On behalf of the 'socialist nanny state' I graciously acknowledge your generous contribution towards funding the welfare system, and warmly thank you for your altruism.

Every driver that has ever been caught by a speed camera claims that they were driving safely and shouldn't have been fined. They generally also claim that fixed cameras are a money making exercise imposed by a Labour Government to 'tax' the honest motorist. It's quite simple, if you don't speed past them you don't get fined, and they don't make money. If you knowingly drive at 40 past a camera in a 30 zone, and get caught, tough ! You gambled and lost.

28 years of driving, average 20k miles per year; never had a speeding fine, never had a parking ticket. You may read into that what you wish.
-
Sorry, never had any so can't help Re the 'nanny state' jibe, have you considered that you have them because you broke the law ? The cameras are clearly signed, as are the speed limits. Perhaps you should go to specsavers ?
